I bought a 3 pack of these years back, I wanted the movie, so I never gave them much look, plus Duke and Storm Shadow were Ninja Force esc, so I couldn't really judge them, but I ordered that Zarana Gung Ho pack from China a few weeks ago, well, I just got it, it ain't half bad at all.

Now, I'm mostly a modern collector, as I only had Ninja Force as a kid, but I rather like this. New costumes, new molding, but the ARAH style construction. They don't look 30th great, but they look nice enough for what I believe was 15 or 20AUD for a 2 back back in the Armada/Energon days. Lack of wrist swivel is a tad annoying, but they stand well, have soft hands like modern and look pretty good with Modern. I thought the shoulders, being freaking huge, would bother me, but as Zarana is already pretty mean looking and Gung Ho is a big guy, they suit them.

I think I might track down some of the other figures from this era. They aren't perfect, but if Modern never came into existence, I'd be pretty happy with this.

Lately, I've been appreciating the 2002-2008 new sculpt figures, playsets and figures that I collected when they were released. I bought a good share of toys from those years and I've been buying missing items since last year.

Welcome to the Home of the R.A.H.C. Guide! (http://www.rahcguide.com/) is a good source for people that want to collect this era, check off what they have or use to organize collections. It has really helped me appreciate these toys a lot more.

Most (60%) of the vehicles were good.

Most (90%) of the figures were bad. Really bad.

Both vehicles and figures were hit and miss for me. They all had odd proportions at times. The vehicles resembled Tonka toys, and the figures were terribly disproportioned in spite of some really cool design elements.

I was all about it at first, but the novelty wore off for me. 25th anniversary brought me back full circle

I hated a lot of the figures costume design elements. Whatever creator that came up with them probably thought they were stylish, but they were horrible. I'm talking about men's lapelle's crossing the wrong side, short-sleeve turtleneck sweaters, wiiide neck t-shirts, midriff length jackets on men, the militaristic dogi with the chinese buttons...so much was just fuckin awful.

Just the opposite for me. After collecting 25th/ME figures the novelty wore off and then I refocused only on o-ring figures.
