The actor is definitely in the movie, and apparently as a Cobra/bad guy ("Secret Service Agent" to the faux President). He was originally credited as "Havoc" who was a character casting we heard about WAY back when (one of the very first, IIRC).

My suspicion is that he's such a minor role, and may not even be named outright in the movie, so they may have decided to turn it into an Easter Egg thing "for the fans" and just renamed the character Zandar rather than stick with the "original" character. Kinda like they used to do with the X-Men movies and the mini-cameos of various X-Characters at the school.

However, it may be the kind of easter egg nobody catches unless they stay for the end credits.

Or maybe they added a scene/line of dialogue to make it clear.

Or maybe IMDB is just wrong, as is often the case.

Don't know for sure but a second movie with Zartan, means its time for at least one dreadnoks referance.

I would bet we will see something, but it might be anything from dreadnoks being recast as Zartan's personal security guards to a breaf cameo.

Actually I believe Sgt. Stone was never supposed to be Gung Ho. I believe Gung Ho was supposed to have been the person who sent the planes too early when Rex got blown up...at least according to the book. He was calling in the CAS as a Forward Air Controller or JTAC.
