Wave 10 has finally arrived here in the Philippines. :)
Here's Toy Soldier 1:18's Quick Review of the newest wave done by one of our members (and moderator), chrysophylax:

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y146/toysoldierboard/Avatars/avatar.jpg Got these today. The vehicles (AWE, FANG, CLAW, SHARC, & Firebat) were also released but were sold out once I got to the store.

Some quick thoughts:

Tiger Duke's arms aren't entirely fixed - the cut is now at the cuff but they still can't bend 90 degrees at the elbow.

It's good to have Duke's submachinegun, binoculars, & backpack... now if only my Battle Pack Duke had a back hole!

Mutt's mask swings up & down & is attached via holes on the side of his helmet (when attached, it kind of looks like the Night Viper chin guard)

Junkyard has very disappointing paint applications. I think it's a different mold from the DTC one. Oh, Junkyard is anatomically correct, BTW.

The Para-Viper... is actually a Para-Eel. He has his swim fins strapped to his legs.

The Para-Viper is a little too clunky for me to play with... reminds me of the accessory overload during the 90's.

The Para-Viper has a knife in a sheath strapped to the lower right leg... I'm not sure if it's non-removable or mine is just stuck.

The Para-Viper has an MP5A3 and a really long machine gun with a removable side-loading magazine, folding stock & removable bipod. Both the bipod & magazine fall off at a glance. The really long machine gun has a long bayonet molded to it.

The Para-Viper has removable goggles. And a removable helmet. And a NEW head. It's not Beach Head.

Croc Master... ahh... Croc Master... there's not much you can do with Croc Master. :-/ This new figure is just more detailed. He even has a bite mark on his right bicep.

At least the croc is better than the baby VvV croc.

The Bazooka Trooper is the biggest disappointment for me. I was expecting him to blend in with the Battle Pack Troopers which I troop built but instead the Bazooka Trooper is baby blue. Like the SRO Cobra Commander (or the MASS crystals Commander, I can never tell which is which). Anyway, the Trooper is GLOSS baby blue (The Commander is flat baby blue).

The Bazooka Trooper's card says it's from the comic. Can anyone tell me which specific issue they showed up in?

Finally... the most anticipated figure of this wave: Wraith. Or ;"Mercenary Wraith"; as the card states. The figure uses the '89 Snake Eyes body underneath all that armor.

And underneath the pivoting visor is... Tony Stark!

Be careful with the little wires that connect Wraith's arm cannons to his arm. I broke all three on his right arm just posing him for the photos.

Wraith's P90 is HUGE. He can't even hold it. I don't think any 25A figure can. They made it accurate in terms of detail (not scale), but in doing so, they kept the original handle. Which means none of your figures can hold it. Just get a Marauder P90 with the modified handle, it's more accurate scale-wise too.

Good review! You should do more since you can get the figs sooner than most of us here in the States.

Thanks for the review. I was kinda disappointed to hear that most of the figures did not seem to make the grade, at least that is what i got out of your review. Anyway, i will have to wait and see for myself whenever i get them...

You know, as soon as I saw the wave 10 pictures (whenever it was that we first saw them), I wondered how Wraith was going to hold the P90. Thanks for confirming that one!

Thanks for the reviews! Duke's binoculars are huge. It looks like they scaled up the RAH's mold. Is Mutt's helmet removable and who's body is he made of?

Great reviews - thanks for posting. Mutt's facemask sounds disappointing ...

Although not exactly like the figure and there's no mention of them being Bazooka Troopers, you can see trooper holding RPGs or AA in the Marvel run issue #11, The Pipeline Ploy. Issue #14, Destro Attacks (reprint included in the C2pack Destro-Breaker) also shows a Bazooka Trooper in pages 17, 18 & 19.

I don't know but to me, they look cool! I am looking forward to getting these and the variant if I can find it(or should I say if my better half can find it). Lol. I like the Mutt and Junkyard. I had them when I was small and I still have them. They look cool. :D

I was thinking of buying a couple of extra's to fix the suicide cuts on the old Duke arms. Obviously, the new arms consist of an entirely flesh tone (or painted plastic) forearm and a rolled cuff section that plug into one another. In order to decide on how to go about modifying my existing Duke arms to fit the new forearm, it would be helpful to know which half is male and which half is female. If you could answer this for some of us modifiers, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I can also attest to the fact of the Wraiths arm guns, the wires are horrid, be very careful with them, seems Toy Soldier 118 had the EXACT issue I ran into with the same right arm LOL.

Also, the para-vipers mask hoses do not stay in his mask very well, so If you want to look under his helmet be ready to fight 4 independantly connected hoses, argh that was a severe pain to get back to normal.

Mutt's face guard is also problematic and does not mount well for posing, falls off his face a lot or does not stay in position well.

The figures are awsome though one way or another, just some quirks I was not ready for as they are not evident on the other 25th Joes.

Sarcasm often doesn't translate well when you're working in a language that isn't your first.

If you are insinuating that I don't understand sarcasm, then I guess you don't either...

But most especially when you are reading text, not hearing words. Because you tend to interpret the text you read the way you want to and not according to what was intended. And only the OP knows that...
