Hey, Tank Crew!
I'm a staffer over at Multiversity Comics [dot] Com, and sort of the in-house GI Joe guy over there. I know you fellas like reviews, so I wanted to share a link to one I just did for the first issue of the movie prequel. Give it a look!
Multiversity Comics: Review: G.I. Joe 2: Movie Prequel (http://www.multiversitycomics.com/2012/02/review-gi-joe-2-movie-prequel.html#more)
I've also been doing an issue-by-issue breakdown of Cobra Command, too. Check those out if you have time!

I was impressed by how closely Retaliation is tied into the RoC-verse.
Barber should know his Joe, he's the line editor.
I'd link my review on my site, but my work blocker doesn't like the site, lol.

Well your review sold it for me. I am going to pick it up.

I didn't care for it. No real complaints. Nothing stood out as "bad". It just didn't grab me. I really liked the RoC prequels, but this was just kind of "meh" to me. Glad you guys enjoyed it. I'd say it's worth a look, though. I can't really not recommend it. YMMV on this one.

I didn't really care that much for the comic either. I think most of the reviews make it sound more exciting than it is. The coloring in the issue I think is bad. Flash and Charbroil are well drawn and accurate to their ROC designs but the colors are bad on them and it takes a bit of that charm away. It's not terrible, I was just disappointed in it. After reading all the reviews and previews I kind of expected more out of it.
So we have even more ninja stuff in the prequel.. It was a bit strange for me, when those red ninjas sliced down the helicopters. Oh and a morally broken Abernathy? Not quite sure how things will get to the movie's starting point. By the way, the ROC involvement was neat.

Picked this comic up today. I'm not totally sold on the movie prequals yet, but I'll give the next issue a try at least. The style of art fits in with IDW's other Joe books while the designs mark it as being in the movie universe. Like the inclusion of the RoC figure designs. So far it seems like it could be the start to an interesting bridge between the 2 films. I'd say if you're REALLY into the movie and want to see how the two films are going to tie together then pick it up, if not it's an easy skip.
