At our one and only B&F store which is a Ben Franklin fabrics store that mostly sells junk like clothes fabrics and Revell car models and the typical kid toy junk like cap guns and silly putty but once in awhile the workers at the store do try to order some of the better stuff like Transformers or whatever but recently I have noticed in their paper ads that they finally are selling the new G.I. Joe figures at 4.99 and that's pretty damn cheap. But all we have is just only 3 freakin figures that are just Tiger Force Flint which is better than nothing since I need Flint badly. Also Our Ben Franklin store has the Cartoon Baroness and the cruddy Python Cobra Trooper officer

4.99, that is a good deal. Not since Wal Mart first started selling this line has prices been so low...

Wow, Ben Franklin. I haven't seen one of those in ages. I used to get my Mego super heroes there... they were like 99 cents then (which was awesome because my spending limit was a dollar!)

@#$#%! I'm old...

LOL @ Acrizer I know how you feel.. just hearing about that store made me feel old.. what's next Mott's? On another thread we already mentioned Best, Gibson's and Service Merchandise... Children's Palace.. etc.. etc.. all the places to choose from before Wal mart came to town and took over.

Now I want to find a Ben Franklin store.. Google here I come. LOL

My thoughts as well. I'll pass on them at $7 and $8 bucks, but $5..yeah I'll buy them and it could be worse than TF Flint and Python Officers.. It could have been Buzzers and hooded CC's...or.. you know it's coming.. Wild Bill!!! LOL

His arms and upper torso are also good for customs.. just not for Leatherneck like Hasbro did. LOL

You do know that Wal Mart has Force Unleashed 3packs right? 1 with the emperor and 2 shadow stormtroopers and the other with Vader and some other special stormtroopers.

Best and Service Merchandise is where I used to get so many of my Joes back then. Before that it was... uh, Gemco? *laugh* Kay Bee's are all gone, too. Might be a KB Outlet (or some such) down in Sunnyvale still... Even my local TRU closed.

Man... Ben Franklin. I can still imagine that aisle with all the metal baskets and the big solid-colored plastic army-men and Marvel characters. No one wanted the orange Captain America. You need the blue one!

I have no Walmarts, either! *cry* I didn't need to hear that, I'm OCD about Storm/Clonetroopers.

If you are willing to pay me back and for the shipping.. (Will try and find the cheapest rate for you) I can pick them up, if you want?

I try to help out most of the Tankers outside of the U.S. with our exclusives.. know how it feels to be unable to get stuff unless you use Evilbay. I'm still hunting down Takara Binaltech and Masterpiece TF's, but don't want to pay the prices on ebay..

Sam walton (walmart founder) got his start by owning and operating Ben Franklin stores.

I have much love for the Ben Franklin! I think collectively back in the day, I bought most of my joes there. Ben Franklin is where I first picked up Baroness, Roadblock, Destro, and Major Bludd. The Sharc, Zartan and skier and a water moccassin.
There was also one in another town that my grandma and I would visit every now and then and they had an entire room in the back full of toys! The walls were lined with joes, transformers, he-man etc., with the joes being prominently featured.

Dammit!, I can still remember the smell of that place!

I remember Woolworth, Jamesway, Fisher's Big Wheel, Hills - I have so many fond memories of those places that are no longer with us, because of the toys I remember getting from them. I still vividly recall walking through the Big Wheel toy aisle, and seeing Go-Bots, Transformers G1 and all the Joes a kid could ever want.

Back in the late 80s early 90s I bought a few good figures such as the first Ninja viper that was all purple and had the weird twisted swords. I also spent money on the boxed Destro and his Despoiler vehicle. That cost quite a bit back then.

Now figures today costs depends on where you live. If you live in a small town then you better pray to the gods that you would find the new figures on "sale" at a Ben Franklins store or any kind of fabrics store that sells at least some of the new action figures.

Back then in the late 80s early 90s, G.I. Joe figures only cost like what? 2.50-2.89

I remember back in 82 KB was the place for the newest stuff first. I was lucky enough that one of the store managers took a liking to me. Every Friday they would get a truck in and he would set aside 1 of each new figure until my mom would bring me by after school.
What I wouldn't give to have ole Jeff around now. He even held back a cabage patch kid for my sister that one christmas. Those were the days
