cool idea! one quick question though...how were you going to mount the missiles near the end of the wings since they sweep forward and back?

Put a Luke head on him and he'd be perfect!

i would definitely rock out with a sw pilot helmet! it would be cool if you could break apart an r2 so that you could mount the dome somewhere behind the cockpit.

Needs the S-foil laser gun thingys (no idea what they call em) not sure I understand the missiles way out on the wing tips. Will the missiles have a way for them to swing into the proper pointing position when the wings are retraced in V shape?
The paint scheme looks cool in any case, gl!

Fantastic idea!
Have you considered using an F/A-18? It already has ordnance mounting points at the wingtips. If you do plan to use the Skystriker, I'd strongly suggest leaving the missiles in their original locations.

It will be the skystriker for sure, now I'm not sure about the missiles, the idea of having some kind of swivel feature is still in place though

I'd skip the wingtip missiles and the Luke Skywalker head.....maybe swap a Duke Head out for Ace if you really want him to be blonde, but I kinda like it with Ace as is. It's got kind of an Alternate Universe feel to it or maybe "if George Lucas had been behind GI Joe." Tackling the other side of that coin might be interesting too; something like a Larry Hama inspired take on Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon or Wedge and an X Wing, Janson in a Y wing, etc.

You could mount machine guns of some sort and make them swivel.
As someone already mentioned I wanted to keep it as realistic as possible so here's my idea for "R2"
meet Arthur Deetu, Aircraft Mecanic or (suggestion form latinJoe22) Arthur Dee II, Astromechanic engineer

May I suggest putting some goggles on Arthur Deetu? Paint them white and maybe put some sort of optic on one side to represent R2's camera eye thing.
I'd also suggest painting his cap blue or gray.

Cool. I think you should mount the missles on the end of the Wing tips like the X wing!! Hell, go all out and grab another set of wings from another striker and have a real X-striker!!! :)
I'll send you a shell of an 80's one if you want to try it! Not sure if it'd work, but I'm sure a couple people on here could make it happen.

Luke Skywalker would smile if He saw this. BUT the question is what do you use as Vader's Tie Advanced?

maybe give him some bigger ones like the ones on a hoth soldier and for accessories give him the stuff the han or chewy had in the figures where they are fixing the falcon.

i do hope you're referring to the ROC plane...and do up some firebats as regular TIE fighters

Ian, I really like your concepts! As far as the Sky Striker's wings are concerned, other swing wing jets like the F-111 from the '60s had swiveling weapons pylons on the winngs, so it's not that far off to have wing mounted missiles. Good luck!
Here's the X-Striker still WIP

Cobra Interceptors would make cool Tie Fighter like customs sort of.
I need to get my hands on an Night Raven from the original line so I can convert it to an accurate SR-71 BlackBird. EVENTUALLY I will find one on ebay cheap and make that custom. I already know all of the materials I need to do it and it really isn't much BUT when finished WILL look cool.
