I think he is buying the wrong line of figures. They are still 3 3/4 inch based figures. He said twice the size as the o-ring style (if o-ring is implied by 80's)

He's new here and excited to have an opinion. It doesnt have to make sense. He's posting for himself, not us. Also, gi joe extreme.

The great thing about the Tank is that you'll find fans and collectors of all the different eras of Joes.
Now, not to be rude, but you need to figure out which section of the forum your threads belong in.
For example, there is an entire section dedicated to the ARAH vintage figs (and probably where this thread belongs instead of in the toy reviews section): G.I. Joe Toys Vintage Discussion - HissTank.com - G.I. Joe (http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-joe-toys-vintage-discussion/)
It sounds like this will be your new home away from home.

I like all Joe's old and new alike. I grew up with the Joe's from the 80s and loved them then, I still love them. I really like the modern era Joes too. I can't wait for the new movie Joes. I've also been really digging Sgt. Savage lately.

Bad impersonation of Rayden-BTW anyone notice the commanders head exposed a bit from the underpart of helmet. So are we to have already noted his skin was bluish-white? Because in 87 movie the faceplate probably went as far back on his face to jawline just before the ear area.

Jazz hands are a staple at my house. I'm teaching my 18-month-old how to do 'em. She's learning fast.

no... it was just a picture drawn and colored in about 2 minutes by a Korean working 18 hour days so they could get the other 32,000 cels for that episode.

Guys, guys, you got it all wrong! This IS a review. He's saying they're "awefull", that is, full of awe. As in awesome!

So you're telling me that Tomax and Xamot aren't supposed to be mongoloid as depicted here? And that Rocky Dennis wasn't a random Cobra trooper with a hand-sewn insignia on his uniform?
I call bullshit on you, sir.

You can always rell the people that were into GI Joe for the cartoon only. They all think that there is no such thing as a decent GI Joe befor 1982 or after 1987.
There are many great figures and characters that were produced by HASBRO after 1987 that wer never in the cartoon or the comic book.
These poor people will never know the joys of being a GI Joe collecter until they learn to see past 1987.

In before the internet collapses....
Oh and '87-94 were some awesome years, furthermore the new stuff blows the old stuff out of contention.

Ice Cream Soldier is a cool figure. Seriously...he kicks butt and has an awesome sculpt! I'm still trying to figure out what modern parts to use to make one.

But not beyond 1991...from '92 to 2007 bad things happned...and that dark time should be locked up in a Castle grey Skull vault for eternity

Agree, except from '94-2007...and Castle Grey Skull should be guarded by Richard Simmons to scare everyone away from it.

Whoa! Some of us that were into the cartoon only and not the comics are not only into the cartoon characters. Yeah, mostly the cartoon characters, but Hasbro has done a great job of expanding the character roster. Hell, even back in the 80's i liked and owned vehicles and figures that were never/hardly ever in the show!
I now the joys of being a GI Joe collector! Yo joe!
