What I love about GI JOE 2 and what I don't

Seeing the new Snake Eyes image made me want to rant. Do you agree?

Love:
New Snake Eyes
Jinx, Roadblock and FireFly
Actual guns
Renegades type storyline
Lady Jaye

Don't love:
No Scatlett, I loved Racheal Nichols and thought she did a great job
No Baroness recasting, sienna miller sucked, so recast her
No Destro recasting, maybe he will be in it
No dreadnoks

Hoping we get at least cameos from BeachHead and Rock N Roll
Would love Stalker, Low Light and Crimson Twins

No Baroness is what I don't care for. I'd like for Scarlett to be back, too, but with Lady Jaye there's not much need for her far as I'm concerned. They can recast the Baroness if they want, that's fine, but I hope she makes a return in part three...

My one con is that by having Bruce Willis in the film the average person that doesn't know jack about the Joe universe is probably thinking John McClane was once a Joe. :rolleyes:

Probably not. Considering how many roles Willis has had, including military roles, I doubt they'll be any confusion.

I've never understood this idea that people can't tell the difference when an actor is playing a different role.

People complained about Chris Evans being Captain American because he was the Human Torch. The average person probably wouldn't realize he was the Human Torch and/or didn't care.

I don't think it will be a problem either. People didn't confuse Stallone or Arnold with their other roles, and Willis is a much better actor in my opinion. I think Bruce Willis is a good choice for Colton. He's gritty enough to have been a real soldier. This movie has me really hopeful.

show cobra fucking shit up like the whole movie, and towards the end just throw a few joe in to shake things up.

And that won't work for the average movie goer. The average person, who will make up the majority of ticket sales for Retaliation, wants the focus on a couple people with background characters.

Look at any movie out there, even with larger casts/larger teams, there is focus on 1 or 2 "top" members and the others get fleshed out a little.

Retaliation will be the Rock/Bruce/SE show and if it helps the G.I. Joe brand get out there, so be it.

You can't just have an large amount of characters thrown into a movie, there is nothing to focus on. look at transformers 2 and 3, there were no introductions of ANY of the autobots and decepticons, and you just didn't care. you were overwhelmed. the first transformers you were introduced to each character both autobots and decepticons so you knew who was who and it worked. same goes for GI JOE stick with a small number of characters and it will work.
