It's a really cool figure. I just don't like it as Rock n Roll. To me the great thing about Sideshow (other than the amazing detail) is the fact that every character is instantly recognizable. If I seen this on the shelf I wouldn't see it as RnR.

The original head shown, I agree. The bandana head looks more like the R'n'R I envision.

Cool guys, glad you’re enjoying the pics. Hope y’all that orderd him will get him soon because surprisingly he’s my favorite right now. The new body feels fantastic. Posing him has been great so far. (No ratchet knees :)) His alternate head is awesome so if you want an OG13 looking R’N’R you should get the exclusive.

The exclusive head, imo would be a must with this. The regular portrait looks NOTHING like Rock n' Roll to me, and that is pretty damn shady, imo. I'm not upset that I passed on him, honestly. I love Rock n' Roll, but you shouldn't have to buy the exclusive to get the figure you want. The exclusive should be a cool extra.

Nice!!! I just picked up my first Sideshow figure this past week. It was the 1st version of Snake Eyes. Unfortunately, it was not the exclusive version though. In addition, I will have all of the exclusive versions of Stalker, Duke, Beach Head, Dusty & Flint to be delivered tomorrow & the exclusive version of Rock 'N' Roll to be delivered on Saturday. Now I need to get Hawk and then I will be caught up with the 8 Joes that are out. I don't know if I want to start picking up the Cobra guys as this is an expensive hobby. Perhaps if I can sell my modern era collection with every character apart from RoC Kamakura, then I could afford the Sideshow Cobra guys. Do most here collect both scales or just stick with one?

Got my EX yesterday...will set him up this weekend and take some shots with my other Joes.

I, too, collect both 1/6th and 1/18th Joe lines. Don't sell your collections!!! I made the mistake of selling my ARAH 0-Ring collection a few years back and regret it.

Got mine too. The exclusive headsculpt is excellent!

The regular one pales in comparison, which is too bad, because I think it just wasn't painted as well. It would make a decent Breaker or Clutch though, if they decided to reuse it.

I love the modern M60, 7.62 belts and ammo boxes. I hated quite a bit of the reused gear. I'm really tired of seeing that cartoon rifle, for one, and that little knife and sheath... ugh, that sheath SUCKS. Toss it, Sideshow. It doesn't work, and no, I won't use crazy glue on it, either. Mine's sitting in the box.

I was forgiving when it came with Dusty, because I though that "dirt" overspray was preventing the velcro from sticking, but it turns out that it's just a piss poor design.

I've gotten almost every Sideshow figure so far (just missing the Desert Cobras), and I'm going to try and review each one as they come...

Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot other GI Joe stuff to talk about though. Might dig out some of my vintage in the meantime...

I got mine this weekend. I do think the exclusive is the way to go, based on the nicer painting of the head sculpt.

Now that I have RnR in hand...some thoughts:

Glows:
+Love the EX head sculpt...definitely the way to go when displaying him. You can even fit the helmet over it.
+Ammo pouches and ammo boxes (actual cardboard box)
+web gear and backpack (love the worn out brown look)
+M60 with custom "Snake-Charmer" and Rock/Roll graphics
+Black beret and unit patches (love how they standardized this for all the Joes and gave them berets, even though they don't match real world unit colors)
+Locals Only red tshirt underneath his BDUs
+Tatoo of the guitar and wings
+New body type with better detail in the arms and no ratchet knees

Grows:
-Ditch the knife sheath...didn't work on Dusty, doesn't work here. I would have preferred the Viper version and option to attach it to his backpack
-Regular portrait head...looks too young and clean cut for RnR.
-Bullet belts...should have gone with metal, not the cheap rubber strips that don't connect very well. I've had to tuck in the belts in the backpack (looking at other pics, it seems they fit better when you take off the web gear)
-Price...RnR came in at almost $150 with shipping and everything. I would prefer a lower price point for the green shirts - especially if they decide to do Flash, Breaker, Grunt, Short Fuze or Zap in the future.

Overall, another great addition to the Joe line. I love how they are doing all the OG13. He makes a great addition to my collection and is highly recommended for those wanting to jump into the 1/6th Joe collection.

I just ordered the exclusive head. I couldnt stand the standard edition anymore. It just wasnt RnR for me with the standard head. I usually get these at $120 each from my local comic guy but its always the standard edition.
In this case I should have paid the extra for the EX version. This is only the 2nd exclusive ive purchased (Cobra Commander being the other)

I have all of the Sideshow collectibles released and I have to say that this would probably rank about 3rd on my favorite list, just behind Firefly and Dusty, the new body sculpt is awesome and the figure really only has minor flaws compared to most of the Sideshow Collectibles. I love the Ninjas they have been releasing, now only if they could release a camouflage ninja and incorporate it in some way I would be in heaven. Oh yeah, bring on Blowtorch or Outback!

I just have mine trapped behind his backpack they arent actually closed. Gluing them may be the only fix cause the connection isnt very good IMO.
