Those are awesome! I like the pharaoh, I'm going to have to keep an eye out for these.
Yeah, I actually think these were some of the best new toys from the show! Really looking forward to getting some of them.

Whoah man goes look just like MUSCLE Things, hundreds of thousands of I don't know whats! I had a ton of those when I was a kid. The potato guy worked the best in the ring. He fit rather snugly in the claw that held onto him and was like really hard to get out of that claw so like he always won you know? Yeah, so these new things look cool too but I probably won't get any cause they look small and can't move and stuff you know?

Yeah, I thought they'd be ideal for painting.

I like my figures either massively articulated or static, so I'm cool with these things.

Do it! haha! These guys are freaking cool.
The only problem I have had so far was buying too many of them, one of each 3 pack/12 pack to keep sealed and one 12 pack to open. I need more to buy!
Seeing them today was kinda surprising because last I heard for a release date was May... Target didn't have them that I could see.

Yeah, I think they'll be one of those toy lines that you'll always find yourself trying to hunt-down oddities to complete. But from what I've seen the designs all look pretty neat so I think I'll probably be happy with whatever I find...
And I may be near Target tonight so I'll see if they have them here - although I've a feeling they're going to be a TRU-only thing. Maybe.

There is supposed to be two color schemes but I've yet to actually see any concrete info regarding this.
I see myself going the full 9 and collecting every figure they put out.

From what I gather, Zombies are in green, humans are in peach/Caucasian skin tone.

Yeah, from what I've seen it looks like it might be a line filled with good characters/sculpts and although I'm sure there will be some we'll all want more than others, even the ''weaker'' ones still look very cool.

I had a feeling that would be the case, however I had hoped to see multiple color variations of each like M.U.S.C.L.E and MIMP from back in the day.

I'm kind of split on that. On the one hand colour variants are a nice way to get alternate figures but at the same time I like the uniformity of the colour.
BTW, after Zombies come Aliens. I wonder if they'll keep the green or go with another colour?

Well so far there are 16 figures that have been released.
If you want all of them you need to buy one of each 3-pack and one 12-pack.
Each 3-pack features an exclusive figure not found in the 12-pack and the 12-pack features four exclusive figures not found in 3-packs.
You will end up with doubles but you'll get the whole set.
Ultimately I'd like to get two full sets of each wave, one MOC/MIB and one loose, but that may change if it starts to get expensive.

Only 16? I expected a lot more than that. And I didn't realise they were so uniformly distributed in the multi-packs. I thought it would be random with chase figures or something.
And yeah, I thought grey when I thought about the Alien colourway but then I wondered if it might be a little drab compared to the bright green of the zombies...

Only 16 to start with, more Zombies are on the way!
I've heard that there was supposed to be single figure blind bags that would run about 1.99, I'm not sure if that idea was scrapped though.
TBH it sounded just a bit impractical anyway bearing in mind the 3-packs.

Megabloks has been at it for a while now..I have tons of the Halo ones.
Got the 12 pack today. I really like these figures. It's just a shame that to get the last 4 I'll wind-up having to actually spend MORE on 3-packs to get 4 figures than I did on a single 12-pack... And yeah, I think there was supposed to be mini-coffin blind box of single figures but no signs.
Also, I was under the impression from NYTF that they were releasing the humans at the same time and mixing both together. They also talked about chase figures, which I've seen no sign of. Oh well. Still very cool figures. I love King Guts.
Just watched the video from NYTF - That Figures: NEWS: Toy Fair 2012 - Jakks Pacific's SLUG Zombies Gallery and Video (http://that-figures.blogspot.com/2012/02/news-toy-fair-2012-jakks-pacifics-slug.html) - and see not only that there are a lot of designs they haven't released in the first 16 of this Series but also that there's a sign that says the next Series is ''SLUG Monsters.'' COOL!

It's the spending more that has me leaning towards one complete loose set now.
I hope to see chase figures and the like in the near future, it would add so much to the line.

Monsters? RAD! I still want Aliens but Monsters sound even better!
I wish they'd done MIMP-style variant colourways. That way I wouldn't mind so much if I got two identical sculpts if they were different colours. It would also allow for a wider mix of blind-bagged/boxed toys.
I'm also digging Neil Armsgone and Grave Lincoln myself, although I don't have the 3-pack figures, so I still need the postman, football player, etc. Had I known which figures were 12 and which were 3-pack exclusives, I'd probably have made a decision to either buy one or the other based on that, as I don't like having to buy 8 figures I already have just to get 4, you know?
Yup - the PR guy talks about Aliens but the sign says Monsters. Either way it's good. Although I was looking on Entertainment Earth and they have pre-orders for the zombie line running right up until Autumn, so who knows?

Sorta wish I didn't stumble upon this thread. Cotdamnit! Like most other children of the 80's I loved M.U.S.C.L.E. and these things are like a reincarnation of that line. As if I didn't already have enough toy vices...

Here's my thoughts:
That Figures: REVIEW: SLUG Zombies Series #1 12-Pack (http://that-figures.blogspot.com/2012/03/review-slug-zombies-series-1-12-pack.html)
To be honest, if you've the extra few bucks get the three-figure packs instead, as the exclusive figures look way cooler than those in the 12 pack. OK, so it's another 5 or so dollars in total but if I had the chance to go back and re-do, that's what I'd choose. Not that the 12-pack is poor or anything - I just think the other exclusives are better.

And yeah, I really wish they'd done alt colorways. I'd be fine with duplicates if they were different in SOME respect.
I heated my King Guts over a candle (not directly!) and bent the leg a little and he's a little steadier now but I think he was warped in the box.

Yeah- one duplicate out of 5 boxes is sort of bad odds. At least with the Star Wars license plates things I got a good 10 plates before running into a duplicate. I got 3 duplicate total and one was a slave leia- so a little better distribution there) :)

I have all three 12 packs plus all required 3 packs to have a complete set up to series 3 and am anxiously awaiting series 4!

Somehow skipped the first part of the review, must be due to the fact I'm so tired.
Aliens and Monsters will be awesome to add to the collection! I would love to see some robots as well though as I'm a big fan.
I now have all of Series 1, all-but-one of Series 2, All of Series 3 and even a few from Series 4 and beyond (thanks to some contacts in ''the biz.'')
As I keep saying in each Review, it amazes me how much detail they've managed to capture with each figure. And yes, I believe they're doing another couple of Zombie waves at least but beyond that I'm not sure yet. Here's hoping they do go down the monsters/robots/aliens route!

I really hope that even though Target will no longer be carrying the line that they will get to finish the proposed 100 and venture into another format (Monsters/Robots/Aliens).

I'm hoping it's just Target clearing stock for more SLUGs but it's doubtful. A shame, as they're a lot of fun, although given I like them I should've known they'd run into trouble. I'm a jinx for toy lines.

JAKKS sent me a wad of figures for Review and that included some of the Series 5 and - IIRC - 6 figures, so if they are cancelling them, it absolutely sucks, as there's some great stuff in those waves.
Are you sure they've been pulled from EE? Did they not just all sell out? Some of the upcoming 3-figure packs are still listed:
S.L.U.G. Zombies Mini-Figures 3-Pack Wave 6 - Jakks Pacific - S.L.U.G. Zombies - Mini-Figures at Entertainment Earth (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=JK42054A&id=TH-209169691)

The 12 packs for both those waves are now gone from their site. I went looking for them a month ago and they had pre-orders for both, last week they both vanished. There also have been no new updates to the Jakks Site in regards to anything past wave 3. I want this line to keep going but from what i am seeing, there is something going on.

i picked up a few- but i was really looking for them to be a 'serious?' zombie/survivor toy. instead they were all cartoony and silly- i couldn't get into them. something you could play with like army men but with a zombie theme would have been more what i was looking for.

I think they where going for a MUCLE men type of feel. I like them personally but a serious Zombie line would be cool. I love Zombies.

I hope the line is going to continue. They're the most fun I've had collecting toys for a long while.

Box-O-Zombies do an 8-piece set of ''serious'' zombies, which you might dig.

I think they were cancelled (although I have both :D)
I've been Reviewing a bunch of the figures in my blog (see below) and tomorrow I'll be starting on the Holiday figures.
That's a bummer... My two favorite toy gimmicks are holograms and glow in the dark so these were a no brainer for me.
You get all the good stuff :P
I really hope they are not done. I like them and want more new ones.
I agree, I love these little guys and really wanna see the line continue.
#100 is one I really really want as he is based off the Dude, from the big Lebowski, which is one of my favorite movies.
When I couldn't find the wave 4 coffin I just kept hunting until I found it because my collection felt like it had a hole in it! lol
I hope the line is going to continue. They're the most fun I've had collecting toys for a long while.
I have been toying with the idea of going back and buying more doubles so I can try my hand at custom painting.

I have 4 GITD Slugs from the collector packs - Cleopatra Comin'Atcha, Neil Armgone, Decayin' Dom and Bedraggled Ben.

Every time I look at the poster (on the site, I mean) I spot something new. I'd never noticed ''The Dead.'' That's awesome.
