I wish they'd have released this! I want it, but I ain't paying $579 for it. I hope these become as available as the JP " Arnold" figure.

Looks a lot better than the Retaliation AWE Striker.
Didn't folks pay big bucks for the Jurassic Park Rock/Roadblock figure only for it to later flood ebay and dramatically drop in price?

I saw the other version go for $500 last week. Nice catch!

nah.. I was the first to catch that Jurassic Joe, and the first few auctions only went for around $30..
I doubt we'll see the vehicle mass-china'ed though, since it is a good bit of molding & painting in this one.
I would guess the actual number on this is probably very low.
worth $500?
probably not.
unless you hedge your bets that the production run is actually only a few prototypes and therefore will appreciate substantially in value..
..that, or you love the awe striker.
there is a reason we call it the 'awe' striker. I love that thing.

Yeah it's a cool repaint. Although it's not 579 dollars cool. I could see paying two or three hundred at the most.

Um, wow, that is expensive. I could buy a reasonable display case for that price. ;)

What scares me with rare modern items like this is the potential for them to show up in mass through some other means. The canceled Target Deluxe sets went upwards of $300 a set before they showed up at Ross. The mail-way Cobra Commanders with mini-HISS were going for $100 a pop before the club got them for less than $20 each. While I still don't expect any of that to happen with these jeeps, there is still that little bit of uncertainty that keeps me away.

These Jurassic Park things still mystify me. Were they really meant to end up at retail or were they for a promotion of some kind? There's no movie or anything to go along with them, they seem out of place.

For that price, it better be able to all manner of dirty things to me that make me think that women are unnecessary to have around in this world. Otherwise, it's worth only about 19.99 to me.

I'll wait. I'm sure we'll see these flood the market in about a month.

QFT. I'll buy one when they're $20. Will make a great Z Force jeep.

Those JP AWE Strikers and drivers were all just straight repaints, correct? No newly molded parts? If so, it looks like it would be easier and cheaper to make a custom one, of you really want one in your collection. Like most of you guys, I'd buy it at retail for $20 or so, but $579 is about the budget I have for all the other Joe stuff coming out this year (if that Club Figure Subscription deal ever happens).

Yeah that is expensive!! I dont have to have it that bad for my collection. It is a very cool piece and i really like the driver. I doubt we will see the vehicles just start showing up everywhere, but maybe the driver.

The Awe's are cool enough, I really just want the drivers though.

just have someone paint one for you for $25 or whatever they charge! You could even have an autobody painter do it for a lot cheaper and make it look better! lol
Hope no one buys this for that much!
Plus, how do we know it won't be released two years down the road for a Con or some other toy line! Then you'll have a $500 paper weight! lol

This thing is pretty cool at $12.99 at retail...but at $579.99 it can rot with the Artic Destro Prototype :0

Well.. Their is supposed to be another Jurassic Park movie in the works.. So these may still have a chance to hit retail, but I doubt it. I have jumped the gun on many of things.. some bit me in the ass and got released full retail.. some just became more abundant on Ebay than I expected.. I would love to have this in my collection, but as I am currently unemployed.. I don't think I can live in it.. so I get to look at the pretty picture and that is it. LOL

Wait, what?
Steven Spielberg says new 'Jurassic Park' movie is coming soon (http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/entertainment&id=8267096)
Oh, Mr. Spielberg mentioned it at SDCC last year.
Odd though, that there's nothing at all about it on IMDB...?
I think they should have stopped after the first one. Man, that was a great movie when I first saw it. Still good to this day.

He or one of the actors has been mentioning it pretty much every year ever since the third one came out and did surprisingly well. I'll believe it when it's greenlit and in production.
I still wonder why Hasbro had the rights to make these. Or perhaps thought they had the rights but didn't, resulting in these prototypes etc?
