Post up any suggestions you have for the system. Not individual figure changes, but rather - the way things are laid out, cross linked, different ways of browsing, new entry fields to keep track of, etc.

We may not do them all, and we may not do them immediately if we do, but this will give us a running tally of things you guys are interested in. And things to mark down on our behind the scenes "to do list".

Later!

I think it's missing a 12" corner for the Toy Database.

12 inch, sigma 6 (8 and 2.5 inch), convention exclusives, and vintage are all not done yet.

Eventually, we will put them all in.

Whenever they are viewed by year or theme, they are listed alphabetically, which is the quickest way to find a figure. Is it possible to also view them by the wave that they were in, or the order they were released throughout the year. Being able to quickly figure out which wave that a figure was in, or what other figures were in their wave can help to explain there scarcity or lack there of years later.

You guys are doing it already, but please remember to keep taking those pictures that show all the accessories!

That one pic is a big resource all by itself!

Will do, and will go back to the ones we missed and get accessory shots of them too.

Right now, not possible. But we can look into making wave info it's own field and sortable down the road.

Thank you for the response.

I know that these are a pipe dream but:
A few other things that interest me when searching a Joe database are:
1. Figure variants next to each other in the same picture.
2. A list with of all of the other figures that share parts in common with that figure. This can help a lot when part searching for customs.
3. A list of all the Julian dates that have been found stamped into the packaging for that particular figure. This helps for identifying variants and figuring how long a figure was in production.

Pics of the known variants of each item would be awesome. The community could probably help fill in a lot of those gaps. The only listings I've noticed so far have been only text.

Great work and photos. Love this site. Been lurking for a while.

It's a lot of work, but it'd be really helpful to see all the obviously different versions of a character in the same photo, side-by-side to show the evolution of engineering, scale differences and different sculpts and factory kitbashes.

Can you please move the Database Sidebar boxes BELOW the recent thread topics?

I always read those but now they're halfway down the page and I don't notice them them most of the time.

Thanks for the list, I was going to try and get something together similar for myself actually.

For the DB - we have a similar but not exact page here:

Listing of Every G.I. Joe Figure Name - Database Index Pages (http://www.hisstank.com/database/database-index-pages-127/listing-of-every-gi-joe-figure-name-2516/)

These are simplified names as we use them to cross link in the system, so not exact. But allows you to see all versions of each name when clicking.

Can you please move the Database Sidebar boxes BELOW the recent thread topics?

I always read those but now they're halfway down the page and I don't notice them them most of the time.
Said this earlier, will post again:

We will probably do that, just want to give it some play since it's new. After it's old hat and known by the masses, will move down since the new threads list will more frequently be looked at.

1. Figure variants next to each other in the same picture.
2. A list with of all of the other figures that share parts in common with that figure. This can help a lot when part searching for customs.

Pics of the known variants of each item would be awesome. The community could probably help fill in a lot of those gaps. The only listings I've noticed so far have been only text.

This is something we can add, but many times we will not have them in hand ourselves to do during photo shoots. So any that we put up, will have to come from the fans.

If any of you have variants that you can take a pic of side by side, please do so, attach it here, and we will move it over to the database, crediting you of course.

For things like this, it doesn't need to be "pure white", just the best pic you can muster up. And you can start a new thread for each submission you do.

3. A list of all the Julian dates that have been found stamped into the packaging for that particular figure. This helps for identifying variants and figuring how long a figure was in production.

2 - We talked about this, and possibly down the road we will get into this, but it is a lot of work. So for now, we've skipped it to make sure we could have a solid launch. But - request noted.

3 - We have some on some, we will need fan input to add any that aren't there now. If you know that data, and see a page without it, just post up a new thread with the data, and we can copy it in.

B.A.T. 2008 - 25th / Modern Cobra Figures G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary / Modern (http://www.hisstank.com/database/25th--modern-cobra-figures-63/bat-2000/)
On the Bat it has a picture of the Canadian carded figure. It doesn't make mention of that in the listing. A little confusing to people who may have not seen the Canadian cards before.
Also the additional info is the same as the filecard info at the top of the listing.

Sorry, must have missed that. That's completely understandable.

My apologizes.

Thanks, will put it on the list, and note that situation for the other 25ths with Canadian cards.

The file card info is fixed. As far as the card info goes, if you open the file it is marked Canadian.

I always read those but now they're halfway down the page and I don't notice them them most of the time.

I have to really strongly agree with this. The idea of a database is a great resource, but it really confuses the layout of the site for me, and I'm sure a lot of others who mainly only look at the new topic on the left front page column. Honestly, it feels a little too Facebook timeline ie: unnecessary and confusing.

The database already has a section at the top of the page, but if you want to feature it my suggestion would be to move it to the right side of the screen where the "GI Joe on Ebay Now!" section is. Because honestly, unless Hisstank is getting some kind of kickback from ebay, I don't think I've paid attention to that column once and I'm sure not the only one. Most of us search for the specific things we are looking for at any given time and have no interest in a random selection of 8 different auctions. So at least in my opinion, that section is somewhat useless. However, if you had a random selection of 8 different figures from the database that had thumbnail/preview images I bet it would encourage more people to check out the database. Once they had an idea of the kind of things they could find in it.

This is not really a suggestion for the database, but might be included in it in some way... it would be nice to have a link to the flashback articles somewhere. There's some good pics and info in those.

I also would like to see what figs were in what wave including refreshes. And case count too.

Let me know if all the date stamps will be listed. I'll start checking and sending any that aren't listed

Is it possible to have a vintage foreign section? I love to go to the Vintage Discussion section, but find that it is always full of foreign figure posts. I, along with many others do not collect foreign or care about every little detail posting. I understand that they are popular and vintage, but feel that there is such a following that they deserve their own section.

I really hope to one day bring you a database section for foreign figures. But right now we are still trying to finish up the vintage sections of the site.

I am wondering if anyone would be interested in sharing a project that I have been working on for several years.

I have a sizable 3 3/4 Joe collection (And Marvel U and Star Wars), but storing the figures safely was an issue for many years. I found that clear tackle boxes were a cheap and easy way of storing my figures without losing accessories or breaking them. I currently favor Rubbermaid medium storage bins, which are about 4$ each can can hold 12 figures each.

Rubbermaid Medium Storage Box: Storage & Organization : Walmart.com (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Rubbermaid-Medium-Storage-Box/17208933)

Inspired by the GIJOE collector case where each character's slot was identified by name, I created stickers for each character with their name, year, and affiliation, etc. But over time, I started to get into designing these "backing cards" to be more elaborate including their bio info and card designs. See these examples. Usually the pages are laid out with figures in the same series but these are a grab bag of different styles.

http://i1175.photobucket.com/albums/r621/color-viper/2012-2_zps7a9b22b2.jpg

Anyway, I am wondering if anyone else is interested in using these backing cards I've designed. Maybe the cards could be part of the Hisstank database. I don't have one for every single character out there but I have quite a lot of them.
