Is anyone still collecting these "Embossed Foil Logo" Variants ?
I didn't think this one existed, then I spotted it on Ebay and had to have it! I'm still looking for a Rock N Roll, Torpedo, Snake Eyes w/ Knives, and I think a few others... But I have most of them (including Bludd & Hiss Driver) and I think they've been slightly more difficult to locate.

Well, here she is boys... my new favorite figure in my collection! I need to know, does anyone else have one of these?

Do you guys know if there is a list out on all the figs that have an embossed logo card variant? It would be pretty cool to get these all as a set. The embossed logo card variants look really sweet especially on mint cards!

My research indicates that they would be more valuable and collectible due to the logo being double stamped or something like that, I don't know but here's what I have so far.

"Mirrored finished" 25th cards are awesome, but aren't really variants. They are neither mistakes nor planned, so they can't be considered that. They seem to only be the fresh products whenever a fresh printing is begun. Llike when you change the ink in a printer or get a new printer, everything that comes out is so much clearer. Some scalper started this whole "embossed variant" notient to try and stretch the buck they want for it farther. If anything, it's debossed instead of embossed because the logo actually indents (due to printing pressure) instead of protruding (like something being "3D" embossed).

Most of my MOC collection are on the minty mirrored-finished cards. I admit, I hunt them too. They do look so much nicer. I have 10 W2 Cobra Troopers on shiny cards if anyone is interested. $8.50 each plus shipping (Damn, now I sound like a scalper). I'll also trade them for BATs and TRU CGs.

I'm sorry brother but that's not true, because if it was then Fireflys, Red Ninjas, Stalkers, and anything before Wave 4 would have had these fresh printing Mirror embossed logos too, but they don't! It seems as if the cards changed after Wave 3 beginning with Wave 4. I'm telling ya, I think Hasbro knew what they were doing here... it was no accident!

These babies are on short supply, I know, I've been looking!

I have to agree. Most people hawking these on ebay seem to be trying to milk all they can out of people collecting the 25th items. Is there any official word from hasbro on these so called "variants" cards?

Ok, so a quick review of the unopened ones I have:

Rock n' Roll. Mine has a crease on the card through the 25th logo and the lower left corner has some smashing, though (I usually don't check cards since I'm an opener. A slow opener as I try to get my shelves in order, but that's the plan, anyway).

Destro (Iron Grenadier).

Card stamps are 80042 if that helps you hunt.

that's wrong. the mirrored finish isn't printed, and doesn't correlate to the printing analogy because it's a specific material that doesn't wear down with use, so to get the different mirror finish a different material was used. this is clearly planned from the manufacturers end, who ordered different chrome materials to use, thus the two cards are different from each other and variants. this isn't scalper hype. it's up the the given collector interested in such to weigh the importance they put on such a variant, but they are variants none-the-less.

wave 4 also saw the release of several figures on thicker card stock, because thicker card stock was used. it wasn't that the cards come out thicker when you first start cutting them and then the cards lose quality as they get further down the line.

I've seen all kinds of variations in printing quality in the cards I've opened as H'bro worked on their process over the waves. I agree with the other folks that are calling it nothing more than another Scalper's ploy that has somehow taken on a life of its own...

I don't think the hype is in its beginning stages, when they first hit they got quite a bit of pub on the site.

I passed them up to keep my collection matching.
My only Chrome ones are Major Bludd and Pimp Destro.
Im not sure on the diffculty in finding them in comparison to the regular foil versions.
You are right tho that the Storm Shadow is a difficult one.
I would have figured that their would be a even number of Wave 4 Chrome sets.
