Hate to give advice after the fact, and maybe you did this and it doesn't apply to the situation, but: Always check the seller's ratings and feedback.

I don't buy from people who have lots of instances of feedback stating that the item wasn't received. You can spot B.S. when the seller is responding to the feedback with things that don't sound right. "Item was shipped blame the USPS!!" Oh yeah, where's the tracking number, then?

Sometimes disreputable sellers don't like that the item sold for less than they thought it would and just don't ship the item and then offer some crappy excuse.

You can also tell when the buyer is full of shit and saying things like- "Never received item/item not as described!! You made my sick child who has cancer cry!!! :("

At the risk of tempting fate- I've been buying from eBay since 2000. I've only had 2 instances where I didn't receive items, and that was waaaay back in 2001, before I knew what to look out for.

Everything else has been positive, and in the few cases it hasn't been- The sellers I deal with have made it right or offered a partial refund.

Always check their feedback. You can gain a lot of insight into what kind of person they are.

Open a case against the seller on Ebay. 99.9% of the time Ebay sides with the buyer unless there's OVERWHELMING evidence otherwise.

You are protected by Paypal's buyer protection.

If the seller cannot prove any package was sent to your address, they refund you the total amount. End of story!

and yea i did check feedback the mauler was 1st time seller so i took a risk but the cobra mountain seller 100% all said a++++ seller quick ship... so idk

How long did you wait before filing the claim?

Im not saying you did this but alot of people loose thier temper and jump the gun. I've had guys take like 6 weeks to ship my package and when I contact them I find out they had legitimate excuses. One guy got sick, had to undergo life-threatening surgery (he is a diabetic) and didnt leave the hospital for over a month.

Again Im not saying you jumped the gun, just saying sometimes people dont ship stuff right away but it dossent mean they plan on screwing you.

Wow, that sucks bro! That's never happened to me, but I can imagine how much of a pain in the butt it must be. Of course you'll get your money back, but I bet you really want that Mauler and play set. Don't give up. I bought a sweet Mauler at a con for 5 bucks! It was dirty, but it cleaned up real nice. If you keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars I'm sure eventually all of your dreams will come true.

I have had issues on both ends, buying and selling, sucks. I have shipped items that the post office magically made disappear and never gave me anything in return, had tracking and insurance, both I now deem useless but only use tracking for the buyer. Dealing with selling issues now, guy has 5 eBay id's and bid up all my items over the reserve, and ended up winning 4 of them.

It sucks... you'll get your money back, but your time and energy is wasted trying to simply get what was expected. You bought it for a certain price and want it for that price. I had a d bag seller back out on me, say the sale was a mistake/that he didn't have it anymore.... only to watch him resell it for more money than I "purchased" it for.

I know the feeling. Do what you can to let ebay/the tank know about the bad sellers and then move on. There will be other maulers and conquests to buy. Good luck buddy.

Yeah, the one time i complained through paypal they were mega serious and closed the account of the buyer until it was resolved. But you have to make the complain within 30 days of the payment or something like that.

NOT that I would EVER recommend this, but since I spent 3 years as the Supervisor of a call center's Refund Department, I know a few of the "ins and outs" of what they need to hear. One of the rules is "If someone gets insanely belligerent, give them a full refund".

The last time I had an eBay issue, I sold 10 of the Cobra "Night Watch" Trooper 6 packs to a buyer in China. It was my first international sale, so I sent it with tracking.

Well, the guy claimed he never received it and opened a case, ebay asked me for proof of shipment, which I readily supplied... only to be told that the delivery confirmation # SHOWS that my package entered Foreign Customs. I said, well, that should be proof that i sent it. I was told by eBay that they would grant him a refund since I could NOT show that it went to his address.

Before I could even blink, they automatically reversed the Paypal funds and I was out $200. I called eBay back, thinking to myself I'm going to show how "insanely belligerent" I can be... and launched into an embittered, profanity-laced tirade about how I REALLY felt about eBay. The conversation ended like this...

eBay: "We are very sorry that you feel that way, Sir."

JLT: "So, you're telling me that eBay just f*&^ed me in the @$$?"

eBay: Well, I wouldn't say it like that, sir...

JLT: "You can say it any way you want, you corporate drone. But, on the street, we call this "getting f*&^%ed in the @$$"!

eBay: Sir, as a one-time courtesy, we are going to waive the fee of $200 that you have incurred. Would that be okay?"

As I said earlier, I wouldn't recommend doing this, but a well place "F*&^" in a conversation can get things done!

This is why I do NOT leave a balance in my PP account, as soon as it hits I transfer it out to my bank account.

I also use a SEPARATE bank account (at the same bank I have my checking and savings w/ - to easily move the $$ around online) for PP too.

PP (not E-bay, but PP in this case) tried to f*ck me a few years ago, MONTHS after a transaction, and claimed they were freezing my account and funds. I told them the joke was on them b/c there was $0.30 in my PP account, and they could have it as they shoved it up their arse. :) LUCKILY at the time I was using a account at a different bank (so my ex-wife did not see the account or have access to it - another smart trick :)) and I did not leave anything in that one either - I used that account strictly for my "fun $$$" I did not want her in. :)

In the end PP got NOTHING, and I got a good laugh at them for once. :)

PS - I did not screw anyone, PP has a strict anti-second amendment policy, and decided to freeze my account for LEGAL firearms purchase, THROUGH a federal firearms dealer.
