WM comes through again and I have a question

I just came back from WM and picked up a SE w/ Timber, Battle Armor CC, Snow Job and a Destro/IG 2 pack! Good haul for me since I never see these! There were 4 pegs full of wave 5 two-packs. Anyway, on the IG, I noticed a small octagonal hole on his left lower back. It is obviously there on purpose but doesn't seem to have any purpose. Am I missing something here?

I wanna say it's there because the IG uses the battle armor CC torso, if I am not mistaken.
