I have to say I enjoyed the first 2 episodes like I haven't enjoyed SW since the Return of the Jedi. I love the Clone aspect of it, and thought the characters had nice depth to them. I just wish we could leave Snips and Skyguy out of all the episodes. Haters of the movie (like me) should like this much more.

Anybody else watch? What are your thoughts?

I agree with 95% of your statement. I did like the Clone Wars movie to me it felt more like Star Wars than Ep 1-3 did.

I do think that they way they portray the Jedi interactions with the clones makes Order 66 that much sadder. They respect the clones more than the clones respect themselves. Watching Yoda unload on a droid army was great too.

still not a fan of all the battle droid banter, but other than that it was great.
i love the fact that theyre not shying away from human, well, clone death. not just robot destruction.

I enjoyed the episodes as well as the movie. I like the "wisdom" or whatever you want to call it at the opening. I really like what they are doing with the series. posted this somewhere else but anything with a clone wielding a gatlin gun like Dutch in Predator is an automatic win for me.

I really liked the movie and the series so far is just as entertaining. At first I didn't like the animation style, but it has grown on me. Also has me rethinking my stance on not buying the animated figures.

They are imitating the old newsreels they used to show before movies back in the days before tvs.

I'd have to disagree with you there... of all the humor they're trying to inject into the show, the Battle Droids are the only ones making it work.

I also like the military aspects of it. But I do agree with... uh... didn't quote it, so I don't remember who said it... that they could do away with 'Snips' and 'Sky-Guy' and I'd be happy. Of course, we all know what happens to 'Sky-Guy' and since she was nowhere to be seen in ROTS, 'Snips' will be getting the pointy end of a lightsaber soon enough.

I do think it's funny though, that with as much ire as Jar Jar has received over the years, they are actually putting him an episode. Just goes to show that Lucasfilm will do whatever Lucasfilm wants regardless of fan reaction.

oh yeah I knew that, love it too...though most don't but it really gives a WW 2 vibe. I was referring to the lines they have before like 'Belief is not a matter of choice, but of conviction'.

*love that you referred to it as the days before tv lol

I loved every minute of it. The thing I liked the most was all the small details that made the transition from live action to animation and how they kept to established technology.

The scene in the first episode with Yoda and the clones around a "campfire," was some of the best Star Wars stuff I've seen. This show, like the prequels is gonna have some really good moments. Let's just hope the good ones outweigh the bad ones in the end.

i was surprised how much i enjoyed the cartoon series more than the cartoon movie. i also like the fact there seems to be more jedi that we get to see such as plo koon he was one of my favorites in the prequels and i didnt like the prequels all that much.

I have to say that, so far I really like this show. It's on my list of must watch tv, and for me that says a lot. There's only 5 shows, including Clone Wars that are on there.

The first episode with Yoda, was great, yoda hasn't felt like Empire Strikes back Yoda in a long time.

I'd have to disagree with you there... of all the humor they're trying to inject into the show, the Battle Droids are the only ones making it work.

Really?

Really?

I didn't mind the battle droids yucking it up in the movie that much, but it seemed to be constant that it was starting to get on my nerves. It's hard to believe that the Republic would have a hard time fighting these morons. Don't get me wrong, I do like some of the battle droid jokes, just not all of them all the time.

I'll also admit that the droids that were killing the dudes in space was actually really creepy simply because they were having such a good time. How freaking heartless was that one scene where that guy got sucked out of the life pod?

Great stuff.

As I said earlier, it hasn't been since Empire Strikes Back that Yoda has felt so much like Yoda.

As of right now, only seeing two episodes, this show is exemplifying what Star Wars is meant to be. I haven't been this excited about anything Star Wars in a long time.

Tonight's episode was good again. I'm liking this more and more. I'm also liking how they're focusing on the story from a military operations perspective. I wish the writers would stop recycling lines from the films, though, this one just about rehashed every famous quote there was. I half-expected Grievous to tell one of the Battle Droids "I am your father."

I didn't catch the movie cause there was still a bad taste in my mouth from the prequels. I caught the first two episodes of this on youtube and must admit its good. Watched the 3rd on Friday and wasn't disappointed.
I'm guessing what's so appealing to me is that we get to see these characters in action without the terrible acting of the movies or weird animation of the Clone Wars mini-episodes from a few years back. The animation looks great and I think they should do something with the OT characters this way. Maybe Thrawn and Mara Jade.

Tonights episode (Rookies) was (I think) the best yet
*** spoilers if you haven't caught it yet *****

Clone eaten by random space worm was awesome
Heavy sacrificing himself to take down the station
new battle droid model
No Jedi to save the day
Captain Rex and Cmmndr Cody
Clone trooper mini-gun
The destruction of the shuttle on the landing pad...
the 'wearing clone armor' trick being used against both side.
"Sarge" getting executed by 3 droids....
not sure I heard it right, but did fives say "what the hell was that?" when the worm ate the clone???

I thought this episode was great. anybody else catch it?

I love the TV Series, the movie was as good as any of the prequels, definitely better than EP1, as good as EP3, and almost as good as EP2 (the best of the three live action prequels).

The movie had too much filler, which is what I believe made the prequels boring at times.
The TV Series is to the point, plenty of action to keep us interested, and when something is said it is usually necessary.

I will say, the jokes are funny at times, but are a little overdone.
I strongly dislike Asohka's slang. R2ie and SkyGuy? I also think that if she were Obi-wans padawan he would have belted her by now. So it does not make sense that someone so angry (Anakin) could be patient with her.

I can live with those faults though because ultimately the show rocks!!!!

Yes, I can't agree more.

^For Sure!

I really liked all of the episodes so far, but the major complaint I have is, that the episodes are to short. There 30 mins with commercials, which is way to short for Star Wars. I think the episodes should have been an hour long with commercials...

Pretty good plots so far. The animation is sometimes good and sometimes wierd. I did not like it on the big screen. The whole search for Jabba's baby was far fetched too. It would have been a better plot for the TV show.

I saw the later half of an episode where a clone trooper sacrificed himself, and at the end, Rex added new troops to his 501st. I was like "holy shit, did that one guy who set of the detonators fucking die?". Then one of them says "well, he never liked that place anyways". Interesting episode.

The parts I like best are the parts with the clones. I don't care for Asohka's predictable, cliche attitude and interactions with Anakin. I looked forward to this series in hopes that Anakin be fleshed out more into the bad ass hellbent, raging jedi that he wasn't in ROTS. Anyways I saw the Clone Wars movie, wasn't too impressed, I thought it was alright. The clone parts were excellent, took on a more serious tone every time those guys showed up. Has the series for the most part, stayed the same, as in Anakin's parts usually suck, and the clone parts rule?

In regards to the droid "humor" and Ahsoka, you have to remember that kids eat that shit up. I am just thankful that it is droid humor, and not Jar-Jar humor.

I didn't care for the movie, but love the tv show - especially the Clone centric eps. Ahsoka is still annoying, but I do like the Anakin character better.

totally agree. there has to be a non-super human element to relate to (like the clones, or what Han was to the OT) But it was still awesome when Obi-Wan took out the droids by using the destroyer droids like bowling balls and staying behind their shileds as they struggled to turn around to shoot him... and of course, letting threepio get smacked by the train because he couldn't move him fast enough. :)

Han was just a kid durring the Clone Wars.He was orphaned as a child and taken in by a man named Garish Shrike that would force him to do petty crimes for money.Later he escaped Shrike and became a smuggler then he joined the Imperial academy and became a Tie pilot then a Storm Trooper only to end up on Kashykk as a guard for the wookie slaves when his commanding officer was about to blast a Wookie that was not obeying his orders Han blasted his commander and burned his draft card. That is when he met Chewie. There is a trilogy of books about his life leading right up to A New Hope it explains everything, and he did win the Falcon fare and square no matter what Lando told you.Oh yeah Clone Wars is great too.
