In the 90's when USA Cartoon Express started airing G.I.Joe I would record them onto VHS and kept a episode guide notebook, it wasn't until I got a computer in 2000 and started searching other Joe websites comparing episode airdated that I discovered that USA CE was airing the Joe series by production code.
Well anyways upon closer investigation I noticed the the first eight production code Joe episodes of season 1 might have been intended for a possible Joe cartoon in 1984. It only makes sense these first eight episodes along with the five from Revenge Of Cobra make up a total of 13 which is the standard season for cartoons aired weekly.
1) Cobra's Creatures
2) Countdown For Zartan
3) Cobra Soundwaves
4) Cobra Stops The World
5) Jungle Trap
6) Haul Down The Heavens
7) Battle For The Train Of Gold
8) Operation Mind Menace
Another theory is that these eight episodes aside from Flint, Lady Jaye, Snake Eyes v.2, and the Dreadnoks don't feature any other figures from the 1985 line-up and doesn't have the background music more commonly used in season 1 and 2.
