So if these were purchased at Meijer it means that either their computers have already been updated to reflect the new item numbers or they're reused item numbers from older figure assortments.

I once found Wave 3 (25th) at a Meijer way back when but they refused to sell me the figures since the number wasn't in the price scanners.

A receipt would really help clear up this mystery.

***EDIT*** Also, why do some figures look like there's no plastic bubble around the accessories? Is it an illusion of light or are the bubbles cut out around certain parts?

your Zartan has green piping. If ANYONE finds a tan Trooper hopefully they'll say something ASAP. It seems there's either variants, running changes, chase variations, or just some really crazy preproduction stuff
floating about. Crazy stuff. That blue Trooper contradicts so much of

This could have been a total fluke find as only one case was out and one of the other Meijer's in town did not have them out today. On the other hand, Meijer has had the shelf tags out for these figures for a few weeks and they did break the street date for Transformers a year ago, just not by 6 1/2 weeks!

No that's the one that just appeared today. I woke up to several texts and messages asking about it. That Cobra Commander suggests a few things...

either a lot of figures in this line will have repaints/running changes/variants... kind of catering to the collectormind and thus
making more money off of tooling than not. OR a lot of changes were made in the preproduction and it's just more chaotic than not. Another
Zartan piping colour was found (which we cover on the next ep of the podcast) and then there's the Trooper... and now this Cobra Commander on ebay. So again, that's why I was so anxious for pics and receipt.

That was my thought as well, initially. After a moment I imagined the reaction that my son would have if we had seen those in the wild. he would not find them bland at all. He loves the oversized weapons from RoC and modern vehicles. This wave has huge kid appeal.

The only reason I rushed out of the house to get to Meijer today was to see if they had the new Star Wars vintage wave which was reported being found in Indy yesterday. The Star Wars stuff is at the end of the aisle and as I'm walking past the Transformers and GI Joes, I glance over and that's when I couldn't believe the Retaliation stuff was out. In addition to the 9 Joe's, I was able to get the Darth Malgus and the realistic styled Anakin figure. Picked up two others for a buddy of mine. Considering I wasn't planning on doing a toy run today, it worked out pretty well!

1-I already had SE and SS in-hand that I got from China. There does not appear to be any difference at all between these and the packaged ones I got today, except a VERY slight color difference to SE's gear (the production one is slightly darker but only slightly)

2-Roadblock does indeed have that ninja thing molded onto his hand, and does NOT come with an extra hand. He also has the reduced articulation at the knees and ankles.

If Meijer has them, then it is highly probable that all the other major retailers at least have them in distribution centers if not in store. Price will probably be pare with Avengers, so $7.99 and up.

But last I knew, the toys were street dated so a good many stores will probably hold them until next month, I know when I worked at Walmart, we actually had Transformers 1 and Spider-Man 3 toys in store over a month prior to their street date (and locked out of the registers as well).

But this seems to point to a bit more of a "grand entrance" for Joe and Spider-Man stuff rather than the "gets on the pegs when we get to it" rollout of Avengers.

No dice on there website, talked to a really nice lady in customer service and she did a search for them by upc. And the upcs aren't even showing up in any of the stores or on there online website. Oh well just have to wait for the stuff to come down this way. Very strange just the one store.

Yeah, the Red Ninja is by far my most anticipated figure here. I would like to have a bunch of them.

Roadblock wouldn't be bad at all if he had a different hand without that block shit molded to it and if the shoulder support for his ginormous launcher was/is removeable. Otherwise, it's not a bad figure at all but the hand and shoulder brace are kind of pretty big deals if they don't come off :(

Could swap his hand(s) with a different pair and xacto the shoulder brace off and he'd be good to go though with some touchup paint on the shoulder area.

Duke just is in there to fill the pre-requirement from Hasbro to have a Duke, SE, SS & Cobra Commander in everything, no matter what. Kind of wish they would have given us that cancelled arctic Duke though instead of this crappy drab green one. The sales of the arctic Duke would be far greater than this one will be for sure

And the peg warmers from this wave will probably be Duke, Zartan, Roadblock, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow & Cobra Commander with Joe Trooper & Cobra Trooper peg warming to some extent later on too.

Today, go into the store, and there were pegs with stickers for Joe, at the 6.97 price point. There were also 2 30th/Renegades figures on those pegs, remnants of a fresh case now gone.

So, not saying they will be breaking dates or dropping any time soon, but Wal Mart seems to be rolling Joe pegs out, at that lower price point, to previously out of commission stores in preparation for the movie line.

I'll up load my pictures later this evening but my first impression of the four I got; SS, SE, Roadblock, and Duke is this...SS is great although needs more gear, Roadblock looks like the Rock but limited articulation and the fact that his stupid key hands don't solidly hold his weapons is off putting, SE is SE; but his backpack wings make him very top heavy, and Duke I actually like more then I thought...my kids love his missile launcher...I'll post pick later.

Most of these are passes. I suppose renegades fans will like the Zartan since it was clearly designed after the show version. The Joe trooper is the only figure worth getting. The colors are off but the accessory compliment can't be beat. The red ninja, though based on the awesome renegades SS, comes with two swords and no where to put them. The cobra trooper is handicapped at the ankles. The SS just looks like a cyber ninja version. The SE, with a good looking simple sculpt has ridiculously useless accessories. The Cobra Commander and Duke figs look like junk. The roadblock is ruined with the hand/gun gimmick.

Predictions:

Joe Troopers will be hard to find if they're one per case. Red Ninjas, Zartan and Cobra Troopers will probably sell well since they'll have their own fans rooted in Renegades, army building or custom parts potential.

SE, SS, CC, Duke and Roadblock will be keeping the pegs nice and toasty.

Hopefully wave 2 will be released at the same time and we'll get access to the better figures like Jinx.

Good luck man, I called that store thanks to the recite that was posted in the thread earlier and a really nice guy took a look for me to see if they had anymore Retaliation Gi Joes. He named everything off in the toy aisle and said they don't carry them. He checked a couple other aisles for me too. So I'm thinking they may have been put out by accident and some tankers got lucky and then they got pulled. I also called mejier via there customer service number and had them run the UPC's that were posted in this thread and the lady that was helping me also very nice btw, couldn't find anything with those UPC's in any of there stores or online. So I think these were not only supposed to be put out but also are not even in the company's computers yet.

I don't know a ton about retail, but I think the tankers who found them were just extremely lucky and that store messed up.

My intentions are not to derail this thread I just wanted to pass this along to anyone who might be be trying to find them where these stores are located. Best of luck if you do go searching. Maybe this is the start of stores starting to get them and that would be awesome.

In the case of the Meijers in Fort Wayne, they only had 1 case. Sean bought 1 of each (9) and I bought the last 3, so they didn't get pulled (I was worried they would though so I rushed over there when I heard about this)

Gotcha, the guy who checked the toy aisle told me the store didn't even carry gi joes. Anyhow other guys are posting there finding them at other meijer stores. Why the hell can't anyone who works there find them though. I even gave the UPC's you gave me and every employees I talk to says nope we don't have anything like that in are system. I don't understand retail and the more I try in just gets more confusing.

I wouldn't get too excited about a permanent $6.97 lower price point. A price increase is coming. Before they yanked them down, Kmart.com had roadblock and few others listed on their site with a suggested retail price of $9.99. Right now they have the the firefly/snake eyes motorcycles listed at $12.99.

I'm guessing the case price at most e-tailers will be $95- $100 with single figures selling for $7.99-$8.99. I'm like everyone else I would love cheaper prices but I don't think this find is definitive proof that prices are going to be cheaper.

One of two reasons would be my guess:
1. He had no Idea what he was looking for, maybe he's not a fan and was looking for the old packageing.
2. He's lazy and was just telling you no so he didn't have to make the hike from the phone to the toy isle and back. <- Most likely guess.

If you haven't gotten them by this point, you probably aren't going to get them at all. Stores aren't going to bring in a ton of the last line if they are expecting to dump it all for a new line in a month.

If Meijer is putting out product, it means Walmart and Target Definitely have the stuff in the distribution centers, if not the actual stores.

I'm wondering if Hasbro will just say "Eff it" and just let everyone put out the toys early, especially given how empty Walmart and Target are reported to be.

Unless maybe a part of their deal with Marvel was that the Avengers toys got to have a certain amount of time out with no internal competition.

This is what I'm thinking. They haven't had anything new for awhile in several lines outside of the trickle of SW, Avengers, and Joe. Execs don't like empty space. To them that's a loss.
