Iron Grenadier Destro is by far, the coolest looking of the bunch in this wave. He is all new with the same head sculpt, but this time it's been metalized in a gold color. The detail on this figure is great and makes this figure look like a great update of the original with a few surprises the original didn't have. The left leg sports a holster with rubber flap to hold in the revolver and the removable belt with sword sheath can store the removable sword. Destro comes with Revolver, Belt, Sword and Cobra Stand.
Finally! A removable sword! It's been a constant thorn in my side that the original V2 Destro had a sword that was forever confined to it's sheath, but now not only do we get a great update to that figure, we now have a properly working sword for him to use. I'm not too big on the gold revolver and the cloth cape can get in the way a bit, but it's still cooler looking than the scrap of material we got with the original. If you're a fan of the Iron Grenadiers, this Destro's for you.
Figure Rating: 10 out of 10
Great review Shogi!
Yes, by far one of the best in the line so far. If you don't have one, you NEED one!

This is an excellent figure, by any standards. I just never liked the original, or the Battle Armor CC.
I only display my definitive versions of figures, and this one never did it for me.
Although I agree, that it's a great update and sculpt, right up there with Battle Armour CC.
The one consistent aesthetic flaw besides Duke arms in this line is that they use real cloth for capes, which at this scale, looks silly.
They don't do it for loin cloths and long "skirts" on jackets, for some reason...I'd much rather see molded, lightweight rubber/plastic capes like Marvel Legends Thor/Magneto/etc. That's about the only improvement they could make to this Destro.

I always thought this figure was cool as a kid, but never had him. When I finally got the old one in lot with misc. other 'Joes, I too thought it was dumb that he came with a sword that he couldn't use. Now that I have this one I think it's a MUCH improved update to the orginal. Now, here's hoping they re-release his vehicle too!

(P.S.): Hey, has anyone tried to put this figure inside the Destro's Despoiler vehicle? If he can fit inside that, I'll TOTALLY look to score one on the secondary market.

had to do some creative safety pinning to get that cape under control...i do so hate soft goods on a figure....but other than that a phenominal figure. 9/10 (damn you soft cape!)

Great review!
There isn't a variant for this one, you're thinking of the Comic Pack version which has a blue hued body instead of a black one like the single pack here

I actually opened this one yesterday since I did not have any other styles of Destro and needed a Destro for my most recent diorama (check customs forum).
I was pleasently surprised by this one. Probably the best quality joe I have yet! Really impressed. Glad I opened this one!

This figure is why I can't stand cheap Hasbro repaints/parts reuse. They show us something like this and then expect they can get away with that crappy Steeler, Grunt or Short Fuze? We know you can do better!
Great review!

Exactly, cloth capes don't hold up too well. Besides that it's one of the best 25th Joes.

Definitely in my top 5 best figures from this line. I remember how we were all blown away when pics of this fig first starting showing up. Hats off to Hasbro on this one.

Yeah I agree with the 10/10 for this figure. This was one of the first figures that I opened and was totally like WOW. He just seemed so quality and solid. I was really impressed and thought if they could only but this much effort into ALL the figures man would this line really be cool(which it still is by the way).

nice review and i agree this is the best iron destro yet!
I bought this one and stuck the comic head on him since it has red eyes adding to how awesoe it is. try it out then get rid of the other destro since he now sucks! the grey comic destro is not the image that is crafted by hama wearing grey like some no frills soldier. destro has always been the posh spice of cobra and lets keep it that way. after all that is why we all own pimp daddy destros isnt it?

I love this Destro & I am a total suker for soft goods...
I love them on Star Wars & I love them oN joes, so the soft good capes is a big PLUS for me!!
My only complaint about this figure is he doesn't have the double jointed knees, which seems to be constant on a lot of bigger figures in these types of lines.
