Here are the latest updates from the G.I. Joe Collectors' Club:

SURPRISE! This week we started mailing the FREE membership figures for 2012! We were able to get these manufactured much earlier this year, so off they go to you! It will take several weeks for them to reach all of the membership, so please be patient. If you don't receive your figure by the end of May, please let us know.

In your April issue of the Club Magazine, you will find a letter that offers: credit card fraud counseling; instructions on how to place a credit alert on your accounts; and a free one-year subscription to a Credit Monitoring and Identity Theft Recovery Service that we have purchased on your behalf.

If you have received any evidence of fraud on your credit cards, please call and make a report with the 800 number listed in the letter for the recovery services.

If you desire to take advantage of the Credit Monitoring and Identity Theft Recovery Service, your letter contains an individually assigned certificate number that will allow you to activate the service. Do not share this certificate number with anyone as it is a one-time use certificate. In addition, you will need to activate your service by June 15, 2012. This service will last for 12 months once you activate it. Again, we apologize for any issues this problem has caused our membership.

Please note that your Club Magazine will be approximately 2 weeks later than normal as we wanted to give you time to check your mailing addresses in the new Club Store before we used it for the first mailing. You should receive your issue by May 4th. Please contact us after that date if you have not received your magazine.

Next week we will have the memberships back in the store. If you need to renew, all you have to do is put a credit card on file before your billing date (see My Account when you log in). The system will bill your renewal on that date. If you expire, you will need to go to the store, select the membership of your choice and check out. Then you will start again with the next mailing.

Finally, we are still working on getting all of our software and process back to normal. We hope to have registration available for G.I. Joe Con soon. We will send out an email when this is online.

Thanks for your support!

Brian

People, if you haven't changed your card yet because you haven't been hit so far, DO NOT WAIT! I figured it was all good since I hadn't noticed any fraudulant charges on my account untill the other day (4/10/12), 1 charge went through for Buy.com and another Buy.com charge was pending for the day I found them along with a charge pending for Dell.

They still have the credit card numbers whoever is behind this and not only the credit card #s & expiration dates but the 3 digit codes on the back of them as well and they can charge pretty much anything anywhere with that info. If you haven't blocked the card yet and switched it, don't wait! I waited and it did happen.

Mods, this is not me complaning about the club or the CC fraud, just trying to prevent anyone else who hasn't switched their card info by now from getting bit by them.

So what about those of us who are no longer members but got hit with fraud? Do we not get the free year subscription for the fraud monitoring?

Yeah, my membership ended this month and so I haven't gotten the email at all. With all their messed up and unprofessional issues they've had, I've had this lingering thought that somehow my april 3rd ending membership would cause them some confusion and I'd end up not getting the footloose. We'll see.

I think you know the answer to that question. You are not currently giving them your money so you are a second class citizen to them. Oh wait, that is what the paying members are. :P

A phone call will clear that up

Wait, you get a year free sub?
I got hit, but my bank caught it and cancelled my card. I've done nothing after that - they do not have my new card info.

I'm a member, and I'm paying for ID Fraud protection because my dirtbags got enough info to try an open cards in my name, etc. So, now I get a Footloose (yeah me) and I get to pay for fraud protection for a long, long while. The best part, is the clubs recent advice...They really show me they care... 2 months after the fact. Just because it may or may not be and October Guard set for this years Con does not stop me from thinking from the club needs to work harder on the service skills - SoM

Did you sign up after the new store was put in place? Or did you just never replace your card?

When are they going to start selling things again? Other e-tailers have trouble but they would go out of business with a warehouse full of product and no webstore to sell from.
