The holiday season is fast approaching and it's time to start spreading the cheer! Joe style! (Or Cobra style if you're into that :) )

Many of us probably don't get too many GI Joe themed presents for the holidays, I know no one in my family will get them for me because they don't want to get me something I already have :p
So to make sure we all get a little Joe love this holiday season, let's start up Hisstank's first annual Secret Santa!

Here's the rules for the secret santa:

1. 15 dollar max limit. if you want to spend more its on you.
2. I'll send you the address and screen name of your santaneer and you are responsible to ship the item. I recommend wrapping it with secret santa somewere on the package so the recipitent knows what its for.
3. Loose figs (same with vehicles) are ok as long as they're complete and are not junk (I'm leaving the definition of junk to you guys, please be courteous of your santaneer).
4. Vintage, rah, new sculpt or 25th is up to you, the santa.
5. To make sure everyone gets their package please post here so your santa knows you got it. You dont have to say what you got if you dont want. Just that you received it.
6. Christmas time is a busy time of year for the post office. Please keep this in mind when you ship your item.
7. If you want to post a wishlist then I recommend do it here following the deadline immediately. (Personally I just check peoples want lists, if they have one)

Deadline to get me your name and address is Monday, Dec. 3rd

I don't really care if I get something I already have. It'll be new, as I never had that item as a gift from _____ before :D.

Now, whoever gets me, don't send a raptor with broken eagle feet. That's just wrong, man. WRONG! lol :D

i actually think this is a great idea.

i'm down. only problem i see is getting something you already have.

It's the thought that counts anyway. My brother-in-law sent me a carded Duke once, knowing I already had the same one loose.

I've found in the past that Cobra Hydro-Sleds and basic army builders are totally the way to go with other Joe collectors when you want to send a nice little "thank you" and you don't know what they already got. They look great and they're not too crazy on the wallet.

Yeah, sounds cool. Haven't had the chance to do any Secret Santa stuff since forever.

I guess I could use some Sigma 6 stuff since I missed pretty much the entire few years of the line and all I have is Flint and Samurai Storm Shadow. Also I have all of the 25th I need so far but I could really use a Beachhead.

But anything's fine, of course. Just nice to see a board being so friendly.

Id say try for before/ on X-Mas. I've put up the USPS deadlines for getting packages out in time for X-Mas on the first post. After the day I send out the addresses you should have at least 11 days to get your package sent.

I'm sure if it winds up not arriving till after X-Mas it'll be fine (As long as it's not sometime in June :) My grandmother used to send our presents out around that time)

No, the person who you're a secret santa to, is not your secret santa.

When I was 6 my Aunt Ginny gave me a Vamp Mk. 2 for Christmas. I already had one, and back then I did not realize how cool a fleet of jeeps would be. I was a spoiled kid and wanted new stuff. I did not even examine it, I just threw it aside and said "oh, another one of these, I already have it" (I was such a dick when I was young and very immature). My Aunt Ginny was really sad, she said "Oh, I thought you loved G.I. Joes". Before I could say anything I was promptly snatched up by my Dad and taken in the bedroom for a little talk. He kindly explained that anytime someone goes out of their way to do something nice for you, you need to show some gratitude. The lesson about not being the world's biggest asshole was punctuated with a spanking. At that young age of 6 I learned that gratitude makes people think you are kind and mature. Flippant jabs at other peoples kindness are made by immature spoiled babies. If I had continued to act that way as an adult I bet I would be a total jackass that had no friends, and when I chimed in people thought "oh not this jerk again". Thanks for that lesson Pop, it has served me well.

Great lesson to have learned.
I think of it like this---
You never know how important the item was to the other person. To you it may seem like garbage but to the person who gave it to you it could have been the greatest item they had. If that makes any sense? But i find it really is the thought that counts.

If i had a thousand copies and somsone gave me another one.. I wouldn't post sad smileys on here and make that person feel bad. I'm all for doing it again in July because this was the best Xmas for me in a long time.

On a side note i don't know if Hasbro does the warehouse clearance sale every year but if they do i think that it would be a perfect time to stock up on toys for the little rug rats that don't have a good Xmas. The deals where great for us collectors and would be great for getting more toys to the kids who need them. I hope you all will join in on this idea because I'm going to set aside 10% of my fun money to do this again next year for the simple fact that if two Joe's can bring me this much joy imagine the look on a kids face when they receive a Joe , TF , etc...

The comic itself was from my personal collection and was one of the few items that survived my house fire that completly destroyed every Joe vehicle I had...including my complete USS Flagg!!!

So if you are truley disappointed please send it back and I will perhaps send it to the kind person who drew my name for the Secret Santa.

What you do is your choice. What was said is said, what's done is done. The apology that was made was yours to make, not his. That being said, your sentiments on the topic (and mine) are better reserved for personal messages and not here in the thread.

I still haven't received my SS gift but I did hear from the sender and he assured my gift was coming. Therefore I'm not tripping.

I got my SS Christmas Eve and I love them! My wife misplaced the nice card that was included so if my SS could reveal themselves I can can thank you. :)

I sent out my SS a little late but it should be there this week. So Destro, do not fear it will arrive.

Mindbender MD, I was your Secret Santa. Glad you liked the figures, and doubly glad they got there Christmas Eve, considering how late I was in sending them out. Glad you enjoyed and happy new year.

Thanks Dan for the great figures and the thoughtful card, I was very excited to get them! I usually dont get gifts (being a father and husband) so it was a nice feeling to get something just for me. :)

Happy New Year!

Derek,
Thanks for the awesome Secret Santa gift! I returned home from a week long trip to Colorado late last night to find it waiting in the mail box. What a great surprise. Between this and the Yellow Stalker earlier this year you are my Hisstank Hero! Love the troopers, and I was able to pick up a Hawk/Scarlett comic pack with the gift card, which gave me enough proof of purchases to finally fill out my rescue Doc mail away! You rock!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.:D :D :D
