The New Knight Rider - Anyone watching it.

Anyone else watching this. I caught the first episode of the new season last night and it seemed to be alot better than the Pilot shown awhile back.

No, I didn't see it and don't have much of an interest. I watch too many shows to keep up with as it is, and nothing about the commercials really sparked my interest. (It seems a little overdone, but I could be wrong on this since I haven't seen the show.)

So if Pontiac is bringing out a new Firebird, this would have been the perfect setup to introduce the car...and it would have been an extension of the original. But a Mustang, wtf. I watched bits and pieces of the pilot movie last year while channel surfing, and caught the end where Hoff showed up with his bad plastic surgery and horrible lines, and that was enough for me. No need to ever waste an hour watching that.

1) I actually dont mind the mustang cobra...but I'm a car guy. I just hate the transforming BS.

2) Pontiac is NOT bringing back the Firebird anytime soon. Not even rumored at this point.

And sadly, it has nothing to do with that. GM was willing to do whatever they needed to get their cars on the show. Ford was willing to pony up more cash.

I haven't made up my mind about it yet. The pilot movie was hokie. Last night's episode seemed like it's trying too hard to be something it's not. I think the main plot line of Tracer's background and lack of memory is too heavy for Knight Rider.

I think KITT has too many features. All I want the car to do is talk, drive itself, be bullet proof, and have ejector seats and turbo boost. "KITT! Turbo boost!" With all those features, where's the danger at?

I think the cast is too large. Most of the old episodes were just Michael, KITT, and the bad guys.

It's better than some shows, but it's not Knight Rider.

I watched the pilot and the New episode. It is really corny in it's own sorta way. I can't believe KITT can TRANSFORM while those people are in the car!! It's amazing what you can do with computers, but the bottom line... I don't think it makes the next 6 weeks. I hate to say that being a Knight Rider fan and all... but I saw a bunch of crap last night.

I thought that the show was pretty good. If you are looking at it from an entertainment standpoint. If you go in with high expectations, expect to be disappointed. After KN 2000 or whatever those 5 cars were, this is a HUGE improvement.

haven't watched it and have no desire. though I am on a Joe site because I have an extreme sense of nostalgia for the toys, I just don't have that same nostalgia for everything I liked in the 80's. for the most part, save for G.I. Joe, my interests have moved beyond what I liked in the 80's. I have no interest in a new Diff'rent Strokes show, would skip on a Simon and Simon motion picture, and the thought of ever watching a new Knight Rider honestly never crossed my mind.

I liked it, I was a Knight Rider fan when the show hit, and when my mom told me that she was going to have another child in 83 she asked me to help pick a name, and my brother's name in Devin (she picked the spelling). But anytime I'm riding around in my Trans Am and I call my brother it's very Surreal! So Last night was cool because it was like a flashback and right during the commercial break my brother called, and made the episode perfect (we don't talk a lot, because of his college schedule). So in short I really Enjoyed it.

The last season of Knight Rider had some transformations on Kitt.
That's when the series lost most of it's popularity...

I wonder how people who've never seen the '80's Knight Rider series, look at this new series.

I think this new Knight Rider series is not too bad if you don't link it to the '80's Knight Rider.
It has it's moments. I can't say wow this series is awesome, but I don't dislike it either.

I didn't like the pilot episode of Heroes.
Will that series become better?

Now about the new Terminator Sarah Conner Chronicles Series... That series is awesome!

So I watched it. DVR'd it actually. Let me start this by saying if you do not currently own a DVR/Tivo, you are doing yourself a disservice. Period. I have been a new man with a new found freedom with this device since I got it 3 years ago.

Hour long television shows are now 39 minutes. No commercials ever. 30 minute shows are like 19 minutes. It's like concentrated TV time instead of wasting precious minutes of life suffering through a fricking reel of promos for 500 new shows when all you wanna do is get back to the show you actually wanted to see.

Not to mention if someone ever says.. "hey have you ever watched Heroes?" you can go right home to your DVR, press H on the search and bring it up and press 1 button and every episode that's new is recorded and waiting for the day the internet goes dark. heh



Anyway.... Autobot Rider.


Watched it. Liked and disliked it about the same.

I loved K.I.T.T. but we have become this society that has a hard time letting go and enjoying the ride. So I also have a hard time seeing a Ford Mustang transform into a F150 and back and not ask a couple questions. Either way, the way it did it looks f*cking rocking! but once you just say to yourself... "I'm gonna try to see this from a kids eyes" kinda like how we watched the original KR...you start to enjoy it.

Other then Val Kilmer and the the bad ass car from hell... I really don't have any other positives except hot ass chics.

Knight Indstries is now a team of computers/eng geeks. Everyone is 25-29ish, super attractive and wiegh 100 pounds. Except of course the "professor". The old guy is the new Devon I take it.

The problem I have is Michael Knight is supposed to be a Rough, tough, I take no guff kinda bad egg yet a ladies man. Kinda like that Magnum P.I. kinda deal. ( No I am not gay and in love with Tom Selleck... I'm just making my point)

This Mike Knight is more along the line of a StarShip troopers kinda look. You know.. the Casper Van Dean trying to be a ruff bad ass, yet he just looks like he scored the big touch down in Grade 11 and graduated with honors and is on the way to Yale.

Not to mention, the "team" to me is trying to hard to be trendy... The asian girl actually says the word "Owned". Yes! I am not kidding. Lame. Lay off trying to appeal to 18 year olds and realize the crowd watching this f*cking show. We are 30 year olds. We hate f*cking trendy punk ass f*ckers.

Anyway..I gotta be honest, I felt like I was watching an adult version of POWER RANGERS. Except K.I.T.T. doesnt turn into a giant sword wielding super0zord Robot bigger then a city! Go go red ranger! I ...I mean Michael Knight!



Here's the final.

Lose the "Team" and have the new Devon and maybe the 2 hot chics.

Give the New Michael Knight a 5 oclock shadow and leave it. Not to mention an addiction to Whisky or something. Something to get him down on life, darken his outlook.. turn him sour.

Keep K.I.T.T. the way his is... make him less chatty though. He's a f*cking car, not Data! He's not trying to become human. Stop having him trying to understand human behavior. I love the transforming shit though. That alone is worth watching this show!

Form Tires! Trunk! and Seats! Form Bumper! Roof! and wheels! .. and I will form the head!

The 1997 series Team KnightRider lasted for an entire season of 22 episodes. I liked the Ford SUV named Dante due to his character, but that was it. I wonder if the current KnightRider series will last for 22 episodes also.
