IT'S TIME AT LAST!

Zed's Favorite figures has begun, all week I will count down my favorite figures from the last year at ten per day all the way to #1.

This year I am a bit late due to some last minute arrivals to the list, but here we go.

First off the introduction (explaining what all this is about):

http://www.zedsjoesite.com/fav2011/2011.html

But if you want to jump ahead to the actual countdown here you go with #50-#41

Something to whet you whistle with favorite figures this year, Totals: 16 GI Joes, 23, Marvel (Incuding The marvel movies, but to be fair there are very few of the Movie figures), 5 Star Wars (not at all by choice, that was distrobution), 6 other (Thundercats, Unimax, ect).

Cool! Feels like I was just reading your 2010 list. Been reading for a few years this is at least my 3rd time. Don't always agree, but love the list.

Thanks Jay, in some ways I hope people won't agree, it shows we are all thinking. But of course these things do spark debate anyway.

Ha, well I noticed this year for the most part figures were either really good or really bad, not much in between.

As I said, I really think joe brought it this year more than any other year before. I hope they do just as well next year, so far I see three strong possiblities and a few maybes already.

So do I, I can;t see how a Wovlerine 2 might top it, but you never know. Still I can see why so many passed it up, but it really is an amazing figure.

.

1 instance is Cable. I don't even like cable, but I'd have him ranked higher than Dr Strange (whom i do like). Something about that figure really hits the mark. :)

See for me character counts as a lot for a figure, I have loved Dr. Strange since I was a kid and part of me always will (no matter how much Marvel tryes to make him go against character LOL). So that counts for a great deal. There are exceptions, Zam Wessel, really have no attachment to the character but WOW what a cool figure they made. Really made me want to add her to the Bounty Hunter collection. But I do like cable as well, but not overwhelmingly. I really dig the figure, but doubt I will try for another if they re-release him later (never know though).

very good and fun list

Thanks, glad you liked it.

I'm the opposite--I thought Strange was the best MU figure of the year--They hit the ball out of the park on a cool looking character who has been vital to the MU at large since before Secret Invasion. The Avengers, The Defenders, and the Illuminati have all had Strange participation in the last few years.

Cable was dead when his figure came out. He was a cool figure, but I can't think of any major impact Cable has had on the stories I've read since 1995. Cable was a cool figure, but it wasn't the look of my Cable.

Just as a figure, I think it should be pointed out that strange also had extra wrist articulation which made his hands mobile for spellcasting, such articulation is debateable on cable but it gives Strange a bit of umph over Cable cause the extra articulatiion matched the character, that just occured to me.

Also strange is a founding member of the Defenders (one of the ore popular super-hero teams in comics, although Marvel has never been able to capture that orignal magic, pardon the pun, which is why they keep failing as a series).
