what do you think the most overrated movie is of all time? for me its scarface, i hate this movie, i litterally can not sit through watching this entire movie. tony montana is one of the greatest and most memorable characters of all time but the movie itself really sucks.

In a sense (at least for me) it was overrated as several of my co-workers at my previous job just raved about the film and constantly mentioned scenes in it which they thought were hilarious. I watched it with an open mind and I felt it did not live up to the hype.

And I don't think it is fair to say that it wasn't praised enough...the man won a Golden Globe for it. It's no Oscar, but still. I would also throw "Anchorman" into the preposterously overrated category; the movie had about 10 funny minutes.

I have to agree with Zer0G and The Conflict. I thought Kill Bill Volume 1 was boring up until she went to get the sword... then I only became a little more interested. I even walked out during the fight scene with those Crazy 88 guys... I could appreciate the cheese factor, I just thought it got tool old too fast. However, I will admit that Volume 2 was more enjoyable. But then again I only saw it once...

So, for several years any time I would tell somebody that I had never seen Escape From New York their jaw would hit the floor and they would act as if I just insulted their mother. Long story short, I was convinced to finally sit down and watch it and I was unimpressed to say the least. I know it has a huge cult following, but it just didn't do anything for me.

I felt let down by the new Indiana Jones film but I'm going to let them off the hook with the alien thing. The first 3 movies were based in the 1930's - 1940's everybody had Nazi's on the brain. In the 1950's it was all about UFO's and Communists. It makes sense that they'd go in that direction even if it came off as kinda silly.

For the list of actos you mentioned, I call them overrated actors who's range is limited to that one genre. Some will disagree, and I respect their opinion.

As for what 5cythe said, he didn't generalize. There are a large number of kids who see that movie and all of a sudden think they've found their blueprint for cooldom (Is that a word?) He used the qualifier "Wannabe" which singles out specifically who he's talking about. I just don't see the generalization, and it's really not worth being offended over. Especially since you've already stated that 5cythe is generally a good guy.

For the list of actos you mentioned, I call them overrated actors who's range is limited to that one genre. Some will disagree, and I respect their opinion.

As for what 5cythe said, he didn't generalize. There are a large number of kids who see that movie and all of a sudden think they've found their blueprint for cooldom (Is that a word?) He used the qualifier "Wannabe" which singles out specifically who he's talking about. I just don't see the generalization, and it's really not worth being offended over. Especially since you've already stated that 5cythe is generally a good guy.

Seriously though, Anthony Michael Hall has been in more good movies than Nick Cage, and AMH is kind of a chump.

I definitely limit my Nick Cage movies, I haven't seen Wild at Hear, and only have seen bits of Raising Arizona

But if it anything like his acting in Con Air, I'd shoot myself first before I see it.

I'll have to chime in with Scarface. This was one of the most boring movies I have ever seen, and I still don't see the appeal of it.
As for recent movies, The Dark Knight was pretty hyped up and was a decent movie, but anyone expecting a jaw dropping superhero movie is in for disappointment.
Independence day was another turd. I have a friend of mine at work who thinks this is the best action movie ever made and we argue about it all the time.
BTW Fight Club is the shit!

Never Ever........Here is my reason for the hate.....

I had two Room mates years ago that would watch it EVERY DAY!!!!
Would sit there and say the lines EVERY TIME they watched it EVERY DAY!! This went on for 2 years........I took the DVD and pissed on it then moved out...........I hate that movie......and I wish Not only had Goose died but the whole damn cast..........
