I went out of the country in 1986 and didn't come back till November of 1990 so imagine my surprise when I find out there was a G.I.Joe animated movie in the discount bins at Kaybee and suddenly the newer Joe cartoons seemed different and sounded weird, so I go:
1) According to various sources G.I.Joe The Movie skipped theaters and was aired in April 1987, but how did kids know when to look for it? was there an ad in TV Guide? was it aired during the weekends?
2) When were the Sgt.Slaughter live action intros and commercial bumpers added to the reruns? was it around the same time as Transformers when they added a puppet Powermaster Optimus Prime introducing episodes alongside a kid for their season 5?
3) Same thing with G.I.Joe The Movie, how were kids aware of when to watch Operation Dragonfire? was there a voiceover during the regular Joe cartoon saying "hey kids after 2 years of reruns get ready for 5 additional G.I.Joe episodes before going back to reruns again"
