Final Thoughts
Airtight isn't really a character I was that interested in, truth be told, so the idea of an Airtight figure seemed a little dull to me, especially as my most recent memory is of the Renegades version, who only appeared in a single episode and didn't seem to do much.
So I really wasn't that excited about Airtight until I opened the pack and started looking at the figure in more detail. And at that point I realised that this is actually a really fun figure. Airtight has a cool, detailed sculpt, good articulation, just about the right amount of well-designed accessories and a really defined role or character. I particularly like it when you get a Joe that's not just a military specialist Airtight is just such a figure.
I especially like that he makes a great companion-piece to Lifeline and I could imagine them working together as some kind of emergency response unit. Given the Compound Z/Hazard-Viper/Zombie-Viper theme of the 30th Anniversary figures, I get the impression - especially as he comes armed with a shotgun, too - that Airtight is somehow intended to fit into that mythology , maybe as the Joe's anti-zombie infection expert or something... Whether that's the case or not, I've no idea but I do like that the toy made me think of that, as it's always a treat to find a toy that so fires the imagination.
A unique but very worthy addition to any Joe collector's roster.
Final Score: A-

This was my favorite figure of this wave. I would give me a perfect A if not A+. I can't really think of a bad thing about this figure. Maybe something for him to place his air purifier "gun" in the backpack is what is missing for me.

I don't think I've ever awarded an A+ score. A few A's for sure, but I don't think I've actually found an absolutely perfect toy (such a thing may not even exist!) but the yeah, as much as I love this new Airtight he would really have benefited from some way to store the gun or if they'd in some way been able to incorporate the air and purifier tanks then he'd have definitely scored even better. But an A- from That Figures is still a very, very good score.

I like this figure too. The two things I wished he had was a hood less head and that extra piece from the vintage line that attached to the top of his backpack.

I like the hood, to be honest. I'd be kind of annoyed if he neck was exposed when he wore the helmet over it. And yeah, the tubes would've looked good but I'd have probably complained about them inhibiting movement.

I finally found this at a target. I'm happy with the results. One of my favorite Joes as a kid. I wish there was a way to stow all his gear though.
This figure is as close to perfect as it gets.
Only gripe is the hose is creap and flimsy. Anyone know were to get the more durable, older style hose that come with ARAH Joes?

from the older joes more than likely. or maybe you could find something at a medical or chemistry based supplier

By chemistry based supplier do you mean the old abandoned house that's become a meth lab in the seedy part of town? I can always knock on the door. I'm sure they're friendly.

Yeah, it would've been nice to have some way to connect the air tank and purifier tank together or something. And a shotgun holster/slot (although you can get it to stay between the pack and his back with a bit of jiggling.)

I found my Sci-Fi's pipe was a pain but not with Airtight's.

Like a lot of folks, I initially had little interest in this figure when it first hit the scene. I even passed him up a couple times at the local store.
However, after a couple of weeks, temptation finally got the best of me. After rescuing the figure from its plastic and cardboard cage, I can honestly say that I have zero regrets in picking him up. He may not fit into my 'Joeverse' at all, but that doesn't matter. It's a fun figure, and I'm happy to have him on display! :D

When I first learned about this wave last year I thought Lifeline or Sci-Fi would be the best figure of the bunch. However, to my surprise Airtight is this best updated figure to date as far as I'm concerned. In my opinion he is simple yet oh so effective.

My favorite figure of the 30th line. And what a line it was. Good review.

I agree completely on the first part - he was a bit of a ''yeah, OK'' for me (and I only purchased him as (A) I'm a completist and (B) he was in the bundled order) but once I opened the box I was really pleasantly surprised.
And yeah, he may not be a front-line kind of combat guy but like I keep saying, along with Lifeline they make a good kind of clean-up/secondary team. If the zombie thing is part of your Joeverse, pair them-up with somebody with a bit of firepower and it works pretty nicely as a support team.

I have a hard time picking between Airtight and Lifeline, simply as I think both have pretty neat sculpts and gear but also nicely-defined roles and characters. But he is really cool.

I have to admit that I found the 30th line a bit underwhelming. There were some excellent figures but I think that the PoC line - especially toward the last couple of waves - set a standard the 30th didn't quite meet.

...Airtight comes with a pretty decent line-up of gear…Geiger counter (I assume that's what it is, even though the clip and collect card mentions a ''containment unit'')…
No, that is in the real world known as a Smiths Detection HGVI (Hand-held, Multi-Sensor Gas & Vapor Identifier). I give you credit for posing the piece correctly in the action figure’s hand. (Another website had a review with Airtight misusing his equipment in every photograph.)
I would have preferred if Hasbro gave him the military version (the M4 JCAD -Joint Chemical Agent Detector) instead of this one, but that’s okay.

Well it's better than my original thought - ''ooh look, a Ghostbusters Ghost Trap!'' :)

Airtight is all sorts of awesome. I bought 3 from TRUs b2g1 free. I took off the vest and replaced the helmets with generic gas masks with 2 of em. I actually like the stripped down versions more. They look great against the zombie vipers.

I thought about using some smaller gauge (insulated, of course) electrical wire, which can have the added benefit of being able to conform to whatever shape you want it to be in.
