84 zartan

I was at my buddy's toy shop today and a guy brought in an 84 zartan that he had bought a few weeks ago. It was loose (wobbly) when he bought and the o ring finally gave out.
Does anyone know how to get the glue to seperate from the torso so that he can put a new o-ring in?
He wants to try ammonia but isn't sure if it will harm the fig.?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated?

I've used an exacto knife and carefully cut into the seam then pried it to pop off (Most people will tell you to never use an exacto knife on Zartan :) )

Yeah, I know he wants to be as delicate as possible with it. Besides the guy that brought it in might crap himself if it gets scratched! He has a Zandar torso that he can practice on though so I might tell him to give that a try?
