I guess I llike this SE suit a bit more than Roc, but not by much. Just seems too heavy/bulky. Actually it reminds me way too much of Robocop!! I soo wish they would have went the more realistic commando route, basically the wave 3 POC SE would have been perfect imo.

Snake Eyes looks so cool in this movie, I like the movie just for the new look alone. The armor is just such a cool update to the character, and seems appropriate for a Joe like him. Flint looks a lot cooler than Duke, D.J. Contra is starting to look like a good fit but I still can't be sure. It always makes me feel better seeing Roadblock & Snake Eyes with guns, I like the ninja stuff okay, but I prefer commandos. Awesome pictures.

I really don't think it's too much, he's a close combat, hand to hand fighter in situations that involve heavy artillery. He has what looks like the kind of protection someone who fights in close combat, but also has to worry about stray gun fire and explosions would need. It seems practical, but no one wants practical.. sigh.

Yeah I would agree with that dbritt. The armour has plenty of seems, so you can guess that, is how its going to pan out, also even in the 3 mins that we have seen, he has done some pretty bad ass stunts.

I think its safe to assume that they wouldn't make a new suit design that would actually hamper movement.

This is the Tank. All opinions are formed before having any actual useful info :) . I seriously think (other than the lips) the RoC outfit was perfect. This new one looks like the whirlwind kick Snake Eyes. My problem is that he looks goofy as hell and too robotic. I don't have very high hopes for this movie from what we've seen. At least the characters in RoC were recognizable (with the exception of Ripcord). Rock looks nothing like Roadblock, Flint and Lady Jaye look like random people picked for a character they don't remotely resemble. I just find it funny that people bitch about the problems with RoC yet praise Retaliation for the same things.

Lol. I don't necessarily mean perfect but I thought it looked great. Could it be better? Everything can eventually be outdone. What I mean is it was a great fit for the character and instantly recognizable. You can't honestly say the Retaliation suit looks more like SE than the RoC outfit.

I dunno...I agree. I dont care for all the armored look. No ninja commando worth his shit would be wearing a suit of armor when he needed to sneak in somewhere...But then This is a whole different thing. Im not to into the look. A POC wave 3 would give me a nerdgasm to onscreen, Not a suit of armor that has been done to death.

I guess im just to ARAH/Marvel to really get into the new look of things..

I'm liking se new look. It's armor but looks pretty flexible. I don't think the commando look would really look all that great on screen but that's me. The figure of him in wave 2 looks incredible as well.

A ninjas back in the day would wear a form of chain mail under their clothes. Not a lot, but enough to protect from glancing blows.

SE's armor is actually pretty light but I think the reason it looks a little chunky is because Ray Park isn't anorexic like they've shown SE to be in the cartoons and comics lately. His mid section is a lot fuller which makes the suit look a little weird.

Personally, I would have preferred it being a reimagining of V1 with V2 being kind of like a flame retardant layer underneath... I think you get the idea of where I going with this...

The reality is it doesn't matter who is under SE's mask as long as they can pull of the physical nature of the character. They don't even have to be tied down to having a white guy play it as long as they switch the actor if the mask comes off a la Darth Vader.

I like the suit. But I think they did too much to try to please everyone and in the end made a design where some of the elements don't fit with others.

I think its a bit heavy, really. But who really cares? Its close enough to know its snake eyes without having to ask anyone. As long as hes awesome in the movie, everyone will love him.

I liked the look of the UNISOLS in Universial Soldier 1, they looked like they were wearing Kevlar vests but shaped into an upper body "muscle cuirass " without any phoniness.

Obviously that costume was horrible, only good thing was that silver armband which shouldve been retained for the new movie. I dont see why they just didnt give them that black armour all the Joes were wearing, that was supposed to be bullet proof ceramic/kevlar. SE looked like a stiff latex caste ..which he was that costume mustve been even horrible to wear.

thanks for sharing the pics. I think they look pretty good overall. I think this is going to be a fun movie. Yeah, there's alot of chat on here about SE's armor, but it's a different take, we'll see what happens. I bet by the time we watch the movie, most of us will really enjoy it and not focus as much on SE's look. SS evidently will have multiple looks, maybee SE will also. I hope that Flint gets a beret at sometime during the film. That's kind of his staple, that and the shotgun. The film looks like fun. I liked the dual sub mgs also.

I figure this movie will not be my perfect Joe movie, but it looks like it will at least be pretty good. It's not the same Joe universe from the 80's, and I approach it that way. If they want a short, armored Snake Eyes, that's their business. At least he looks cool in some of the stills and doesn't have the lips and rubber Batman style fake muscle suit of the last film. Progress!
