I want to make a Short-Fuze custom figure for myself because the one coming up from Hasbro doesn't cut it. What type of green color should I use for it that resembles closely the vintage action figure? Also how can I make the chest harness?

As I recall, he was "Hawk" green (the middle one, not the light like Zap and not the dark like Grand Slam). Hawk might be a good starting point, since they also shared the visor, hair color and same head, actually.

Black harness unlike the current ones in production, it was more like backpack shoulder straps with a connector in the middle. You could use Hawk's harness and trim & glue it. The back (across his shoulder blades) isn't terribly unlike what the front of Short-Fuze's looked like, and it went right under the armpits so it could potentially work. The backpack was one of those "shell rack" style ones, also in green.

Brown boots, silver shoulder pouches.

In the comics he was depicted wearing glasses, the figure didn't have them.

They're using a repaint of Doc's head.

So if you got a spare Doc, paint his head!
