Yeah, in the general comic book discussion forum. Way to go informing the rest of us of a new 'G.I. Joe' comic book series. The section title for those forums says specifically "Non-G.I. Joe".

Ugh...never was a fan of Danger Girl...nothing wrong with the book I just didn't enjoy it...maybe it was because it was during the whole 'bad girl' comic phase.
Sadly even though I was not a fan...I tend to buy every Joe book that comes out, so I'll be getting it.

TheComixVerse (http://thecomixverse.com/?p=37698) has a shot of the slide from C2E2[/url] up on the website. More information is supposed to be forthcoming this weekend at the IDW panel (http://thecomixverse.com/?p=37548).
I'm hoping it has an all girl Joe squad teaming up with the Danger Girl crew and going against an all girl enemy. Might as well. Why not.
Then they should do a cross over with Suicide Girls in the future.
I'm fine with Elseworld style tales like Future Noir. This may be fun.

Love JSC's art, but it likely will just be cover work again. Never seems to do anything besides covers and pinups these days.
Still in though.

Have not read Danger Girl in years, but this sounds great. Hasbro make figures now.
Are the Danger Girl Characters still under license with McFarlane toys? A few (actually probably closer to ten) years ago these characters were produced as McFarlane (in)action figures.
I know that these characters have also appeared in video games and various different comic companies publications since, so would this be a licensing problem for Hasbro to produce figures-similar to the problem with producing a Sgt. Slaughter figure?
If not, I could totally see Hasbro creating a 3-4 pack of exclusive Danger Girl - G.I.JOE Crossover exclusives for Comic Con.

The cover looks like the 90s vomited all over it, the only thing I like is Abbey Chase's outfit and face... it's got impossible waists and tons of 90s scowly men.
Don't get me wrong I will still pick up this book, but man the art is so outta wack.

No. It's been out for awhile. Wildstorm/Image published it, now it's published by IDW.
Created by J. Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell.
It's never been an ongoing, just a series of mini-series.
It wasn't published for awhile but is now being published again.
Danger Girl: Revolver is the current series out now.

The original Danger Girl has the single best Snake-Eyes vs. Storm Shadow fight ever drawn. Kinda.
I can't think of another property that is more perfect for a GI Joe crossover than DG.

Yes, Hasbro would have to get the license if it is even available. Hasbro is not doing anything at the moment from the comic world so I really doubt this would even happen when they don't even make figures of the awesome IDW redesigns. It was more of "I wish Hasbro would make figures" statement.

Danger Girl had a Snake-Eyes/Stormshadow battle? Eh?
Am I the only one who doesn't particularly care about this? I've always enjoyed GI Joe because by and large, they avoided the whole "we need really sexy pictures to sell our product" thing and just concentrated on good, fun storytelling.
Danger Girl always seemed like just an excuse to print sexified drawings for guys to look at.

There are a pair of characters in DG that are somewhat analogous to SE and SS.
The original DG series by JSC is nothing but good, fun storytelling drawn by a master of the craft at the height of his powers and inspiration. It just happens to have incredibly well drawn, beautiful women in it.
It is equal parts Indiana Jones, 007, and GI Joe.

Never read it huh?
I'm against the sexified drawings/cheesecake/bad girls, probably moreso then most others because it tends to distract from the story and that's if there is a story in the first place.
But Danger Girl is just a fun book. There is cheesecake, but it's almost tongue-in-cheek.
It's a great book and I'm not even a J. Scott Campbell fan.

It will be interesting to be sure. I am curious to see the Joes hash it out with some Hammer soldiers! those guys were pretty cool, like Cobra with an unlimited budget. That and Major Maxim is just awesome! I have been trying to make a decent custom of him for almost 10 years.
The McFarlane DG figures are awesome. I just got the complete set recently.
Eh, i disagree on the basis that they were statues, not action figures. The little PVC figures can be harvested for some parts and such though.

The story plots of DG were good though, so it made the cheesecake moments much easier to swallow.

Also, Campbell isn't drawing the crossover (or any of the recent DG mini-series) so the cheesecake aspects are cut way down.

I agree, I also would love to have some Danger Girl Figures in 3 3/4 scale. Hasbro definitely did miss the mark by failing to produce figures based upon the IDW re imagined characters: Cobra Commander
Crystal Ball
as well as the characters who were created for the series.
I probable would have been more willing to read all of the comics if I knew that figures would be produced based on these characters. But as it is there are too many titles and I can't follow it all.

I look forward to see how this will turn out, but I am not terribly optimistic about it. Danger Girl draws its influence from many sources including: James Bond; Charlies Angels; Indiana Jones; GIJOE; etc. I am not sure if having a team up with the source material that influences a work of fiction really provides opportunities for stories which haven't been seen before.
Realistically, you could tell any Danger Girl story and replace the female characters with Scarlett; Lady Jaye; Cover Girl and it would read like a Sunbow episode or Marvel Special Missions Comic.
But maybe I'm just not being imaginative at all.

I would only be interested in this if J.Scott Campbell draws it which is the only reason that I even bought the Absolute Danger Girl hardcover from years back, his art is amazing.

It was a comic teenage girls in the 90's liked. It seems to be popular with select GI Joe nerds aswell.

Well, my sig says it all. I have all DG mini series and love all of them.
Isn't this out in July, can't wait.
Those wishing Hasbro would make Danger Girl figures, don't hold your breath on it. This is the same company that keeps telling us female figures don't sell. Then again with the Marvel Universe figures, I can never find female characters on the pegs(when released).
