while the Hiss is a cool tank, i always thought Joe's had it better with the Mobat so i picked up one on ebay for real cheap and decided to make a Cobra Mobat.
i used Krylon Fusion Blue since it's mainly for use on plastics.
the most difficult part was taking off all the old sticker. the glue residue really puts up a fight.
anyway, this is the first custom i've ever done with GI Joe stuff.
here are all the main body parts disassembled

can you buy reproduction Mobat stickers from anywhere?

J.Ruben, on Ebay, should have Mobat stickers, and I think he had CAT stickers, which might work better for you.
Looks good, BTW. I have been looking for something to do with old mobats.

thanks for the resource. i emailed thru ebay so lets, see what happens...
this was actually a very easy modification to make. as i mentioned, removing all the stickers was the toughest part.
i may need to give the main turret a 2nd coat of paint as it was windy and some overspray blew back onto the part leaving it with less than a glossy shine.
i really like all the stickers the mobat came with vs. the sparse few the cat has. i can buy hiss stickers from gi joe heaven but i'd rather get all the little detail stickers from the mobat and add the appropriate cobra stickers.

J.Ruben has the Cat, Mobat and Hiss stickers. I'll also say that while Gijoe Heaven has great stickers, J.Ruben's are the best stickers you can get online

Yes, J.Ruben definitely has great decals...but I would also say that G.I.Joe Heaven is right up there with the "Decal Elite"! :D

Try Goo Gone in the future it works great and has a pleasant orange chemical scent. Just wash down everything after wards to make sure no residues left on parts .

I finally got all the decals in and applied them. the quality was well worth the cost. any white decals are delicate though, just a warning...
i'm very happy with the way it turned out and relieved i only made one major placement mistake. hopefully no one will notice. i'm glad i went with the mixture of decals vs. the spartan cat set.
