Final Thoughts
This is a pretty awesome figure, all told. The sculpt is cool, he's a superb update to the original character and the equipment - minor issues aside - is great.
If I had to pick fault with the figure, I'd have to say the hands are a bit of a let-down. They don't seem very adept at holding the gear he comes with and - especially when he's holding the board and his case - you get the feeling that if you brush the figure even slightly, one - or both - of the accessories are going to come out of his hands.
Secondly, the loose torso - and this could be an issue with my figure alone - is annoying, as it makes posing him quite cumbersome, especially when you're juggling with getting him to hold his case and the trauma board (and keep in mind that I just pointed-out how loosely he grips them.) Like I say, maybe I was just unlucky and your Lifeline's articulation may be just fine.
But even with these errors, this is figure not just an excellent update but an excellent figure in his own right.

nice review. Mine doesn't have a loose torso.

Ditto on the torso, mine is nice and tight. Hate that for you tho, cause he has been a real bugger to find.

my complaint was the dying of plastic instead of completely painting it red. Other than that, great figure.

Do the kneed pads not bother anyone else? Otherwise i was sooo stoked they made this one. Thanks for the review!
I wanted this figure, right until I saw this picture of it. Now, not so much. It just seems like it should have been better. The red and white is too plain, it needs a third color. I'm not a fan of the knee-pads either. Especially since it covers up the "RESCUE" text.
Thanks guys. I guess I was just unlucky with my torso joint.
And Ford - that colour thing could be an effect of my camera.

Lifeline has one leg longer than the other.
And I hate that.

My comments are that I was bummed that the glasses aren't removable and that I don't like the "loose" look of the chinstrap on the helmet. As for the pistol, if you really want to be a Cannon purist, stick a Cobra shock trooper's tazer in there. A less-lethal sidearms fits the character well.

Yeah, that's very true about the helmet, but I suppose the loose straps could have interfered with head movement.
And the earlier figures came with weapons, didn't they? IIRC, he's holding a pistol on the card art. Maybe he uses it just to shoot over enemy's heads or something - I just watched an episode of ARAH where he orders the firing of missiles to scare Cobra troops away, so... /shrug.

Iok, I have to agree it's not just "an excellent update but an excellent figure". i'm biased, since Lifeline is my all time favorite character/figure, but I really love this fig. He was a pain to find at retail, but well worth the wait. The knee pads don't bother me, since I figure he does a lot of kneeling either on the ground or in a chopper. The medical accessories are well done, and I'm glad he actually has some, as opposed to just a mask or a pack. The detailing on the trauma bord is nice, almost feels like a real one. I wasn't bothered by the inclusion of weapons, since I don't consider Lifeline a pacifist. I was a bit put off by his rifle at first, since it would be hard for him to shoot and carry his med case. Since getting the figure, it's grown on me though. I know some people don't like the fact he doesn't come with his original backpack, but I'm actually glad he didn't and I wound up giving him another one. In all, a really great figure.

I got the 5-figure set with him in it at BBTS.
I want people to seriously look at this figure while they go around saying Hasbro sucks and doesn't care about us because of 5 vehicle drivers we would have tossed in a bin anyway.

QFT. I really don't care that much about the vehicle drivers, if it means great figs like this one.

My only real gripe is that his hands just don't seem quite up to the task of holding the gear (I'm a bit obsessive about displaying figures with as much of their stuff as possible, so my Lifeline is holding his case in one hand and the board in the other) and that the syringe holster is a little on the less-than-secure side. Had those errors not been present, I'd have given him an A rating.

It's hard to really predict what the other figures will be like but from the stills I've seen the Wave 2 onward single carded figures look superb. I don't understand all the hate because some of the drivers - who'll be sitting in the vehicles anyway in my collection - aren't as articulated.

I do hear what you're saying about his hands, Iok. He holds the rifle well, but the case is a bit loose. I haven't tried to get him to hold the board yet, I just strapped someone to it and called it good. Although you probably can't do this, I've noticed he holds things better when I've taken him out in the cold for a few minutes-maybe try putting him in the freezer. As far as the syringe gun goes, I've got the IV set up on the trauma board, so I put the gun in the case and stuck another pistol in the holster.

In your Pile of Loot or is he a pre-order? Hope you get him soon, either way, as he's a cool figure. And thanks - glad you liked the Review.

Good idea - on all fronts.
He holds the board pretty well but it's just awkward to position at times due to the size of it. Once he's standing with it, it's fine but it can be hairy if you're posing him or moving the figure.

Everything on my LifeLine is ok, but when i took him out package, the hose from the oxygen tank broke off, but i glued it back.

No problem on the tips, Iok. I try to help fellow 'tankers out. Couple of points on the trauma board: Back when I was an EMT, I carried a few of them around, and they are very heavy and awkward, so it's not surprising the toy one is, too. As I said earlier, I'm using mine as a stretcher of sorts for my custom evac copter, so I strapped the comic pack battle damaged SE to it and loaded him up. hopefully, I'll get pics up in the not too distant future.

Cool - I'll look forward to seeing that.
Sadly as my display space is so small (until I can get another case) I try wherever possible to use the base as the maximum ''footprint'' for each figure. It's a little cluttered at times but it works with most. But as a result, I don't have the space to display him with the trauma board unless he's holding it. And it's such a cool accessory I don't want to leave it in my spare part box.

My thoughts...
Because this figure was excluded from the 25th Ann it became a high demand fig with adult collectors...there's really nothing very special about this figure except for the cool accessories...would have considered using 'great' terminology if the glasses were removable....to me he's the Medic mailaway with added accessories...
I'm not a nice person I know.

I think its funny how much the card art looks like Ben Aflek
Great figure though

I actually like the design of the character, as they not only managed to keep the ARAH cartoon look but he also doesn't stick-out like a sore thumb among the modern, more militaristic Joes.

I actually own two lifelines, (moc and loose). I believe any criticism about him is mostly nit picking. If you think about, Hasbro has made major leaps and bounds in design. Lifeline is a perfect example. Not only has Hasbro included a whole life saving kit with the figure but also managed to make a very average and some may argue, even a boring figure, into an amazing looking figure. I've never liked Lifeline as a kid. The original ARAH figure was horribly sculpted. POC and the 30th line have opened the possibilities that we as fans only dreamed of. Bottom line is there will never be a totally flawless figure no matter how fantastic it is. When I look at my shelf and see Lifeline and Sci-Fi next to each other I'm still lefted in awe. It's as almost the design team took every complaint we ever had, corrected them and went way beyond our expectations. The true grade this guy deserves is A+.

As I said, my Lifeline had a wonky torso (which sucked) but that's just bad luck on my part. The thing I really didn't like is that his hands aren't the best. But that aside, he's very cool.

Cool review. One thing I don't like about the figure is the inclusion of accessories that they didn't include space to fit in the case and the fact that hyperdermic gun barely fits in either holster, because the holsters weren't designed for it. Otherwise, I absolutely love this figure.

The mask and oxygen tank fit pretty well if you furl them up. As for the IV pipe it connects to the trauma board, so I attached it there and then wrapped it around the board.
And yeah, the syringe is a little awkward to get in there but you can get it to stay in if you wiggle it in a bit. That's what she said and stuff.

Just stopped by Toys R Us and I was holding Lifeline, Airtight and Sci-Fi in my hands and decided NOT to buy them at $9 each and put them back. I hope I don't regret it. Something tells me that I should have gotten Lifeline, but I don't want to start a 30th Line collection. I stopped at 25th.

I can understand your hesitance (there are toy lines I don't buy because then I'd HAVE to collect them) but you are missing out on some great figures...

I don't doubt that. Man, I need a major raise or a career change. It's hard to stay on these things with a kid a woman who can't find a job and won't find a job thanks to her crippled mother's dependence on her. GRRRRR!!! Don't get me wrong, my son is the world to me and not quite old enough to enjoy these figs. I could encourage him but he'll want to take it out of the package. I just want to display them on the wall along with my 25th line.

I like that Lifeline is no longer a pacifist. This figure was a great update to the original.

Agreed 100%. It's cool to see him (and Airtight) in the line-up, as it makes a change from all the khaki.
