Horrorshow vs. Pathfinder GIJOE March Madness 2012
Pathfinder
Pathfinder's father was a Korean War veteran who taught him the finer points of military reconnaissance. He was not considered to be too young to learn how to rough it out in the wild swamps of Florida that it enabled him to breeze through much of the Army jungle training. It came to the point where he's teaching everyone including the instructors what jungle survival is all about. Soon thereafter, he got his certification as a jungle assault specialist and went on his way to become part of the Joe Team.
The Oktober Guard often operates internationally, protecting and promoting Soviet and Warsaw Pact interests. Despite the fact their respective countries are rivals with the United States during the Cold War, the members of the Oktober Guard are never portrayed as evil, but as military professionals doing their job and serving their country. Their missions often put them at odds with G.I. Joe, but opposing Cobra is a major objective for the squad, and when the situation arises, they often find themselves temporarily allied with the Joes against a common foe.

I voted for Pathfinder. Along with Ambush, he was always one of my favorite Joes from that time period.

I disliked Pathfinder when i was a kid, but would actually like one now. Horrowshow is cool and all, but the Russians never really were favorites of mine. I prefer the American Joes. No offense to any Russians.

I'll 2nd that! And if they make a figure I'll take him down to Red Square and get a picture with him and Red Star.
I want Pathfinder just as bad, but the Russian winter is starting to get in my bones! We got 10 inches this weekend!
ХОРОШО! Horrowshow
(ХОРОШО! which is pronounced Ha Ra show means Good, OK, Good Job in Russian)

interesting that these two are so close... these votes are all over the place, so hard to assume it's a fair popularity contest, but a top name OG vs a third tier Joe? Didn't think it would be close.
Voted for Pathfinder though... never read the books, so OGs are lost on me. Third tier weird-ass Joes? Bring 'em on!

Horror show has cool name. Reminds me of clockwork orange.

Don't know a darned thing about Pathfinder. Horrorshow was great fun in the comics and that's an excellent custom.

Horrorshow, but only to support sub-groups.

My favorite Pathfinder episode is the one where he and Cobra Commander are handcuffed together. That episode was a laugh riot. I need for Hasbro to produce a Pathfinder action figure so that I can reenact my favorite moments from that episode.

Pathfinder only because Horroshow would not be made correct. He would be skinny, not round. Just stick with a custom or the comic pack I have.

Gotta disagree there. With the use of separate rubberized "vests" on ME figures, they could make Horrorshow as bulky as they want (though I hope they wouldn't overdo it).
No contest for me. I'm a fan of the OG's and want as many unproduced characters from the original comic run as possible, while Pathfinder is the only member of the Elite 8 that I had never heard of before this month.

I like both but I gave the edge to Horrorshow. Horrorshow is a character I remember from the comics and cartoons. I would love for another Russian besides Red Star to be made.
Pathfinder looks cool. I would love to have him but I never had any sentimental feelings towards him.
I understand why people need Pathfinder in their collections, but goshdarnitallfolks it's Horrorshow! How is he not killing it?

That's intentional you know.... the author of A Clockwork Orange was also a linguist & he used a lot of made up language in the book/movie based on a mixture European languages. In the book/movie Horrorshow means good, that's based on the russian "khorosho" meaning good.
soomka.com/nadsat.html
Hama (and other writers) did the same in the comics, using Horrorshow as a play on a misunderstood russian word.
Don't mean to condescend if you already knew that; just sharing some trivia...
