Avengers Iron Man Firestrike Assault Jet

Heres a short review of the recently released Avengers Iron Man Firestrike Assault Jet.

The jet comes disassembled with parts of cannons and wings need to be put together.

Its a direct repaint of the previously released Justice Jet from the Captain America movie toys. Only thia time the jet carries IM's colors (red, silver & gold).

It comes with the IM mkVI with only 5pt articulation as a pilot.

The figure has fair paint apps applied.
But in my opinion, hasbro should have included another figure to pilot this jet (maybe Hawkeye) as IM can already fly.

Decals are painted on the parts so sticker sheets is not included.

I specially like the big "A" decals of the wings.

Cockpit opens to allow IM (or any1:18 fig) to fit well inside.

At the bottom, mounted are the cannons with spring loaded missles that deploys once switches are pressed.

Cannons can rotate 360degrees and can point laterally in different directions.

Also under the jet, the landing gears at front can be deployed.

But once deployed, cannons can no longer rotate as the wheels block the way.

One gripe I have is that landing gears are only available at the front.
The wings provide the means to land. And by the looks of it, its not supposed to roll to park.

Another feature of the jet is the VTOL blades which swings to simulate vertical take-off and landing.

During flight it swings to simulate forward movement on air.

Comparisons? Heres the jet with other similar sized GI Joe alpha class vehicles...

At comparison, its quite bigger than the alpha class vehicles.

As for comparibility with my Joeverse, the jet fits the Cobra armory with other similar colored vehicles.

Im definitely liking this vehicle.
In terms of playability, it fits well in my MU and Joeverse.
In terms of value, a one seater jet this size is big compared with other alpha class vehicles at the same price.
The pilot, hasbro should have included a non-flying pilot fig (ie Hawkeye or Blackwidow).

I'd recommend this to a MU collector.
Pick this before you get CA's Goliath.

don't know how much this repaint is but the original is $10 clearance at target. just bought it the other day. Not a bad toy at all.

I agree it should have had a different pilot. Hasbro should also start making SHIELD (versions) of vehicles with SHIELD agents. Hydra too.

Not to nitpick but the alpha vehicles were cheaper than I have seen this thing priced. ($14 vs. $19 for the jet).

Being a straight repaint I say pass an wait for clearence, not worth it for something already released.

here in the philippines, alpha vehicles are priced at 1,000Php SRP...
this vehicle with its size, IMO, is worth for the same price of 1,000Php...
1USD = 44Php

Just curious, are there any handles in the cockpit for a pilot to hold or does he just sit there grabbing air?

No handles in the cockpit. It really is a great vehicle. I have 3 already. Had a fourth, but talked myself into returning it (until they go on clearance, if they do).

My major complaint is that the bottom part of the engine isn't painted gold, too, and the landing gear is confusing (front is a wheel, but it is suppose to land on the wing tips in the back?). I also agree that Hawkeye or Black Widow should have come with it. I really like this paint job, especially over the Cap version. Would love a SHIELD version. I contemplated mixing the blue top part of a Cap jet w/ the bottom grey body of this jet, and putting some SHIELD stickers from the Avengers Lego sets over Cap's stars.

Picked up the vehicle, but wasn't exactly thrilled with its minimally-articulated Iron Man.

Move over Mr. Stark, Crimson Guard No. 1 is going in commando!

The As and such come off with a little thinner and some rubbing. I tossed IM and replaced him with a Zombie Viper. It still needs a couple of stickers, but it makes a great Firebat update.

I think someone repainted one as an updated Firebat.
