Not much hoopla, just going to cut to the customs. Ask questions if you have them or leave comments of any kind.

First, I'd like to show you the Tele-Viper I've been slaving over. I wanted it to be spot on. Now that I have the recipe perfected I can make them more easily when I find the time.



╓───┤Tele-Viper├────╖

Positive - Knee and foot swap. Best purple. Re-creates almost every unique aspect of the original - buttonless shirt, rolled sleeves, loose pants.
Negative - No sleeve pockets. Still waiting for accessories.

╓───┤Major Bludd├────╖

Positive - Single strap holster on the right leg. Cuff half-chevron detail. Water-slide arm decal.
Negative - Arm decal is too dark. Needs to be beltless.

╓───┤Cobra Commander├────╖

Positive - Chrome visor. Belt buckle detail. Better color. Removeable movie-accurate cape. Leg screw holes filled in and sanded over.
Negative - Paint is too thick, from re-painting many many times to find the right shade. Something just doesn't seem right?

Positive - Wash was painted over. The left one has a thin film of a plastic on the chestpiece I found that produces a light bending effect which is intended to pay homage to the original hologram.
Negative - I'm totally satisfied with these, actually.

I tried the first "chrome" spray bottle I found and was very disappointed. Then I tried an $8 bottle of brush on chroming paint and was much less disappointed, but still not satisfied, although it's the sturdiest of all the methods I found. Then I tried silver leaf, which did not work at all for this application.

The last thing I tried worked. It looks the best and is only marginally more fragile than the very durable brush on stuff I bought. It's called Premium Brilliant Finish and it can be found at Wall-Mart.

If you want something a lot more durable and only slightly less reflective try Alclad II Lacquer/Chrome, which you can find in hobby shops.

A cheap old cape from a knock-off toy I think. I've had it forever so I don't recall exactly. It used to connect in the front and was all red, but I cut it to put on the Cobra emblem clasps then painted it.

╓───┤Cobra Civil War Viper├────╖

This is the color scheme of the Vipers under Cobra Commander during the Cobra Civil War period. Briefly appeared in the comics, but I couldn't resist making a custom of them. To the left is a Viper with a chrome visor.

Thanks. I found myself actually looking forward to the CC from the "best of" DVD pack, and I couldn't wait for that so I had to make one as best I could. I wish he had've been released this way the first time.
