There should probably be some legalities involved, no? That is not only unsanitary, if those cats are dead(and I suspect they may be), isn't that some sort of cruelty violation? It's going to cost thousands of dollars to make that apartment livable again. You'd first have to hire someone to just throw away whatever wasn't nailed down and you'd probably have trouble keeping them around for more than a day.

Then all the carpets would have to be removed and the walls scrubbed down and repainted, remove all the kitchen appliances, replace all the water fixtures and fix the obvious water damage to the bathroom. What a nightmare.

You get to a point in your life where you've seen this and heard that, and figure nothing surprises you anymore...but this is pretty damn gross. This even tops the house that was found in St. Paul, MN (I think) that had garbage piled everywhere 4 feet high. At least their cats were still alive and very numerous.

Further reinforcement in my belief that human beings are some of the most vile, disgusting creatures on the face of the earth. I just finished reorganizing, cleaning and vacuuming my apartment before I sat down to the computer and came across this. It's vulgar, and that disgusting pig should be hunted down and force fed fruits and vegetables and made to get some sunlight and exercise. And then locked in that filthy apartment and left to die like she did to those cats. How the hell did the neighbors live with the smell? I work for an agency that deals with people like this all the time. I have seen A LOT worse. When I say A LOT, I mean it. This is pretty bad, but nowhere near as disgusting as it could be. What's worse than having cats in something like this? think a bunch of kids.

That's pretty bad, but I've seen people living in even worse conditions. I'm talking rooms filled to the ceiling with trash, no running water, and a partially missing roof over the bathroom.

For some people it is just the bad hand that life dealt them, but you have to be willing to do something about it. Some would rather be lazy than do anything to improve their quality of life.
