Just theorizing Hasbro's upcoming shenanigans off the top of my head again. :)
But since Hasbro changes their packaging quite frequently, I wanted to know what all of you thought of them possibly coming up with a new packaging scheme similar to Marvel Legends, where some kind of "build-a-something" accessory would be included.
Let's say, "Collect all five figures in this wave to build a vehicle." or something like that.
Think it would catch on. . .or flop?

I like the idea. Even some sort of build a super joe or cobra would be keen. Seems like half of us dismantle our Joes for customs, etc anyways. :P

It might work as build a vehicle, like a C.L.A.W. or S.N.A.K.E. good idea.
But I really prefer the "mail away" promos.
I still love getting things in the mail.

They could do. . .both at the same time. ;)
. . .
But then C.I.A.D.'s head would explode. :D

deluxe smaller sets/vehicles like the snake or claw or even the watchtower would be the purchase--the build-a-bonus?

LMAO + WIN!!!
That makes the raw ambition of the "save Doc" theme pale by comparison. :D You literally would have to travel all over the world to put the parts together.

This is a fantastic idea!!! BYO snake!!!
but even a claw, trubble bubble, bivuoac, forward observer, missile defense, etc. would be killer!! anything as an incentive

Ok, this would be a good idea, but just imagine the angst of trying to find the ONE figure you need to finish the BYO object.
Imagine, say, they put out a series full of repaints except for one new mold, and that one new mold gets bought up at exceptional rates by scalpers...I just think it'd add another level of angst to the whole issue. Also they'd probably have to modify the packaging somehow to include pieces big enough to make a SNAKE or a bivouac/forward observer/mortar post or what have you.

the idea of this aspect would be fun...but hasbro's execution of distributing these items on the market would suck.
Then we would have a whole new thread on nobody getting that one piece or some fool scalper, collector - whoever hogging them all.
It would never end.

Is there acually talk of it or just wishful thinking?

See my disclaimer in post #1.
I agree with Flash. Collecting toys used to be so simple and fun, then somewhere along the line it became a competition. :(
You might say I was just playing devil's advocate with the thread. If distribution weren't an issue, then I'd be all for it.

I like the S.N.A.K.E. armour idea. I remember the first time I got S.N.A.K.E. armour...good times good times.
Anyway that would be a cool idea. I won't hold my breath.
