View Full Version : Who wants a 25th Anniversary Mission Brazil set?

After seeing the pics for the upcoming TRU 5-packs, I was disappointed that they seem like lazy repaints that don’t really make much sense in the Joe mythos, much less the 25th anniversary. I would much rather have a set that celebrates the first box set – Special Mission Brazil.
I’d love to see 25th versions of Leatherneck, WetSuit, Mainframe and DialTone, but since these haven’t been made yet, it makes things tougher for what would be basically a repaint set. Carrying over Claymore (retooled from Stalker), and adding 4 new characters by using existing figures with retools/repaints would be much easier.
Claymore – this guy has to be in here, as a nod to the original set (Stalker body, Duke head, Beach Head vest, Snake Eyes Uzi)
Rampage – not really a fan-favorite, but this is an easy repaint to make a new character (Beach Head repaint and accessories)
Shipwreck – yeah it’s Tiger Force, BUT this version of Shipwreck was part of the Brazil line of Joes. Plus I’m a sucker for the wacky foreign repaints (Shipwreck/Polly repaint and accessories)
Cobra De Aco – what better villains for the set than the two fan fave Brazil bad guys? I’ve always dug this guy’s look and it’s an easy retool/repaint (Flash repaint and accessories, Snake Eyes v1 head)
Cobra Invasor – a simple Snake Eyes repaint, maybe in a dark green to give it some difference than the original (Snake Eyes v1 repaint).
EDIT: I had Mortal in here by mistake, replaced it with Invasor.

yes, and exactly how you have it, save I would replace Shipwreck with Leatherneck. Hasbro made a custom Leatherneck out of Gung-Ho, so the character can easily be done with existing parts. I like the Wreckage idea, but would prefer to see him have Beach Head's head but Firefly's gear.

Nothing but love for that Cobra Mortal... I make have to go pick up another Snake-eyes.
Shipwreck looks a little too... flamboyant for my liking.

I .......WOULD.......BUY................MANY........ ......OF..................THESE!!
But I think that shiwreck is just too dandy for my taste! Definitely needs a leatherneck and they could totally do a wet-suit fig instead of wreckage, just use the same body, FF's webgear and a new head sculpt!
Eureka!!

OK, so Cobra Mortal needs a home, so how’bout a Special Mission Argentina set? A chance for Hasbro to give a nod to the fans by giving us some of the legendary Argen 7 figures in the 25th style.
Topson – an easy repaint, using the Stalker body and Duke head.
Manleh – I’ve always dug this look, even with the weird yellow harness. A straight Stalker repaint.
Redmack – another Stalker/Duke combo.
Glenda – one of my fav Int'l variants. An easy Scarlett repaint, with vac metal on the torso.
Cobra Mortal – I love this dude. Easy Snake Eyes repaint, with vac metal parts.

Wow man, your photoshop skills are insane. I'd buy both sets in a friggin' heartbeat!
But just so you know, that isn't Manleh, it's just the "variant that didn't have enough yellow paint added to the mix" green stalker ;) :D

The Brazil set holds no special place for me as I never had a TRU near me, but I'd buy it, I'd go way out of my way to buy it.
However, the Argentina set is great, and I know they said they had no intentions of making international figures, however the Glenda and Mortal are so great. I'm hoping an exclusive set or a comic pack for at least one or two of these.
I know Glenda was killed in the DDP comics, and Mortal was just captured in issue 25ish, so maybe there is a glimmer of hope...all I can say is I'll have mine when single packs of Scarlett and Snake Eyes are released.

Well... I opted for a flat black [but there's a low gloss clear over it] instead of a dark grey or Chrome coat... But I blame you on some level for making that Cobra Mortal Look so good. There's some detailing left to do on the legs, but it's coming along well for about four hours worth of time.

Yeah... No gots me a plastic hammer, I've been prying with a screw driver and exacto knife.
I almost mucked up the head trying to pop it back on... Its a tight fit. Course, I suppose I could've waited for the clear coat to dry. Ah well.
The upper body needs its coats, but you get the idea of how it'll turn out. And I stole the crossbow to make him a little more "correct".

Honestly, buying another five set was mostly out of Frustration. I've been to Target three days in a row and found the same three Storm Shadows [I always find just three Storm Shadows...] hanging about. Still, I was determined to buy something GI Joe related...
Having seen this thread, I figured the Joe pack was better than another Legions set.

Thread from the dead! With Ninja Ku being released with an International logo, maybe now we have a good chance to see these guys - viva la foreign characters!
(but not before Dusty, Airtight, Alpine, Recondo, Cover Girl, Zap & Short Fuze of course!) :)
