...so, I'm just gonna go ahead and post the story. It's not finished by any means, so it will be updated regularly. The songs are meant to be listened to after each section. Enjoy for now. :D

I walk across the room, my bare feet touching the cold floor with every step. I stare out the window, wondering what to do next.

"What's wrong?", asks Brandi from the bed.

"Just got a message from Krinq, we're apparently back in business..."

"What?! NO?! I thought we put a stop to this years ago?!"

"He says we're still in his favor, and if we don't do what he says, we could lose everything!"

"I'm not doing this, we've been through enough! Tell him we're done!"

"I wish I could Brandi! Do you want to lose everything!?"

"At least we'll have each other! You know how close you came to death last time! Twice! "

I turn my head, and stare back out the window. Little did she know, I'd been going on missions for months. Apparently she had no clue, or else this outburst would not have been so defensive. I did not want to be having this argument at 3 in the morning, but the briefing is Saturday, and she is necessary for the mission. If I had not gotten her to go, I would have had my head pounded into the ground by those guards. *shudder* Their images still haunt me. I've stood up to a lot of 'villains' in the past, but those guards were inhuman. Something about them is just not right.

"We need the money..."

"What?"

"You heard me, we need that money!"

"How much?" She seemed skeptical.

"Forty grand. Each."

She turned away and pondered on the situation for several minutes before answering. She had to do it, if she didn't, I was dead. I didn't tell her cause I didn't want to force her to do it.

"Just this once, right?"

"Positive." No, I wasn't.

"When's the briefing?"

"Saturday, eight o'clock."

She rolled over, and let out a grunt. I felt a heavy weight being lifted off my chest. I stood at the window and watched her sleep for the rest of the night, thinking of what the briefing would tell....

The air is cold as I shift the gears, driving through the desert on this January morning. I look over at Brandi, she's sleeping. I look at the clock and see the numbers. 4:57 AM

"Brandi, wake up. We're almost there."

She jolts, reaching for the knife at her side.

"Woah! Watch it!"

"Sorry, just another.....another dream."

"It'll be fine, don't worry."

"I don't know if I can do this again, I really don't."

"You just need to calm down..."

"Why are you taking this so lightly? You seem like everything's gonna be fine. You were the one that wanted to stop working for him. And years later, the second we get a call, you're not angry, or even scared? What's wrong with you?!"

I glance over at her, my eyes meet hers. I can tell she's putting the pieces together. She turns away from me in disgust.

"You son of a bitch..."

"I had too!"

She looks back at me, tears swell up in her eyes.

"Look, I'm fine now aren't I-"

"That's not the point!"

Anger built up inside me. Not towards her, but towards Krinq. Fat motherfucker...

I spot the sign, 'do not cross, dangers await.' I always thought it was cheesy as hell, but I know any normal family on vacation would turn around immediately at the sight of it. The sensors pop up out of the sand and scan the car. Krinq's voice comes on.

"Aaah, so good to see you again, Ziik. And good to see you Brandi."

He had that tone in his voice, the one we had both learned to hate. Brandi cast a glance at me, with a look of sickness on her face. I turned to talk, but she beat me too it.

"Just let us in, I wanna get this over with as soon as possible."

I looked over at her, thinking she'd be dead the second she got done speaking.

"Alright then..."

He had a sound of annoyance in his voice, like he wanted to kill us both. He couldn't, he needed us now more than ever, and he couldn't waste us over a smartass remark. I didn't look down on Brandi for being so hateful towards him. He pushed us pretty damn far before we'd said enough last time. If he does it again, he's gonna have to watch his ass...

The ground in front of us opens, a blue glow emits from the hole. The platform comes into view, and I pull up. Another scan of the under side of the car, then it begins to lower. I turn and see Brandi twirling her knife in her fingers, her eyes as red as ever. A sure sign of anger that I hadn't seen from her in years....

The guards led us to the doors of Krinq's office. The smell of cigars hit me in the face the second the door opened. It took all I had not to run in and stab that fat fuck in the face. I just looked over at Ziik, he glances at me and whispers.

"Trust me, it's fine."

I didn't believe him. This mission was just an attempt to wipe both of us out. I don't know how Ziik didn't see it. As we walked forward, the memories came rushing back...

"How're we doin, huh!? It's so good to see you two together again. I just knew you'd be up for another job after all these years."

He had a cheerful tone in his voice. It almost sounded genuine. But I knew he was faking.
Ziik stepped forward and shook his hand.

"We're doin alright."

He smiled, that same smile he uses every time we greet Krinq after a long mission.

"That's wonderful, and how about you Brandi? I understand you've been on break for quit some time?"

"Yes, yes I have..."

He stands in silence, dumbfounded.

"Well, alright then... Take a seat, please."

Another smile.

"How about some refreshments?"

I didn't want anything from this fucker.

"We're fi-"

"Sounds great."

I look over at Ziik in shock. He looks back and rubs his neck. I knew what it meant, I just didn't want to confide. Krinq looks at us for a second before turning around and leaning towards on of the guards.

"Go fetch us some drinks, will ya?"

The guard glances at us, his eyes glowing from his hood, before stalking off.

"Again, it's really great to have you two comin in together. Ya see, these kids today, they just don't know how to get work done properly. This is a very serious job that I needed done by professionals, if ya know what I mean?"

Ziik sort of half chuckles. I continue to sit, staring coldly into Krinq's eyes until I notice the stitches on his neck. Curiosity got the best of me, and I asked...

"What happened to your neck?"

I put a little hint of fake concern in there. He looks at me with a shocked look on his face.

"Just a childhood accident. Nothin much."

Bullshit.

"Hhhhm, I never noticed it until now..."

"Yeah, god damn bikes and all- Oh, there you are!"

The guard was back. He set down a tray with three cups and a pitcher full of red liquid. He always offered us drinks, but they were always blue. I can see many changes have taken place here since we were doing business. Krinq leans forward and pours a fair amount into each cup. He takes one, gestures us to take one, and gulps his down.

"Aaah, good stuff."

We lean forward at the same time and reach for the same glass. We look into each others eyes, the experience taking us back. Krinq notices.

"Look at you two, just like the good ol' days..."

Ziik grabs the other glass, and leans back. I do the same. We take a sip and put the glasses back down. Krinq grabs a remote and clicks a button. A screen drops down behind him, showing a a holographic map of Japan.

"Now, down to business."

He zooms in, showing a familiar city. Zooming in further, he comes to a very familiar building. No. I recognized that building and I'll be damned if I'm going back. The one mission we never completed. Our screams of pain still resonate in my brain. I shut my eyes and turn away. The horrible visions pour in.

I lay on the ground, unable to move from exhaustion. The rain pounds on my back, each drop feeling like a bullet. I see my own blood flowing in front of me. I am barely able to pick up my head to see Ziik laying in front of me, unconscious. I hear a whooping sound, like that of a helicopter. My vision fades in and out. I hear foot steps running towards us.....

"Brandi!"

I wake up, and realize where I am. Panting uncontrollably, I grab my drink and gulp it down. Krinq shows leans forward.

"What's wrong? Do you need something?"

"SHUT UP!"

I stand up, knocking over the chair, and storm off out of the room....

I sit still, struck with fear, the sweat pours down my forehead. I hear noises outside of the room. Just as it becomes clear, the door violently swings open. One of the guards stands in the doorway, his eyes gleaming through the darkness. He walks forward, reaching for my arm. I jolt backwards, resulting in something much worse. He thrusts his arms forward and clutches my throat. My eyes swell with tears as I begin to choke. Just before I can't take it anymore, he lets go, grabs my arm, and pulls me out of the room. The hot air turns cold as we move into the hall. Cries of help erupt from the doors that line the passage. The guard walks on, showing no sign of remorse for the countless trapped souls. I begin to trip over my own feet, as I haven't walked in weeks. The ground is freezing, and my feet begin to stick. On we walk...

As Brandi storms out, Krinq turns off the map, which was zoomed in on Germany.

"What the hell is wrong with her?! She seemed fine!"

"I don't know, but I'm gonna go find out..."

I bolt out of my chair and charge out of Krinq's office. As I run out, I hear him murmur something under his breath. It took a lot not to go back in there and knock his teeth out. He knows what we went through, and that she is still trying to let go of those memories.

I walk out into the hallway and shout.

"Brandi? BRANDI!"

Absolute silence. I look down the East and West hallways, and see nothing. A slam breaks the silence as Krinq's office door shuts behind me. Turning around, I see two guards, spears raised, ready to attack. I knew better than to take them on, so I raise my hands in defense. One of them speaks....

"Brandi was escorted outside and Krinq has ordered you to leave. You shall return home, where you will be contacted shortly thereafter."

My eyes shoot from one direction to the next as sweat beads down my neck. I lower my arms, turn around, and run to the elevator platform. I look around and still see no one. The control panel shows all clear and is set on a timer to raise in about thirty seconds. Bolting to the car, I pull out my keys and adjust my eye. The car showed no signs of heat according to the readings, and I begin to worry if Brandi actually was escorted out....

The number of thoughts running through my mind was too high to count. I can't even recount the drive, I just remember shifting gears, as well as going way over the speed limit, but that didn't matter, I needed to get back to the hotel. Only there will I get the answers. I pull through, parked, and ran into the building. The secretaries gave me dirty looks, but they could go fuck themselves. Blatantly avoiding the elevator, I charged up the stairs. The sound of my pounding footsteps echoed through the stairwell, as no one ever chose the path. I skipped the last three steps, and came to a screeching halt at the doorway, which I didn't have the key too. Fuck it, I kicked the door in.

"BRANDI?!"

She was on the bed, asleep. I exhaled as a huge weight was lifted off my chest. Not even a second later, my ear begins to ring. I pull it back, accepting the call.

"Hello?"

"Ziik! I see you made it to your hotel alright. I'm hoping you haven't forgotten about the job..."

"She's not ready to get back into action again. You should be happy she even went to the briefing!"

"She better be ready next time, or you know what's coming. Unless of course, you'd like to take to job yourself..."

"That might have to happen."

"We shall see, but whatever happens, you will be here at noon tomorrow. We can't waste any more time, I need that serum."

"Don't worry."

"You said that last time..."

I didn't know what to say. Luckily I didn't have to say anything. Krinq hung up, leaving me leaning against the wall, full battle gear on, staring at Brandi's unconscious body. She's had visions of that night for the past five years. We were young then and not very well trained, but I was never able to persuade her to go back to Krinq. We swore to avoid him and his corporation at all costs after that, but I couldn't take it. The normal world bore me down, and I needed excitement. I went back and pleaded for him to let me back into the business. He started me out with small jobs: going to collect money, pick up supplies, and occasionally taking down a few gangs. But recently, his business had some very important shipment planes hi-jacked and sent to Germany. They traced the packages to an abandoned warehouse in the middle of nowhere. The place was unheard of, and no one knew what to expect, so they sent two heavy agents in to go get them back. Marherro, a tall, muscular Puerto Rican man with a lot of edge, and Wonda, a large African American lady with a big mouth. They were good agents, not sure how, but they went MIA about four days ago. Krinq wanted to send us in to go find them, and bring the shipments back. And if Brandi is unable to cope with her past, I'll have to take the job alone, whether she likes it or not...

The coldness of the bed sheets comforted me as I rolled over in bed. Then the realization hit me right in the face, how did I end up in bed? I bolt up to find myself in the hotel. The last thing I remembered was walking out of Krinq's office. I look down and see that I'm in my night gown. Who did this? The presence of another was in the air, and before I knew it, I see Ziik walking through the door, drying his hair with a towel. A hot shower sounded nice right about now, but I needed some answers first. Before I could get a word out, he begins speaking...

"Oh, you're awake! Are you alright?"

"What time is it?"

"I'd say three in the morning, but that's not important-"

"Yes it is, I want to know how long I've been laying here."

I smiled as I said it, but he didn't think it was too funny.

"All that's important is that you're alright."

"Yeah, I'm fine, just.....what happened? Did I say anything at Krinqs?"

"You told him to shut up before marching out of the office."

The thought made me chuckle. He threw the towel away before sitting on the bed. He touched my face intimately, and stared deeply into my eyes.

"I'm sorry about what I did, I shouldn't have made you go back."

I didn't know what to say, I just kept staring at him...

"That's why I'm going on the assignment alone."

"No you're not, I'm going too. Whatever we do, we do it together!"

"I don't want you to get hurt! You can't even make it through a briefing Brandi! How do you expect to go on another mission!?"

"I'M GOING!"

He looked away, angered, but quickly looked back and calmed down. More staring, then he leaned forward and kissed me. His lips were soft. I leaned back on the bed, as he leaned forward and continued. All thoughts left my mind, and for the first time in a long time, I felt relaxed. Let's just say it was a good night....

I woke in a cold sweat, panting heavily, the room flooded in darkness. The nightmare I had awoken from slipped my mind the second I opened my eyes. As I got up and prepared for the briefing, flashes of the night flicked across my mind. I pushed them away the best I could, and eventually they went away. I gathered my gear, and opened the shades. Brandi still lay in bed naked, occasionally rolling over and grunting at the sun. It was around nine o'clock, which after a long night of love-making, is very early. I sat back on the bed, contemplating what was going to happen later. Brandi eventually rolled up to me and kissed my cheek. I looked at her, and she smiled back before she spoke...

"Why the hell are you up so early?"

She sounded tired, but happy.

"The briefing's at noon."

A grin spread across my face as her smile fades, leaving a shocked expression. She quickly rolls out of bed and charges into the bathroom. I hear chaos come from the closed door as hair-spray bottles topple, the sink runs, and the hair dryer blows. But the visions of the nightmares still haunted my mind. I pushed them away as she stumbled out of the bathroom, looking as ready as she ever has been.

"Let's go!"

I chuckled before saying...

"Don't you want something to eat first?"

Another abrupt look of shock.

"Shit"

She walked back into the bathroom. I heard the mini fridge open as she dug around for something to eat. She came back out with a poptart, and stuck half of it in her mouth before speaking again....

"Now let's go!"

"Alright alright..."

I got up, put on my shades and grabbed the keys. We were out of the door and into the car within seconds, and by the time we closed the doors, she finished eating. I look over as she takes her last bite.

"You alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine why?"

"You seem......happier than usual."

"I know I......I weirded out. But after thinking about it last night, I realized this could be interesting...."

"I'm glad you see it from my perspective now. You've just got to let go of the past. None of that matters anymore-"

"It's not the fact that it matters, it's the fact that it could happen again!"

In my mind I knew she was right, but I didn't want what happened last time to happen again. Krinq might be on edge after what Brandi did the other day, and with the way his business is going, he doesn't want to deal with anything.

This job shouldn't be too hard, but it's Brandi's first in years. But we were born Loktigs, and I'm sure she's ready to fight....

As the guard led me forward, the smell of cigars grew stronger and stronger. I could not help but think that this may be my time. He could be getting tired of holding me, and needs space for more prisoners. The sight of a gun barrel to my forehead did not frighten me. This place was worse than death...

We come to the door. It read "Krinq Delgomor." Ornamental designs of cybernetics covered the surface. The images still haunt my memories, knowing that most of the parts lie somewhere within me. I don't remember much about my first death, but Krinq always seems to bring up how he 'saved' us all. He claims to have done it out of the good of his heart, but all he really wanted was for his corporation to get some attention. After rebuilding all of us after the riot slaughters, he kept us as his own, putting us to work at the age of thirteen. Some escaped, though most stayed and obeyed his orders. Those that escaped started a rebellion against the industry. I led them on, but we met our end at war in Japan, where we were sent back here after our forces were defeated. He kept us here for the past five years, trapped in his lower cells. I still can't believe the active agents are so naive to not see through him. He was using our abilities to get his business to the top. But I still know one active agent that sees Krinq for the man he is. She was an incredible agent, and one that I would have convinced to join the rebellion if it wasn't for her significant other....

Another guard comes and opens the door, gesturing me to go into the room. I stand still, not moving a muscle. The thought of walking through the doorway sickened me. It seemed he had no patience, and thrust me through the door, causing me to fall flat on my face. The ground was carpet, and felt lovely compared to the prison cell floors. I could have laid there all day, but I had to get up. Krinq sounded from across the room.

"Ah, Mr. Yolmato! You're finally here!"

My anger and hatred returned as I lifted myself off the floor.

"What do you want, Krinq?"

"The question is what do you want?"

I show a sign of questioning as he continues...

"You still can't recognize a good compromise, can you? Just look what happened in Japan. Four of my agents killed, and one severely scarred for life. What more could you do, hhmm? I think you could have done better. You were such a good agent."

"Get to the point."

"Do you want your freedom, Mr. Yolmato? Another chance to start over, forget the past, and not betray those who have helped you in times of great need? There is no greater reward for you than the one I'm offering right now..."

"You're going to set me free? After all these years, you're going to just let me go?!"

"If you complete one last job. Now please, take a seat."

I obliged and awaited my freedom mission to be presented to me...

The car barrels down the road as I look over at the clock. 11:37 AM. The path seemed to stretch on forever, it almost seemed longer than it had ever been before. I could not help but think that this next mission was going to be the start of many more, and that Ziik was just going to keep on nodding his head every time we were offered a job. I always knew Kring would shove his way back into our lives somehow, but it hasn't been that long since our last assignment. It was quite surprising to have found out Ziik was lying to me for months, but it all clicked as soon as he gave. The countless 'meetings' and 'business trips' all made sense. But that's the past, and it doesn't matter now. He's alive and well, and we're doing what we were made to do again. I guess I should be thankful for a little excitement being thrown back at us.

Every time the tires turned, my hatred for the boss grew stronger. I never forgave 'father' for what he put us through that night, and I never will. Maybe if he hadn't been so money-hungry, the rebellion would never have even started. The war started because of him, and ended because of us. We fought, and we died. He sat his fat ass behind a chair and enjoyed the show. He didn't care about us, he cared about the company, and for Ziik to still not see through his lies infuriated me inside. If only I had joined the rebellion, maybe he would've followed. We might've even taken down the industry together. After all this time, maybe Yolmato was right...

The sun disappears behind the blackened clouds as heavy rain drops begin to splatter across the windsheild. The drive to the facility seemed to be taking a whole lot longer than usual. As I shifted the gears, Brandi slept in the passanger seat as usual. Though I try and fight them, the flashes of last night's dream kept returning everytime I closed my eyes to blink. My cybernetic eyes would not let go of the images. All I saw was death and terror, blood and tears, agony and defeat. I wondered if these images were ones of the future or of the past. Or worse, both. I do not remember much of the Japan War, as my memory chip was damaged in the battle, but it could very well be lost data just now getting through.

As God's tears overcome the strength of the windshield, the outside became impossible to see. I pulled over to try to wait out the brewing storm. Pulling back my ear, I dial Krinq, as it is almost 12 PM, and we're not even close to the location. What I hear when he picks up was not expected at all. Screams and pulse hits fill my ears...

"Krinq? Are you there?!"

There's no response for at least ten seconds, again, all I hear is screams.

"ZIIK!! Where the hell are you?! This place is under attack!! Get your ass down here now!!!"

"What the hell's going on over ther-"

Before I was able to finish, an explosion blasts my ears.

"Krinq?!"

No answer. I pull onto the road and put the pedal to the metal. Brandi awakens from the sudden acceleration...

"What the hell are you doing!?"

"The facilitie's under attack, we have to get there quick."

"What's going on?!"

"I don't know, all I heard over the call were screams and explosions."

"God dammit."

She leans turns around and grabs the weapons from the back seat.

"What the hell could it be? Another riot?"

"Couldn't really be anything else, but we won't know until we get there."

Lightning flashes across the sky as the car launches down the road like a missile.

"Could it be the rebellion?"

She chuckled after she said it, but I couldn't help but take it seriously. When Yolmato was captured after the war, he swore to exact revenge. Well, it's been five years, and it could very well be the return of the rebellion....
