V was a mini-series, then a couple of movies, then a short-lived show.

This could be good, on par with BSG, if done right.

Sci-Fi has always been known for having strong female characters, it's taken the other genres longer to catch up.

Dale Arden from Flash Gordan, Erin Grey's character from Buck Rodgers (the name escapes me at the moment), Andromeda from the original BSG.

V scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. This could be good (BSG) or horribly bad (Knight Rider, Flash Gordon). I wish we could really get some new ideas out there. It just seems like one re make after another, and the majority are awful. I hope V rocks, it has the potential to be really awesome.

i got the pilot or what ever that started the show on dvd, i found it few years ago an was like YES!! i loved that show man. its cool that they are bringin it back out , but it wont be as cool as the oiginal was! it jus aint gonna be the same! i wish we had v figures man like in the pilot! the kids are all playin wit em , an mean while they are takin over eath for the water suply haha, an freddy kruger um robert england or whatever was a good reptilian alien an fell in love wit the one girl, that was a great show man!

I'm talking about the new Clone Wars movie and TV show. Anakin's apprentice. I guess she would be a co-lead w/ Obi-Wan and Anakin.

I actually meant lead in the show. Not supporting actor. Erin Grey would be a supporting actor to Gil Gerrard's lead.

It wasn't commonplace for a woman to be the lead in an action series since action is usually aimed at men.

I know there are exceptions. I'm just saying.

And V rocked! It scared the crap outta me when I was a kid too!

I just bought the sequal to the book (2008) by the same aucthor who wrote the origal. i am 50 pages through and it is awseome so far.
No donavon yet, but Diana is in it!

Are you kidding. Besides g i joe watching v with my dad is one of my favorite memories from childhood!!! I own both mini-series plus the tv box set dvd's. This was the best show, period!!!!!

well Echo I too loved V back in the day and used ot have all the movies and miniseries, but lets face facts...what made the show great and the characters may possible be changed (like starbuck and boomer becoming women etc.) is my biggest worry when they say they are gonna remake a classic show. I just wanna know one thing...whos gonna play willy (Robert Englunds character) and will they have the woman who has the half human half alien kid? and whos gonna play mike donovan. please god dont let this be V 20 years later.

I wonder if they'll make figures again? I picked up a 12 inch Visitor at a flea market when i was little, and it was bad ass! it has a removable rubber full headed mask, and a gun and a pair of shades(both of which i lost )...but i still got the figure in his red costume!

my fear with anything new is an overabundance of CGI, especially on TV, it just looks ridiculously cheap...

So far they've done pretty well with Terminator, SCC, but you can tell they don't have nearly the budget of the movies when they do have effects. That's the nature of TV and the higher the def, the worse it looks when it's done cheap (reference just about any Sci-Fi original movie).

the show rocked. I just found out about it and man am I ever happy. I remember as a kid running around with lazertag guns playing V. LOL.... man I feel old now. I'm telling you guys, it's the 80's all over again!

You had Lazertag? No fair.

Back to topic, the original had it all. Marc Singer, Robert Englund, hot chicks, space ships and lizard people. I hope they do it justice and not completely change the story and characters like BSG.
A cameo or two would be nice.

And for God's sake, no F#$#$i$$ CGI. Please spend a few dollars and use SFX makeup. And please, models, models, MODELS!!! I am sick of all those ( bab 5, BSG,etc) shows with cartoon ships and bag CGI mixed with real actors. Bring back the models. Dr who, V, Airwolf, A-team all had real S@#$T, not cheap computer crap effects!!

Another Hollywood reboot...sad. We need new stories not different narrators. I love the show and would be very interested in a continuation or a side story, but they have to stop remaking classics. What's next?
Back to the future with no Michael J Fox?
Fifth Element without Bruce?
Pale Rider without Clint?
