You know how kids always put stuff in their mouths?

Well, I still recall the taste of the color change plastic of Zartan's Swamp Skier.

Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

The Swamp Skier doesn't change colors, just Zartan himself. But yeah, i'm totally drooling thinking about it now, lol.

I thought I heard the Swamp Skier did change colors.

I recall the taste of Zartan but only because someone on another board once dare people to lick one. lol

Nah, the cool "action feature" was the fact that both changed color in sunlight.
...the green, color-changing plastic of the vehicle body is prone to sun damage and darkening to a dark shade of brown.
Damn I loved that set. Guess I might have to see what can be salvaged from the new joke of a skier to fix my old one.

i thought only the stickers on zartan changed colors? also, what was the point of the color change? if a Joe walks by him and hes green are they more likely to just ignore him or something?

That is the basic idea of camouflage, right?

Seriously, though, I always got the impression that the simple color change that the figure did was not meant to have a tactical function, but rather be a hint of what he COULD do.

The Swamp Skier changing colors? Maybe he just like things that change.

Well, that's simple. This is a nw, modern Zartan. He doesn;t bother doing actual disguises anymore.

He just turns green and then green-screens whatever color effects he needs before he puts his videos up on youtube.

Hmmm...Yeah, I seem to recall him flinching away from sunlight in the cartoon.

Yeah, in the cartoon, sunlight seemed to hurt him, and caused him to turn blue. I know the orginal figure had all of the flesh tone would turn blue in the sun, and the stickers that went behind the clear parts of his armor had a thermal change to it. Don't remember the swamp skier changing color, though.

Such toy minutiae.

I can remember the taste of the orange foam from the trash compactor in the original Death Star playset from way back when. I loved chewing on that as a child.

I've never expressed that thought to anyone else before.
