Hey, fellow Tankers! This is my first time on the computer since last Wednesday or Thursday. I don't really like to talk much about myself, but I am very excited to be back on the computer and this website - it's kind of weird, but you all are like a group of friends that I feel I can share this with.

My reason for this post is as follows: I underwent a 5 hour surgery on my spine to remove a couple of discs that were "squishing" my spinal cord and causing problems in my feet and legs, as well as causing extreme pain in my back. My surgery was at Loyola University Hospital near Chicago, and took over 5 hours. After spending Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and half of Monday in the hospital, I finally was able to go home Monday. I am able to walk, sit, stand, and do many basic things already, but full recovery will take months and will include some intense physical therapy. I won't be able to pick up my 2 young sons for many months, but they are partly the reason I decided to go through with the surgery. I am not too proud to say that because I am only 32, I was scared to death about not being able to play ball with my sons and be an active part of their growing up; I was also afraind that I would never walk again or worse, but my hat is off to the surgeons who took care of me and did such a magnificent job.

So to fellow Tankers Syn3sthesia, Freekarrtt, Skyhawk, and Flash70, I will be sending you all PM's as soon as I can. I will be out of work for a while, so I will hopefully be able to finish painting my first ever customized GI Joe (the tank is done, just need to do the driver) and get it submitted. Again, this is a great website and I commend all involved who keep it going and make it such a useful tool. Thanks again, all, and I am thrilled to be back on the website!!

Many Prayers for a speedy and full recovery. That's not minor surgery but it sounds like a positive outcome already. Keep the faith and stick with the therapy... It will make the difference in the end. I agree this website is full of great people and I'm glad to be a part of it

Congratulations brother! I have a disc that bulges into my spinal cord every now and then and has kept me bedridden for weeks at a time so I completely understand your pain. It took a lot of guts for you to go through with that surgery and I'm glad to hear you're doing well!

Thanks to all for the well wishes. Things are progressing nicely, but slowly. I can drive now, which is good - but I haven't seen any Wave 10 or vehicles yet - which is bad.

But again, I do appreciate the nice messages from all. Thanks!
