Rolling Thunder headquarters roll out

I never loved the missile part of rolling thunder, so I decided to update one to my space marines joe-vers
I had one when i was a kid and sold it..... so first I had to re-purchase..... $60 later on ebay

I started with the basic body removed the wheels. the side ramps we also kinda odd so I scraped a Bradley and a M113 APC for the side ramps

I used the Bradley turret because there were no hatches on the old roiling thunder

I cut the bottom and added a new floor, I recently saw some one working on a RT( rolling thunder ) and had dropped the floor, that did not work with my ramp idea so I built a new top from styrene to alow head room

i used the seats from the bradley built in some monitors
added some computers and used the pack and seat bench from the M113 APC

i could not understand a military vehicle with huge glass windshields so i painted and them added the frames and dremeled some rivet holes

I always thought the Rolling Thunder was a a cool vehicle but had a lot of flaws. It seems like you fixed em. Awesome work. I would like to see this one complete.

I like how you made the cockpit look more armored than all clear. I agree with you on why would you make the cockpit all glass. Sure bulletproof windshields would work but really? How about stopping shape charge rounds? Nice job and am looking forward to the completed project.

well in a distant world fighting acid bleeding aliens and the largest foe would be a Queen so size of your gun needs to be appropriate to the size of your enemy. I can also tell you big guns run out of ammo faster.

Is that styrene your using around the side door moldings and windshield?
If you dont mind me asking what kinda glue do you use?

I use Zap-a-Gap the stuff works ok on styrene and vinyl, but if you get it on your skin its tough to get off
yes i used styrene for the door jams and window trim

I am working on a 10 vehicle 50 fig space marines dio, if Joe con gets out to Cali i'll do that one.... its to much work and cost to try and ship and coordinate

The rear Gatling guns are from swampmasher, I was so pleased that the gun mount fit inside the hole for the seat mount
I did have to drill out the middle of the seat mount, and remove the center peg, but when I first stuck in it in and it fit perfect I was so glad
