I have to admit I hate the idea of Greenshirts in the comic and/or the cartoon. I think there are more than enough named Joes that Greenshirts aren't needed in those mediums. Unless they happen to be in the background guarding the instillation or handling support duties.

But, as toys, I like them. I use them in places I don't want to use a named Joe, like gunner stations on vehicles, guard positions, manual labor, etc...

My Greenshirts manning different areas around the ROCC.

I know there are plenty of classic Joes we'd all like to see first, but I think there is room for more Greenshirts.
We already have the basic cartoon Greenshirt, but I'd like to see the following:
1) Desert Greenshirts (Brownshirts?)
Easy way: Same Greenshirts we have except with brown pants and tan shirts.
I'd rather see Dusty bodies w/ different heads.
2) Urban/Night Greenshirts (Blackshirts?)
Easy way: Same Greenshirts we have except with black pants and gray shirts.
I'd rather see Comic Pack Firefly bodies (including the vest) in black w/ different heads w/ knit caps. Use black helmets if it costs too much to add knit caps to existing heads.
3) Arctic Greenshirts (Whiteshirts?)
Snow Job bodies w/ different heads. Use Parka Snake-Eyes backpacks.
4) Navy Greenshirts (Saltshirts?)
Easy way: Shipwreck bodies with different heads w/ sailor caps and new hands. Include life jackets and use white helmets if it costs too much to add sailor hats to existing heads.
5) Pilot Greenshirts (Flyshirts?)
Easy way: SRO Ace bodies with different heads. Put in a mix of fighter pilot helmets and helicopter pilot helmets.

I'd also like to see more of a military Greenshirt as well, and get rid of the Snow Job rifle and put in M-4's, a SAW, and backpacks. Use boonie hats instead of helmets.

How does everybody else feel about Greenshirts?
Want more?
What areas?

The Greenshirts 4+1 pack was a cool nod to the cartoon from Hasbro. I like your ideas for diffrent enviornments greenshirts.
Should just buy what's out and paint them since they're overflowing at some TRUs in Los Angeles.

Greenshirts are to Joe what the blueshirt troopers are to Cobra, which are sort of like redshirts to Star Trek. Although some of us would buy them it probably wouldn't be marketable enough for Hasbro to go through the trouble. Not everyone army builds, and that's the primary consumer for these packs.

It would be great to see greenshirt or named Joe packs to go along with the Arctic or desert cobra troop builders.

I finally found my first greenshirt set today and someone had replaced firefly with nemesis enforcer...

Why trade Nemesis Enforcer for that Firefly?

Flyshirts? more like Skyshirts. That sounds cooler...BUT I like where your idea is going.

How about some african american green shirts (or cobra troops for that matter)??!! I don't care what environment.

HMM. Greenshirts were cool, but to be honest I think we were lucky to get what we got. While, I'd love to see a few generic sailors or w/e to man my varuious sea, land and air vehicles I just don't think it's going to happen.

Great idea though.

Oh and I'd love to see a Green Shirt, Sailor, Desert Trooper, artic trooper -vs- random cobra 5 pack.

Let's not forget to mention that there aren't any Hispanic, Asian or Native American greenshirts either. I'm a mixture of two of the four ethnicities missing from the Greenshirts but I'm not trying to take it personal. We'll probably get them further down the line.

Personally I have no use for them. I might get the set for a few checkpoint guards or something but there are more than enough real Joes.

I agree with all of these:

1) Desert Greenshirts (Brownshirts?)

Mostly, because we are in a desert war now, it might be more marketable.

3) Arctic Greenshirts (Whiteshirts?)

Couldn't hurt since Hasbro seems to favor artic stuff for some reason?

4) Navy Greenshirts (Saltshirts?)
Easy way: Shipwreck bodies with different heads w/ sailor caps and new hands. Include life jackets and use white helmets if it costs too much to add sailor hats to existing heads.

Like Topside? I like the white helmet idea more than using Shipwrecks cap. But you gotta add in the gloved fist for that drunken sailor varient??

5) Pilot Greenshirts (Flyshirts?)
Easy way: SRO Ace bodies with different heads. Put in a mix of fighter pilot helmets and helicopter pilot helmets.

I couldn't agree more. I'd like them to differentiate between NAVY and USAF pilots though. Finally get me a pilot for my A-10 and pilots for my X-19.

I'd also like to see more of a military Greenshirt as well, and get rid of the Snow Job rifle and put in M-4's, a SAW, and backpacks. Use boonie hats instead of helmets.

They have a good mold for a SAW. I got one today.
I wish they would use more packs too.

I'm amazed that they're overflowing in some places, I've only seen the one box, but have seen several of the CG sets but almost no greenshirts. I'd have loved to see a black, asian, hispanic, whatever ethnicity man mixed in with the greenshirts, I feel like it would make the head reuse more tolerable if the skin-tone were changed. And really, why couldn't they have used the Stalker/Snake Eyes arms instead of the infernal Duke arms?!? I feel like they would have looked better that way and we would have been spared those arms yet again.

I'd pay for a set of DDP greenshirts. They're so much cooler than the Sunbow greenshirts.

Greenshirts:
I hate them, do not need them, should never had existed and bottom line should never have existed!

I like them...I need Joes that can do the monkey work and die. I bought 3 sets so far and maybe get 2 more.

Navy Greenshirts (I would call them Sea Shirts) I would get a couple of packs for the day that I actually get a FLAGG again

The Navy Greenshirts idea reminds me of the old Sears catalog picture of the Flagg. They had like 50 Shipwreck's manning the thing.

For those who hate the Greenshirts because they think Joe is an elite unit and wouldn't have trainees, why not just consider these as regular army? That's probably what I'll do. I've seen dio stories where GI Joe interacts with regular army, and I figure it would be good to have some decent figures from Hasbro to enact similar stories. That way you wouldn't have to use PTE or generic figures (which while good in some regards, aren't at the same level as the 25th figure style).

Well I like the greenshirt. I think of them as recuits. G. I. Joe finds the best of the best, the most elite troopers. And Beachhead and Snake eyes make them better, until they become Joes and learn all that they need to know to survive, they do drills and grunt work. Guard doors, Patrol the parameter at night, wash the vehicals, or clean all the weapons. as for different type greenshirts I like the Urban and Arctic sets the most. Urban for Nightwatch, Arctic for when they are being trained by snowjob.

I don't like the idea of lesser/lower class soldiers. marines, sailors, and airmen. That's reserved for the likes of Cobra.

As recruits? I've always seen G.I. Joes already being accomplished and outstanding fighting men and women from all branches of the service that either apply for or are recruited into the Joe Team for their current abilities and skills and simply continue their training along side their new team.

I'm still on the fence about Greenshirts, as I have passed on them a few times. I'm thinking I might start getting them though, because my vehicles are kinda empty for I like at least one named Joe on his stand for display purposes, I put the double like Duke, Stalker and such in vehicles. Greenshirts are starting to look like a good idea to fill up vehicles for $5 bucks each. Not sure what to do with the extra fireflys though. Maybe a Camo Ninja Viper for Cobra.

I welcome any kind of generaric Joe Service member's. I only saw the packs one time at TRU and bought the 2 I saw. I got 1 green shirt from a trade and 25 from ebay, for a total of 34 Greenshirt Troopers. Have 3 painted black and will paint a few more in different ethnicities.
