We love the Gi Joe brand but in order for it to thrive way long after we are gone Hasbro needs to connect with the generation of kids now. Hasbro is really going ninja heavy with the new stuff that's coming out so maybe there research is telling them Ninjas are all the rage.
I figured why not use this forum to do some of our own research. Lots of you have kids so lets hear from them. If your kids are old enough to give a response please enter it in the poll. Thanks.
I couldn't add it ran out of options but other themes was one I wanted to add. Kids have crazy imaginations so you never know what they might think of. If your kids think of something not in the poll please post it in the thread.
Use your own words you don't have to use my poll question verbatim, but try to stay close to the themes.

I've maintained before that our kids are biased.
"Daddy plays with 'em, so they're cool."
Not always the case obviously, but true enough.
But it would make a decent start. Get an idea of what features kids already inclined to buy the brand look for and want.

Good point forgot other kids your example should count too.
I ran out of poll options but added a note for other theme in the original post. Noted: Some kids like Ninjas.
If the mods let me add an option for Ninjas I will.

Very good idea here...wish I had kids to ask. They would also give me an excuse to play with my joes again.

You should play with your joes regardless :)
EduardimusPrime post gave me a good ideal you can ask other kids too. Nephews, Etc. I wouldn't recommended just asking random kids though you might get the cops called on you, lol.

Me too but I hope were not cheating by putting what we want. I'm sure there is a poll for that already, lol.

Well, as of right now my kids like glittery ponies and anything off the floor that they can fit into their mouths.
Granted, my daughters are 1 and 5 years old, respectively.
To be serious though, my 5 year old LOVES her Renegades Scarlett. So if an option was "any figure that is a girl", I'd pick that one.

My son likes Jedi, Transformers, and ten year olds that change into aliens, lol, but seriously, when we play Joes he usually grabs Snake Eyes and Duke, so I guess he likes commandos, first sargents, and ninja, I guess, lol!
The best thing about GI Joe is that it has the capacity to offer kids all of the above. Joe is comprised of the world's best soldiers, sailors, pilots, marines, D.E.F. Agents, Eco Warriors, ninja, and astronauts!

Another good example why G.I. Joe will need a cartoon right after the movie.
Star Wars had Clone Wars after it was rereleased and flooded stores with multiple figures and big vehicles.
I didn't like the whole Renegades thing but I could def work with Resolute.

My 5 year old likes Legos and Transformers. Pretty much any kind, but city most of all. He hates GI Joe, regardless of how much I like it. He is starting to like ninjas thanks to the Ninjagos Lego cartoon. He watched Gi Joe with me, but since there are no talking animals and you can't build/transform them he has no interest in the toys. I think GI Joe is aimed at older kids and unfortunately they are either Star Wars or Video Game junkies from what I have seen.

My daughter likes romance if that helps at all. It wasn't on your list though.

My kid only knows two words. And even then he usually uses them incorrectly.

Mine like Alvin & the Chipmunks. If Mindbender can find a way to genetically mix the two, then we might have a winner.
Or, at least get Scarlett to sing cool, Disney XD-type songs with Snake Eyes, and Shipwreck dancing in the back ground like those "shake it up" girls. Or have Tomax and Xamot going to High School on a cruise ship, and then my kids would watch it.

Remember the Retaliation director also directed Step Up and the Justin Bieber movie so there's a chance of this actually happening.

Thank god I added a poll if this was just Q and A the research Im conducting would be in trouble. Thanks Guy, lol.
Funny I put astronauts up there for Steelgraves cough cough kids and not a single vote. I wonder if osok dead kids voted? The mods wont let me add ninjas sorry guys. But you get spring loaded missle launchers under futuristic vehicles with all the bells and whistles. Thanks for all who have voted so far for there kids :)

Lol, I want a new Joe toon too, but that isn't really what I meant, lol! My son doesn't actually watch Ben 10, The Clone Wars, or Transformers Prime cartoons all that much, and probably watches Sunbow and Renegades more with me, he just likes playing with those toys. He watches a lot of Johny Test, Adventure Time, and Regular Show when he watches cartoons. He also watches the Star Wars movies a lot, but doesn't like Star Wars action figures! He likes the Legos! What I was trying to say was that GI Joe was versatile enough to incorporate all of the above, lol! They have to an extent I believe. They were at one point going to release a set of Joe's that could turn into aliens, ninja are kind of like Jedi, Now all I have to do is to get their Power Fighters to transform, lol!
