I just got the DVD packs (new wave) a few days ago, but havent gotten to open them until today.
And I have to ask:
Was there a point to the first major bludd figure we got as part of the 25th series?
He looks like crap next to the new one.
And why did they release this one so soon? Do you think they listened to all us nerds complain about how stupid wrong it was?
And will they do that with AVAC lol?
The only thing that kinda sucks is the new major has a normal hand, instead of the 3 finger glove.
On a related note, quick kick is so cool! untill you look at his face lol. Is it that hard to make the asian guy almond eyed lol? Both of mine came with "Ace eye" syndrome. just little dots that point in opposite directions :(

That's exactly why I've held out on getting the craptacular painted face and skin colored teeth version. lol!

Yeah, the only pictures I've seen of him aren't that great in the eye department. But with a few seconds and a black Sharpie, you can call him Quick Fix. My DVD sets are due to arrive today so I'll find out soon enough.

either one of two things happened with Bludd (and Zartan for that matter)...
A. they listened to us to us whiney nerds and thought "Hey, why not, we'll get more money off them for the same charactors"
or
B. that was their intention all along, to make us excited to have the charactor and buy it when it was "wrong" then re-release it "corrected" and double dip us...

Personally I can't wait for the DVD pack Bludd. I only have the one carded to go along with my MOC collection but the I await the DVD one, I like the silver toon look of him.

Fortunately, I got one of the cartoon-icon/white-carded Bludds (wasn't planning on opening my carded foiled one), but I hope to soon replace him with the DVD pack. The new DVD packs excite me, there's at least 2 figures per set that I want, and at $20 that's unfortunately about the same price as 2 carded figures, plus a DVD is included, so I am "okay" with paying that... I can't wait for the DVD Bludd, I have the sets on preorder at BBTS, and I assume they'll ship sometime soon... ish...
The other thing that REALLY bugs me about the 25th carded Bludd, is they got lazy with the card art... The other figures that they "updated" the design, they did all-new card art... The bastards were so lazy they didn't even match the card art to the figure this time around... The figure looks nothing at all like the figure on the card art.

Does anyone have a side-by-side comparison of the 25th single card release vs. the 7pack vs. DVD Bludd? I'd love to see them all side by side.

No 3 fingered glove....My 25th bludd might lose a hand.If anyone ask why hes missing a hand, its my DDP bludd after Rey cuts it off.

Im at work right now but ill post pics of the snake eyes and bludds together so you guys can see.
on a related note,
thats 3 serpentors theyve sold us so far. You think they might get it right finally when they stick him in the comic pack lol?
Major blood never had a robo hand. the explanation on the old toy was that, his rocket pistol is very powerful, so he wears that armor on his arm and hand to protect from the backblast.
So the rocket doesnt go off accidently, the trigger has to be pressed down really hard, and thats why the glove has 3 finger slots, because he pulls the trigger with two fingers (more force).
The original toy had the 3 finger armor hand too. ill put up pics of it as well.

Same here. Which is the best Bludd? These are burning questions that must be answered!

Honestly the 7 pack one looks like the one I remember as a kid that my friend had; on the other hand the DVD version looks like the one in the cartoon so i would go with both look good. Compared to the Wave 8 version cmon?

I'm not saying you're wrong, but where was it "explained?" Just curious. It's not on his filecard. As a kid, I thought it was a robotic arm. Granted, I didn't read the comics, but I certainly don't recall it being addressed in the cartoon.

BINGO!!
Hasbro wants you to buy every character at LEAST 3 times. Even if they offer 6 versions. They do the same thing with Star Wars, they release a version that is passable the 1st time, then make it a little better the 2nd time, then make it the best of the 3 the 3rd time...
That's profit.

naw man, you gotta c them next to each other. the single card bludd doesnt look like it at all. wrong boots, wrong armor. the only thing right is his arm and his face and the even effed that up by not painting his mouth properly lol.
This DVD Bludd is nearly 100 percent accurate to the old toy but accurate to the cartoon colors.

It was written in Larry Hamas notes on the character when he wrote the card and the bio for the comic. It was printed in the GI JOE COLLECTORS GUIDE as well. Ill scan it so you can see.

This is what I want to know aswell. From what I have seen, the Desert set Bludd is the best for general likeness and the DVD pack is the cartoon accurate figure
I just want a good Bludd, is that asking too much?

That internet exclusive Desert is definitely the most accurate Bludd. The DVD version is more 'toon accurate in color deco (but I think they still used Zartan's body on that one did they not)?

As for Quick Kick, he looks like Bruce Lee a little. I don't mind that, but I am not a fan of the karate chop hand.

Yeah his upper legs..........
The most accurate upper leg for bludd is dukes/breakers, since he has the gun holster on the right and nothing at all on the left.
The first one is color accurate even with the emblem on his arm. But they used the wrong body.
And the toon bludd was given a normal hand for toon accuracy.
Heres a pic of the 3 bludds. I also included the boots of the first blood since I took them off to "correct" them.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/SuperMario01/DSC05591.jpg
So really, all someone has to do is paint black the silver on the toon figure and his helmet, and give him duke/breaker thighs. Which im going to do right now to my first bludd lol

I'm starting to see better looking figures in the DVD set compared to the single cards. I freakin love Lady Jay from the wave 1 DVD pack!! I want her in a single card.
IDK, the desert pack looks like it's more accurate, except the holster is on the wrong thigh I think.
Huh, just noticed... new arm sculpt. But did they do a new head sculpt for DVD pack Bludd?

its not a new arm sculpt, just the other one is painted with silver high lights so you can see it better.
The heads are the same but the hole was retooled so it sits better on the new body for the dvd one. Also, mine has his helmet glued down far.

I still believe that Red Star's legs make for the perfect Bludd (you can always swap out the holster with Duke or Breakers since Red Star's is gigantic).

10-04-2008, 04:24 PM
Yeah I think the Duke legs are wrong for Bludd....then you have a pouch on his leg.......Red Star would be better.......

That DVD one looks amazing. Can't wait to open mine. D5, I think the helmet looks better lower on the head, and glad they retooled the neck hole in the head.
Looking back, I always hated the original Bludd figure. He was just lumpy looking, like a wax museum Bludd got a tad hot. Or like a blowup doll version of the Major.
I also like the blue helmet, it makes more sense to go with the Cobra colors. Still hate that the friggin arm doesn't bend, but it's loads better than the previous release. I never cared for the original toy Bludd's colors anyways, a tad poopy-colored.
Are his teeth painted yet, or did they still let that slip? I can't tell from the pics.

wow yea he looks better with the helmet fixed for sure and the new torso fits way better the only thing i hate is the zartan upper legs
why did they choose those when the OG fig never had any shields on his upper legs ?
they have so many other upper legs to choose from why those

I'm thinking what Hasbro is doing is trying to make it like the cartoon and comics but instead of DNA we have to buy 5 or 6 Serpentor's and take a few parts from each to make the true Serpentor.

Yeah, they did paint his teeth white finally. Redstar does have the pouch on his leg next to the gun, so its the same as dukes.
the arm on the dvd bludd doesnt have the green emblem like the first release does.
