You know I'm on the fence about the movie still but I appreciate how excited the Rock seems to be about the movie as a franchise.
This I Command!

Can we add one more bullet point to the main page that says:
"The Rock says know your role and shut your mouth"
;-)
I'm glad he never saw RoC, he might not have agreed to do Retaliation if he had.

So he says this movie is way different than the first. But then he says he never seen the first movie...
Also this answer bothers me a bit-
What can you say about your character, Roadblock?
In the mythology of G.I. Joe, Roadblock is the glue that holds the Joes together.
The person doing the interview is clueless. ” Is it the Joes doing the Retaliating?” ” I believe Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who played one of the villains in the first movie, isn’t in Retaliation. Can you say who, if anyone, has replaced him in the role?”
If you're gonna ask a question about a character returning at least know who the hell it was.

No fair. You're trying to use logic. But I gotta love The Rock.

He goes on to say that some of the plot carries over from RoC but not much. Again, how the hell does he know if he never seen it? He says he's already watched Retaliation and loved it. Who knows, he could watch RoC and be like man, that was great! Jon Chu sure as hell needs to learn from Sommers!

It's in his best interest to say only good things about his movie. But he does seem genuinely excited about GI Joe. Or maybe he's an even better actor than I give him credit for. But I do like The Rock.

never SAW it...im SURE others have given him the rundown (no pun intended) on the PLOT of the 1st...

Almost all the actors from RoC had the same attitude as JGL...except Ray Park and I don't recall Byung Hun-Lee being anything other than excited for the opportunity to break into the American market. Probably little coincidence that they were the ones invited back.
My only disappointment with all this information was that I was kind of hoping that Flint was the one that would emerge as the "Leader." Roadblock can still be the "glue" without being the "leader."

My wife says I'm hotter than the Rock. But she's never actually seen the Rock.

Well done.
If one plays those angles well enough, one can parlay that information (or lack thereof) into quite measurable success in one's marital bed.
What's that honey? Flex for you again?

I don't know, maybe The Rock is just trying to be nice/hollywood. If he admits to having seen it, the next logical question is did you like it?
This is a good way to detract attention from a very crappy first film and he doesn't have to bad mouth other directors/actors by telling them how much they suck.

Well said Drawing Heat. A star starts flaming directors and actors/actresses it won't fare well for the person lighting them up. I'm sure enough has been said behind the camera that everyone in the Retaliation camp can draw conclusion on ROC. Its really no secret how people feel w/o any of the Retaliation crew setting themselves up in front of the firing squad of lawyers and gossip rags'.

We all know he has to say good things about the movie but he does seem pretty amped about the film.
