I'm 34.
I've been collecting/playing with GI Joes since 1982 and my wife doesn't seem to mind my hobby.
What about the rest of you guys.

I'd have to agree with you there. Money's tight right now and I have a lot of expenses that come like clockwork every month, but I always try and squeeze in as many Joes as I possibly can. Not to mention it irritates me when I log on to the Tank and there isn't at least one new news item on the front page.
I may need therapy... :D

turned 32 yesterday and, it feels pretty good! I am in overall great shape and have a wonderful Family
I started with the og Joes way back in 1982-83 and, gave them away when I turned around 11 or 12 to my nephews!
Started back up close to the first of 2008. Our Son was given a 25th Joe 5 pack as a gift from one of His Aunts...and since then there has been no looking back! We have picked up a lot of minty v1 Joes which has been awesome...not to mention the 25th and new era stuff we can get at great prices too
The down side is that due to finances I have already had to unload some of the new stuff we have collected this year! It can be claimed again later on though...

36. I have liked the Joes since its inception into the 3 3/4" realm. I recently re-acquired the Original 13 and the Cobra counterparts. I enjoy the 25th line, but only purchase those that get my attention... basically anything that is a reproduction of figures from 82-87...

I'm 20 years old, and I was born into a world of neon colors and crazy costumes. But that never prevented me from loving the fundamental green uniform of the average 'Joe more than anything.

I'm 26 and my first encounter with the Joes was watching the Mass Device mini series. My pops recorded it and I remember watching it over and over. Snake was my favortie back then.

26...27 in December. I was just thinkin' about this earlier and how funny it is that here I am and still want the same things for my birthday that I did over 20 years ago, lol . Footloose had to have been my first. I only willing to recognize G.I. Joes made up until 1986. The good years...the Sunbow years :) Don't get me wrong, there's a couple from '87...but still not the same.

Thanks for the recognition. I wasn't going to do my own shameless plug but I couldn't resist posting an honest answer in this thread...
Actually my wife gives me heck about always checking this site. She also gave me a Wal Mart gift card to open this morning and it was of course an "in joke" to reference my collecting... Good times... :)

50...
Started collecting in '64 when the first Joes came out. Loved the military stuff, still have bunches of it.
Liked and got some Adventure Team stuff, didn't care for most of it, hated Mike Powers and Bulletman and the Intruders, didn't buy any of them.
Really didn't like Super Joe and didn't buy any.
Picked up GI Joe (Marvel) #1, got excited. Saw the ad. Couldn't wait! Buddy from the Jet Engine shop (stationed in Arkansas at the time) called me, said they got the new Joes I was looking for in at Big K (a chain of stores later bought out by Wal-Mart).
Went down, looked at those tiny figures in their Star Wars sized packaging, and said...well, can't say what I said, cause this is a family forum and I was military (retired Air Force, btw). Anyway, kept buying the comic, didn't buy the toys.
About 3 ot 4 years later, I was walking through a Hill's in Indiana, there was a Joe dropped on the floor. Picked it up to put it back on the rack, and noticed the file card. It was Flint. Fell in love with the file card when I read it, started buying the little guys then and there.
What do you mean they just stop making the old stuff when the new stuff comes out? That can't be right. It's just not the way things are done!
Got rid of the small guys in the early '90's when all my new guys started looking like the paint jobs were designed by the same people that work on Barbie. And I know what Barbie looks like, my wife has a collection of about 300 that go back to the '60's. Plus, I was already wondering what the advantage is to having grenades shaped like footballs with the addition of a handle?
Owned a comic shop for a few years (what a way to make a living!) Lots of Joes came and went through the shop. Replaced a lot of my old collection during that time. Didn't touch the newer stuff. It was all repaints, anyway.
Then they sucked me back in with a $5 Snake-Eyes that came with a DVD. You just can't bet a deal like that.
So, by now, I own all the stuff I want from the '60's, still need a few pieces from the Secret of the Mummy's Tomb from the '70's (my mom sold off my collection when I went to basic training, cause I was a man now, and didn't need toys anymore), I own every 25th item that has come out (except for a BAT and a Snake-Eyes with Arctic Gear, but I will track them down, they will not escape me!) And I work on filling in the gaps from '86 through '94 (figures only, pretty much complete, but if a $4 figure is missing a $30 microphone, I buy the $4 figure and he just has to shout loud to get his message across!) I don't buy the older vehicles and even traded off my Defiant, Terror Drome and Flagg cause they just take up too much room.
And my wife doesn't mind my collecting cause we have been married for about three decades or so, and it beats what the other guys were doing that ended in divorce. Plus, with all those Barbies and her Heroes figures, she can't exactly throw stones!
Oh, and lest I forget, I am old so I ramble :)

Turned 36 yesterday!
My first joe was a stright armed grunt, followed by stalker and SE.
Left the fold when the Toxic avengers and star brigade came out. I hated that it left its military roots. when I saw the 5 pack commemorative editions I thought "cool" but until my older brother gave me a Hooded CC last Christmas with a gift card ( he knows I love my joes still) I didnt have any of the 25th. Well he started the ball rolling and its all downhill from there!!
Been on the Tank a few months and appreciate the fans here. The official site should be so lucky as to have this kind of following!!!

Girlfriend supports my habit. I had collected from '82 to 90ish and just started back up at my girlfriends urging.
She's even encouraging me to start customizing and making dios.
She calls me a "dork" all the time, but it's with love, lol.

Wow, it's so weird being the one to say "my husband could are less about GI Joe". It's usually the chicks who can't stand things like that. He usually tells me "grow up, you're an adult", lol. I just tell him "no thanks, I'd rather be young at heart forever than an old bitter bastard like you".

36 going on 37 in Jan. Been a loyal supporter of GI Joe Comics (Marvel) and the toys since 1982. I remember the very first commercial for the comics and toys. Thought I was gonna crap my pants when I first saw it. Glad they're doing the 25th!!
Oh my wife doesn't care that I still buy AND play with them.
