Im just curious, whats the direction with these figures? I was never into the comics, so im not sure if they are comic adaptations or just original ideas for these figures or what. For example, Dusty, Cobra Trooper, The new Cobra Commander? whats the deal with those? I like them, i just dont understand what the deal is with them. Like cobra commander, whats up with the Naval officer cover he comes with? Or the cobra trooper in a sweatshirt armed with an M-16 and grenade launcher? or bearded dusty?
Anyways, just curious to know if these are supposed to be completely original views of them, or if they are adaptations from something.

One thing is for sure, we can't expect much from a $14 bucks male dolls that I personally think looks like crap with sloppy attire. What is worse, it has no nostalgia effect either.
Not even the Sideshows that cost $120 bucks impress me!

i like the sideshow snake eyes, IMO it was pretty kick ass. On the 12 inch figs though i hate the clothes. I dont like large figures with clothes that arent to scale.
I dont really expect much from them really. I didnt really expect much from the 3 3/4" line (well i didnt when they were $4.84 but at $8+ they should change my oil for me lol) except for some great nostalgic artwork and packaging.
Just curious what the deal is with the look of these. They just seem really random.

These will eventually fizzle out like the 12" figures from a few years back (isn't Bazooka EXACTLY the same figure as before which was marked down at KB for like $4.99???) I'm on the fence with picking up at least 1 or 2 (I think Storm Shadow and the upcoming Beach Head and Destro might sway me)......but for the most part these are just peg fodder.

yeah, i'm pretty sure they're using the same old molds.
they're pretty dissapointing and i've passed on the cobra trooper more than a few times. I just can't do it.
I figure if i buy it, somebody at hasbro's going to think these are super awesome, and then they'll never get better.
I think they succeeded in their mission...if their mission was to make Sigma 6 look more appealing! THD(

The direction is to make something for the under 7 set to play with. They have Sideshow working on products for serious collectors. I wish there was a middle ground in the $30-$40 range at a BBI quality level.

Is it wrong for me to wish they didn't just make male dolls? The ladies in the Joe-verse just don't get the attention from Hasbro they deserve. The Cy-Girls that came out a few years ago from another company were great and some of the off-brand military figure companies are willing to make female soldiers. C'mon Hasbro! I want at least the Baroness! (Zarana and Scarlett wouldn't hurt either.)

It seems like Hasbro is starting to saturate the market with GI Joe stuff, which would explain all the repaints for the 3 3/4' line, Mighty Muggs, Combat Heroes and now this. Repainted 3 3/4" figures and 12" figures are an easy way to get more GI Joe stuff on the shelves, not to mention Mighty Muggs which are all repaints.

The only one I bought was Snake Eyes. My son has Flint.
