Shawn... what time? I'm going Friday (can't make the midnight Thursday now) so my mother-in-law is watching my son Friday so I can go see it and The Avenue in White Marsh is where I'm going.
So far Fandango has these times listed:
11:25am 2:30 5:35 8:40 11:45
I'm dropping my wife off at work at 7 so I can only make the 8:40, nothing earlier... though I fully expect them to add more showings/screens. I'm buying online but am waiting until Thursday just to see what the times are when more are added.

I'm definitely wearing my Snake-Eyes shirt from Wal*Mart... those shirts are SWEET!

I hear the Toys R Us sale will be on AGAIN starting this Sunday... not only will we have 2 for $9.99 figures, but for $30 spent on Joe's you get a $10 "collectible" TRU/GI Joe gift card!

Its look like I will be there at the 8:40 show. I will have my wife with me. She isn't a big fan but she loved transformers. So she will be with me.
I don't know what I will have on as yet. I'm hoping to find the snake eyes shirt at hot topic in a L. PM your number and I will give you a call

Colas? I sure hope that's code word for beer as Red Brick has a great brewhouse.

FINALLY, Wal Mart is clearancing out Joes. At Towson Town Center Wal Mart I saw Combat Heroes and single packs (Major Bludd x2 was all) for $5 each. Resolute box set was $21 and the only one they had was beat to hell... the flap almost torn all the way off. I was at another WM earlier and didn't even check so who knows. But it's happening. Also, TJ Maxx has some of the TRU 3 packs... Air Command, Sea Command and IG at $10 each. Leave an Air Command and IG for me! :-)

Hello fellow tankers. Im in Virginia and heading to baltimore tomorrow. What are some of the better stores to hit on my way up there. Any help would be appreciated

I don't know about "on the way up" but in the Baltimore area I like Towson Town Center as it has both a Wal*Mart and a Target. Target's here seem to have done a better job restocking than Wal*Mart though both have their peg warmers. I also like the Pulaski highway Toys R Us but they had a ton of peg warmers last time I was there.
Mondawmin Target is good. It's in a crappy area (brand new store) so some people don't think to go there. I've found some good stuff there... but last time I was there, over a week ago, there was peg warmers.
White Marsh Target, as well.

I haven't seen any GI Joe figures here but maybe once or twice, but if your looking at getting comics or other collectibles, Amazing Spiral in the Rotunda mall is cool. The owner's a nice enough guy whenever I'm in there.

I've only lived here a year so I'm sure some of the other people here have some really good spots.

08-04-2009, 09:21 AM
Other then the usual Targets, Walmarts and TRU like only1 said I can't think of ANY good spots to tell you. There is a place in Ellicott City called ALL TIME TOYS. They specialize in collectible toys like Joe, Star Wars, Transformers etc but they tend to be pricey (you're gonna pay Ebay prices)...still cool to have the option though.

updated White Marsh RoC showtimes for Friday...
* 10:15m
* 11:25am
* 1:20
* 2:30
* 4:25
* 5:35
* 7:30
* 8:40
* 10:35
* 11:45

I'll still be making the 8:40... 7:30's just too early as I'm dropping my wife off at 7 at her work. It's not far away but I want to get a good spot in line... plan on being to the theater about 7:15 or so depending on what time I actually drop my wife off. I fully expect a line to be there already.

Shawn... what time you plan on getting to the theater?

I think we should all buddy up for these Walmart exclusives coming out. I'm interested in the Joe stuff plus the Star Wars Dewback w/rider (DC and Marvel too I guess)....what do you say we all help each other out?
I hit Walmart every now and then but not as much as TRU or Target. I'd be willing to pick up any exclusives I find and post them here on the Maryland board. I figure that's the best bet some of us may have in getting what we want. If nobody wants a particular exclusive I list it's no big deal I can always take it back for a refund.
Sound like a plan?

Might be time to resurrect the Maryland Want List (http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-joe-buy-sell-trade/13401-maryland-want-list.html), if we think it'll be useful again.

I don't know...hasn't been updated since Feb. I forgot all about that...which might be indication that it may be best to stay on this page. If we get enough of us on board for this I guess we can decide then.

I wouldn't bother looking to hard for those Wal-Mart exclusives. They probably won't show up until next year knowing how nonchalant Wal-Mart is about stocking action figures in general. They still don't have Night Ravens, Pits, Steel Crushers and Cobra Gunships like TRU and Target. I doubt they'll bother restocking Joes period....

Has anyone picked up the Target exclusives? I need Wet-Suit, Wetdown(reg figure) and a Cobra Eel wuth Wave Crusher to complete my water brigade...

Checked Columbia Target last night - no sign of exclusives. They did have the Dragonhawk, which I'd not seen yet. They also had one Hawk, but he was the only figure from that wave/collection that I saw.

Hagerstown WM this morning had 2 Pit Commandos, 3 Flashes, 2-3 Elite Vipers, 2 Eels in addition to the usual peg warmers.

At $7.88 they can keep them!

Target Annapolis switched the toy aisles around....ROC figures are now where the DC stuff was (which is now in the next aisle)
Spotted the Clone Turbo Tank ($99.99) and noticed the exclusive Rancor has been bumped up to $49.99...watch them "clearance" it at the old price of $39.99...WTF Target???
Also spotted the $10 exclusive figure/vehicle combos (blah...easy pass)....they had one of each. No wave 3 figures left. Still no Pit Commando.

I thought I was being crazy for ordering Agent Helix online because I saw three or her figures at Target last Wednesday along with Elite Vipers, Sgt. Flash, Hawk, Cobra Eels and Pit Commandos. Now all signs of wave three are dwindling while wave 4 is popping up over Maryland. What's up with Target Annapolis? Do they just have the best overall distribution of Joes? Everytime I check on here for sightings they are the first to have new stuff. Anyways I'm skipping Wal-Mart until one of you tell me about an exclusive find there. Idiots aren't even matching Target prices and still completely stocked with stuff everyone already has...

Ok, I enjoyed th emovie and I think people that aren't Joe fans will enjoy the movie as well.
My only wish is that is would be kinda more realistic.
I know there are some spoilers elsewhere on the tank, but I give you guys a few heads up here.
Sgt Stone has about 3 lines . JInx(if it is her) is shown for about 2 seconds.
Cover Girl rarely has any parts other than following hawk around.
Ripcord and Duke remind of nick nolte and eddie murphy in 48 hours.
Snake Eyes is shown in his paris pursuit hoody, but only sitting down.

Just left the WM in northern GB. They had a couple Helix's right out front on the pegs, as well as Flash. There was one or two Pit Commando's, and I saw at least one Crimson Guard Viper guy, not really impressed by him at all, although he did come with a snake in case which i thought was pretty cool. They also had a couple DragonFlys and Crimson Hydra's. Target yestarday had the shirtless SS, but thats all i saw from that wave. They did have all four exclusives though. still no two packs at WM.

I saw you pick it up. I didn't know you were a fellow tanker.....
you put back the Sgt. Flash, did you happen to see Agent Helix?

I picked up the Rhino on Thursday for $50 and I'm disappointed as hell. Flimsy execution of repaint. Door hinges are weak enough to fall away from the vehicle without any real pressure. The helipad doesn't stay down for the helicopter to stay in place and those clunky missle launchers have to be removed in order to fit the Joes in the back compartments.

I think these VvV repaints are kinda lame overall. I'm waiting until the Snowcat shows up in October...

Went to TRU in GB this morning and picked up a Flash and Helix. They still had a decent selection left, dont forget to look on the end cap by the wrestling figs as they still have some ROC stuff there. I am hoping to trade these for either a resolute duke and cobra trooper, or both for a ghost hawk. i dont want to ship them though, so if u would like to meet up in person around the glen burnie, pasadena area please pm. im working 7-3 tomorrow if that works for anyone, i could meet while working.

I say get it if you want a large vehicle that can fit many joes...
It's frustating that a repaint gets sold at such a high price. There is no difference between this vehicle and the VvV version so why is the pricing almost double?

If I knew they were going to kick down the price today I really would have waited...

I wish Target would do the 2 for $10 sale like TRU since they have the best stock period...

This weekend was a great hunt:

Baltimore County/Towson Shopping Center
TJ Maxx today - Skrull Elektra vs. Ronin - $7.00
Wal-Mart today - ML Nemisis Punisher - $10.44

Columbia Shopping Center
Wal-Mart last Friday - 2 Elite Vipers
Target last Friday - 2 Eels with Wave Crushers

Passes on -
MU Secret Wars two packs for $12.89, they look sorry and should be $5.00
Joe figures at TRU for $8. I think I'll bite this Thursday if they have any decent figures...

TRU Columbia, MD - 2 for $9.99 sale, they had Agent Helix, Pit Commando, Sgt. Flash, Elite Viper and Cobra Eel around lunch time ( noon)

Target Columbia, MD (across the driving path in the same shopping center) - They had all of wave four for $6.49 a figure. I picked up Paris Pursuit Baroness ( best Baroness to date!), Artic Snake Eyes, and Rex "The Doctor" Lewis around 12:25 p.m. today.

Do what I do, buy it if you think you want it and then, if you decide you do not want it, return it.

I can never really get a full appreciation for a figure in the store. Some I know I want and get those right away.

Had not seen any sightings of these at MD TRUs. Anyone else?

I picked up some from that wave at Target on Monday - planning to get them to price match with TRU later this week. I *think* the route 40 TRU might've had those earlier this week, but I don't remember who else is in the wave to be certain.

I picked a dozen of the Cobra Eels (RoC) and Elite Vipers this week from Columbia Shopping Center (TRU, Target, Wal-Mart), off of Dobbin Rd. and Rt 175. I picked up most of the PP Baroness (best Baroness figure period!) wave also including Rex Lewis and Artic Snake Eyes. I've seen Agent Helix several times this week in this area (Columbia, MD), so I suggest you peep around there if you are still looking for her.

Today I picked up ML Astonishing Beast and a MU Union Jack from Wal-Marts in Anne Arundel County and Laurel, MD (Rt 198). They had tons of Major Bloods and PP Cobra Troopers for $5.00 each in the toy clearance aisle so have a blast. I also picked up a Cobra Eel w/ Wave Crusher from Laurel Target and a hall of Heroes Snake Eyes from FYE in Arundel Mills.

Right now I'm all caught up on RoC Merchandise unless a huge clearance comes along. Right now I have 13 RoC Cobra Eels and 11 Elite Vipers. I'm done...

My fault, but I've learned the best time to look in this general area is Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday for new stuff. The good thing about RoC toys is that they most likely have the figures you want but have to wait until the pegs get a little empty to replenish it with new stuff. Trust me, we won't have the same problems locating goodies like we did with the 25th/ Modern Era Lines since retailers are well stocked with this merchandise to full capacity...

Again, AGENT HELIX, PP BARONESS, REX LEWIS, SGT FLASH, ELITE VIPERS, COBRA EELS (BOTH VERSIONS) AND PIT COMMANDOS ARE POPPING UP ALOT AT COLUMBIA SHOPPING CENTER OFF OF RT. 175 !!!! Please check this hot spot and rack up so that we can start seing newer merchandise and hopefully City Strike/ Resolute Snake Eyes soon in MD...

ummmm... yeah... that's what the little ":-P" was about... I've read on this board people poopooing on people who do that so I TRIED to make a little joke... apparently it sailed right over peoples heads.

Actually, if you have to know, my 4 year old was acting up and the 3 month old was hungry, hence, crying, and we had to leave the store so I just placed them down randomly somewhere. Don't really recall where... just put them down and exited the store...

... so I was just hoping they would still be there when I stopped by there on Wednesday.

It's funny people get down on me for putting them somewhere else in the store but don't get on the people that clear out all the new stuff the moment it hits shelves not giving anyone else a chance to get the stuff.

oh they do... it's a topic well covered and need not be raised again frankly. i think were all tired of the hider/hoarder threads. buy what you want, when you can and move on to real news about what goodies have been found, etc. i've been living vicariously through your guys hunt stories as i'm not hunting ROC.

i stopped by gaithersburg k mart tonight to get dog food and they had a decent stock of figures however very little variety. they were also 6.99 or something like that. they must have had a dozen neo vipers.

No more purchases until next year. Seriously. They are coming out with a large % of the things I've been wanting for the last two years and I can wait until next year summer to really start looking again...

yeah... great lineup, for sure.

And, it may be the Club exclusive, but I know a guy who will be EXTREMELY happy to have the chance at getting a Big Lob figure... it only took, what, 23 years? :-)

Now if they just would make a Cool Breeze fig...

not sure myself, i haven't paid much attention to the convention news this time.

i finally saw roc firefly and i have to say i was VERY tempted. he has soo much stuff with him. barbque just looks awful.

the 12" roc figures look even worse than the ME figures.

The TRU Firefly is awesome...one of the best figures of the line. The weapons alone make it a good purchase. I don't mind the Barbque figure. I think the original was well done and even though the exclusive colors are a bit odd he makes for a good background troop builder...like a deck hand or something.

I think the overall production value of the 2010 lineup is far better than what they have been giving us over the last two years. No more repaints serving as newer vehicles, just newer vehicles that can fit more than one figure. I think they are giving us a new Night Viper (Jungle Strike) which looks awesome but will most likely be $9.99 due to his accessories. I am also cutting back because I am running out of room to store things so I am being selective of what I buy....

Just click on the links on the front page to see some of the line up for next year. You might also change your mind about picking up all those neo vipers in favor of the upcoming stuff in 2010....

Yeah... these figures come with so much stuff it's amazing... especially when comparing them to Hasbro's other 3 3/4" lines like Marvel that comes with pretty much nothing but the figure and maybe one accessory.
Pit Commando is just so full of accessories you feel like you've ripped off Hasbro somehow :-)

Firefly is great in that his uniform and look is kind of generic looking but not in a bad way... but I can easily see it being a troop builder/custom fodder. An army of Cobra Saboteurs? that's cool.

ROC has repaints... look no further than the target exclusives. it's on it's way to more rehashes of characters than the 25th line as well.

don't get me wrong, some of the ROC figures look cool and without a doubt are packed to the hilt with kit. i just haven't found that one yet that i can't resist. i'm sure there will be one, or a couple but for now i've managed to save a good deal of money by choosing not to buy into the ROC line. it's only a matter of time before my kids get sucked in then i'm sure i'll be dragged along but for now my kids and myself are staunch 25th/me fans.

anyone else get the video game? i just bought it for the boys last night. i haven't even had a chance to watch any of it yet. i'd play it but the kids would whoop up on me and well, no fun in that so i don't. nothing like having a 5yr old lap you in mario kart... real big slice of humble pie :)

Yesterday in Towson Target they still had the signage from the sale on the figures. The end cap was full of them, the aisle had one. While the end date is on it as this past Sunday, 8/15, if they have the signage up they have to honor the price. about the only fig there that isn't a regular pegwarmer was Flash... but he's been a pegwarmer at that store for a few weeks now... just the one figure. Haven't seen him anywhere else, haven't seen multiples of him...

Flash and Helix are popping up more frequently around me. Ice Viper and Cobra Eel are more rare at the moment but still out there if you look. I've seen the Crimson Neo Viper & Pit Commando in the Silver Spring/ Laurel/ Columbia /Arundel Mills Area plenty of times. Just check over here during the week and you will be sure to find them. However, the Dragonfly and Crimson Hydra are still in limited stock so I don't see them too often.

I'm waiting on the Wal-Mart exclusives as well as Wet-Down and the Wave 2 of the Target exclusives. There isn't much to scout for until city strike SE starts showing up sometime this year. I'm hella excited over the Night Viper (Jungle Strike) we are getting next year. That figure is classic!!!!

TRU Annapolis has restocked the ROC figures. I counted at least four Pit Commandos, three Helix and as many Elite, Crimson, Ice and Eel Vipers. No Hydra or Dragonhawk did have one Ice Sabre. Marvel Legends two packs out. Spotted Iron Man, Nick Fury and one other that I can't remember... $22.99 each

$22.99 is ridiculous though. The figures aren't even on par with ToyBiz's sculpts....

anyways, I know the novelty of the film is dying down quickly since I've seen these hard to find figures everywhere this week. Today I saw an Agent Helix, Elite Viper and Pit Commando sitting pretty at the front of the pegs at Target on Cherry Hill Rd. here in Silver Spring. Still no sight of Wave 2 Target exclusives and I'm guessing the Wal-Mart exclusives will be coming out next year. Bummer...

The Fall assortment should be coming out next month, so I guess we won't be seeing anything new like Waves 5-6 until October....

I saw Arctic Threat SS at Target in Columbia tonight and it is the dumbest damn figure in this line. Why does he have a jet pack/suitcase that has two retractable blades is beyond my comprehension. They also had Sgt. Flash, PP Baroness, Pit Commando, RoC Eels, Accelerator Suit Duke (3.75") and a Para-Viper for $7.89 a pop. The Wal-Mart across the street is going through another reset for some unknown reason since they never stock anything good or do price matching without an newspaper add.

I picked up the ML 2-pack with the Skrull vs. Kree from TRU in the same center just seconds before another collector came along looking for the same stuff. The Skrull is bigger than most other figures in this line so definitely pick one up...

I havent seen any new waves since Wave 4 (PP Baroness, Rex Lewis, etc.). If no one makes any post about any newer waves being sighted in MD then I'll save myself some gas by not looking. Am I the only MD tanker that's losing interest in collecting? Besides City Strike Snake Eyes and Scarlet (Both Resolute), I'm not too excited about scouting from Target to Wal-Mart to TRU for the figures anymore. I basically always look in the toy aisle if I happen to go to Target nowadays because of force of habit, but I only look because I'm there while shopping for other amenities. I don't see this line lasting for years on end because of the economy, price hikes, consumer frustration in getting what we want and silly cut backs that Hasbro claims they have to do to keep things affordable; like $8.69 a figure.

Let's not blame Target's price hike on Hasbro until Toys R Us and Wal-mart follow suit. You can usually get a pretty good idea of Hasbro's SRP based on what HTS is selling them for, and they're still at $7.99 there (which still isn't great, mind).

I'm feeling the same way to a certain extent. I picked up a few of the ROC figures (10 to be exact) only due to the sales at TRU. I figured if I'm gonna get any of them might as well get them on sale. Once I got them home and checked them out I really only fell in love (for lack of a better description) with about 4 figures. The rest I'm "meh" on. I'll keep them since they were relatively cheap and probably give them to my son for Christmas.
There are very few upcoming ROC figures I'm excited about. I see myself getting the Arctic Snake Eyes (looks cool enough) and the new re-painted Para Viper (passed on the 25th version) but other then that I'm not thrilled with what were getting.
I'm only still hitting the stores on a semi regular basis because I work down the block from TRU so I pass it daily. Economy wise we do most our shopping (snacks, kids clothes etc) at Target and Walmart... So like you, strictly out of habit I'll walk the toy aisle.
I wasn't sold on the Dragonhawk and Crimson Hydra when I spotted them. I picked them up checked them out and put them back on the shelf. I wanted to wait and read a few reviews before I decided. I figured they'd be all over the place (like the Gunship, Night Raven etc) and I could get them later on. Well, that was about three weeks ago and I HAVEN'T SEEN THEM SINCE. With the more 25th oriented vehicles coming out (Battle Bear, SNAKE, Snow Cat, MMS, Silver Mirage) those are vehicles, no question in my mind, I'll pick up no matter what. So for that reason and the fact I think most of us are starved for our beloved 25th Joes to make a return I almost feel I HAVE to stay at it. When you snooze you lose...know what I mean?

I've kind of been like that a long time now with regards to not going on hunts. It's not really cost effective on a day off to just go looking for something I may or may not find. Being out getting school supplies for the kids and regular trips to Target and whatnot then I look down the toy aisle. If I have time, I go ahead and take the long way home so I can hit 1 Target, 2 KMarts and 2 Wal Marts if I go to the Towson Target. If I really go out of my way on the way home I can add another Target, Wal Mart, 2 KMart to that list

Another thing about collecting is it's becoming less fun (for me at least). Way back when (1995 or so) I got back into figure collecting when Star Wars relaunched. The original idea was to get a few figures and place them around my computer or entertainment center for the ha-ha's and giggles. Like anything in life I found myself hooked in no time. For the first time in life I was able to afford figures and vehicles I never had as a kid. I was able to replace the stuff that I lost or broke and "new" figures were being made that I could only dream about when I was young.
Soon Marvel, DC and GI Joe started producing their own lines and I hopped on board that nostalgia train too. I become a "collector" without ever intending to be.
The ROC stuff has no emotional or nostalgic ties for me and I wonder why I'm even picking it up. I guess after 14 years of collecting I don't know what else to do. That's why I say it's starting to be no fun. I have more toys now then I ever had a as a kid. If I had this much stuff back then I'd have been the spoiled kid who had everything. We all probably knew somebody like that. You know, the one who usually had no friends. I feel like I've turned into that guy sometimes.

Its just become too much of a hassle finding things that I want. Even looking for Wal-Mart Exclusives are pointless since 90% of the time they'll never have them in stock or they'll place everything out at one time witout any notice and everyone grabs all of the figures off pegs like mad men.

I don't know why Target would raise their prices after having a month long $6.99 sale on single figures. Maybe some odd automatic computer adjustment that surely has to fix itself eventually.

I am mostly excited for the newer 2010 vehicles. That'll be awhile to happen though...

Well, I am relatively new to the Joe collecting crowd. Still not sure I fit in.

I came in with the release of the 25th and have continued into ROC despite hoping I would be done when the 25th ended.
Of course marketing as it is, kind of drags you in.

I am reluctant to give it up as it is really my only hobby right now. At the same time with the economy where it is . . .

I like a lot of the stuff coming out. But with the price increases, the frustration of finding the good stuff on shelves and coupling that with no nostalgic connection - except the occasional Old Line re-imagining - $8 or more figs will push me away.

i've only picked up one ROC figure and it was my sons request using his gift card so, so far i have not spent anything on ROC.

i liked the gi joe movies, i don't buy the movie figures. i liked the gi joe movie, i don't buy the movie figures. as others have mentioned, there just isn't any emotional connection to this line therefore not compelling enough for me to pay the crazy prices for them. i do see a couple that i will end up getting at some point like the new snow serpent and strato/air viper but for the most part, no thanks. it's really just a big circle jerk of a few figures. grey viper, black viper, red viper, snake eyes this, snake eyes that, desert duke, duke with a donut (joking). it really got annoying to see the rehash of 25th figures and i'm already even more annoyed at seeing countless variations of the same figures with the ROC line. by xmas we will probably see back yard barbque figures.

the vehicles are equally uninspiring for me, and ofcourse, the price points make it even easier to walk away. granted, if the prices had stayed the same, i would likely have a couple buy now but right now, no thank. i'll wait for xmas sales, clearance sales, etc.

the tru figure sales have been very tempting, too bad they never really have anything worth getting. maybe next year.

i think i'll just scour the buy/sell/trade forum and ebay for loose 25th/me figures.

like others, i never intended to be a collector. i just saw the 25th line and got hooked. i now have an army of figures and vehicles that i'm not always sure i know what to even do with but just looking at them all gives me a smile. i get to watch the vintage toons with my kids, mock play room battles, back yard custom builds, etc. times i know i will always remember more than the live action movie.

that's basically my approach. while I do have several display shelves in my basement, I get the figures I want and I don't need multiples of a character, regardless of new costume or not. I am, in no way, a completist and I find it makes me a bit saner than the days of needing every incarnation of each character, any variants, etx...

i caved and bought a single crimson viper. i left all the pit commandos, elite vipers, eels, helix's, flash, other crimson vipers. they were in the aisle, not the end cap display. that was rifled through pretty good and nothing of value left.

germantown target had the exclusives and all the usual peg warmers.

gaithersburg tru had nothing but peg warmers. tons of barbques filling the pegs.

still can't find any stores with 25th stuff other than the tru stuff still at full price.

Wave 5 and Wave 2 of target exclusives will be on pegs by the middle of September if online retailers are expecting to start shipping around the same time. That means our beloved Resolute Snake eyes will be up for grabs on the pegs. We can also expect to see loads of unneccesary repaints repacked and sold through retailers just to take up shelf space...

i'm waiting for the 25th style ROC figures to find anything worth buying. other than the crimson viper which i bought simply because it was labled crimson (bit of a crimson guard nut) i haven't seen what i want. i don't like the current target exclusive repaints at all. the other 25th style ROC figures out currently are less than enticing as well.

i'll buy a crimson viper once a paycheck until i get 5 for my cg army display but still holding out on the ROC line in general for something compelling like the ROC snow serpent.

question though, at the rate these are peg warming, are you guys concerned that the well supplied first couple waves are going to make the next batch harder to find? it smells of the 25th reissue waves scenario to me where the germantown/gaithersburg/rockville stores overstocked the reissue waves blocking the restock of the newer waves.

i don't know when i'll be out at the stores again ( i don't go out much anymore) but if anyone has requests, i'll keep an eye out. it seems i got to walmart just after they restocked to find a bunch of the ones you guys are looking for.

fyi, my son wants rex. let me know if anyone see's him. so far the neo viper and rex are the only ones he has said he wanted. we both want the snake armor too.

My thoughts exactly, with the rate of sales on these action figures that are steadily warming shelves it will hold up shipments of the newer waves of vehicles, exclusives and figures. Everywhere I go is well stocked with the same figures each time. Simple fact of the matter, people in general have slowly stopped buying RoC merchandise. At least here in Maryland. I predicted this would happen on this board and some told me I was clueless and Hasbro knew what they were doing. WRONG!! They backed up an entire revamp of an already successful toy line in favor of another and the toys are now warming pegs after a month of initially being released.

Kids love things with a cartoon; for instance, Bakugan stuff is being sold like hotcakes, I even see some parents stealing Bakugan stuff with their kids right there. Damn shame. Movie merchandise goes stale after the novelty wears off.Hasbro knew this and still thought it was smart to go in guns o' blazing on retailers and now we're coming on a stand still of future product.

I have seen Rex Lewis well stocked, I mean crap loads of him at the TRU in Times Square last weekend. That TRU has plenty of each RoC character on various pegs and bins for the 2 for $10.99 sale. I've also seen Rex Lewis several times in the Columbia, MD shopping area on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Of course, if you check the Target sales figures thread, you'll see that RoC continues to far, far outsell anything the 25th ever did.

But don't let that get in the way of your anecdotal evidence and "I was right!" proclamations.

Its outselling 25th Anniversary because there is much, much, much more of it. And as far as action figures are concerned, they consider those laptops, googles, walkie talkie, Snake Eyes Swords and power blaster rifle RoC gimmick toys to be "action figures". I am not concerned with that at all. The 3.75" action figures/ vehicles are not moving so yes I am right.

Just because retailers are buying new product like crazy that doesn't clearly indicate how well ALL of the merchandise is being bought buy costumers. That's why they have tons of backstock in the storage rooms that won't be pushed out to the aisles unless the other stuff sells. With the film being out in theatres for only three weeks the sales are accurate for the fact that retailers, not customers, are ordering stuff to be well stocked for their Fall toy aisle reorganization which makes more room for what they believe is a hot product. Will they show high sales of RoC merchandise in October? My guess is not likely.

Made my rounds today around Annapolis and Glen Burnie. Hit TRU, Walmart, Target, K-Mart and found ROC figures out the ying yang. Helix, Flash, Pit Commando, Eel, Elite, Ice and Crimson Vipers are all out there. At this point nothing is really hard to find anymore. Wave 3 is starting to trickle in (hasn't hit my area yet) so it's just a matter of time before they start clogging the pegs too.

please understand this is posted in a sightings forum, not the general area. these comments are therefore specific to our area and not meant to be reflective of the overall line everywhere. in my area in particular the overstock of the reissue waved killed us when it came time for the later waves to hit the shelves as they were overflowing with stock that was not moving. the last couple waves took a VERY long time to complete for me and others in maryland.

yeah, i can't say i understand the draw for myself either. it's, well, odd. but it's a crimson soldier and i fell it has a place in my display so i'll buy a couple. i may pick up some of the ice vipers to replace the head with that of the snow viper as well. whats with the hand axes it comes with? they doing some tree cutting? a machete, hand gun and rifle are more than appropriate but the other stuff just gets tossed in the kids gi joe bin.

for the vipers in general, it's the holloween costum like helmet that turns me off the vipers in general. firefly looks rather awsome in comparison but i just can't push myself to buy one. very odd, i know. i simply do not want a 20th snake eyes or storm shadow so no way i'm buying anymore of those unless it's for some got to have accessories.

as full of kit as the pit commandos are, i just don't care for them. i'm not building a riot police army so i don't have any real use for most of the kit stuff.

if anyone has extra accessories they want to sell, let me know.

I don't require your explanations, thanks...I did and do still understand exactly what that member was saying: "The stuff doesn't appear to moving in the stores I go too, ergo the line is not selling well" as a general statement about the line itself. In the world of logic we call that "anecdotal evidence" and it is less than useless. And while my location says DE, I am in MD every day for work and often to visit family and post sightings there. I certainly don't require an explanation of what a sightings forum is.

again, the initial response was in response to a regional specific comments, not some baseless claim against the entire line everywhere nor was the conversation going in that direction until you felt the need to take it there. lets leave that conversation for the thread you suggested, the target sales figures and others.

I heard about the coupon but didn't know it existed to long after I saw the movie. Not promoted well is my guess....they could have handed each person seeing the Joe movie the coupon when the ripped your stub....now that would make sense.

Naw, those wal-mart exclusives are not showing up here in my area. Is it really a surprise though? Wal-mart reorganizes its toy aisles very often and still never have what we are looking for. I've been looking for the Ares and Nemesis ML Waves and they just won't carry it like they carry the MU line for some unknown reason.

And don't bother asking a Wal-Mart employee for help, they'll just shrug their shoulders or have no idea of what you're talking about.

My guess is within the coming weeks we will start seeing them. I need that Night Creeper and Monkeywrench. I've heard from one of my buddies at TRU at Columbia Crossing in Columbia, MD that they get in RoC merchandise like every other day or at least four times a week. I look here because they have that 2 for $10.99 sale that can happen again if they want people to keep coming there. Target is the best place to pick up new stuff and the only Target with the $8.69 per fig price sticker is the Cherry Hill Rd. one here in Silver Spring. Its funny because they are the third place I look when I'm out. I'm sure that Resolute Snake Eyes (City Strike) is coming out at retailers in September so keep a close eye as it may pop up randomly then disappear. BTW, last Friday I was lucky enough to pick up the ML 2-pack Iron Man w Maria Hill(hooray!!).

I am looking forward to some of the cobra vehicles as well as the Snowcat coming out next year. That gives me time to save $$$ for more important things.

I agree...the newness of the ROC figures has worn off. There are still a select few scattered throughout the line to keep me interested but overall it's a major pass. I do love the Elite Viper though.... that is one bad ass figure. It's the perfect Cobra Commando. Funny thing is I like the ROC versions of BBQ, Firefly, Deep Six (Torpedo) and Snow Job. Those were some of the best 25th figures out there IMO. I know they are just repaints but they work for me.

i was looking forward to the repainted 25th characters like the target eel, tru barbque and mas release torpedo but the colors schemes just don't do it for me. the target eel comes closest for me and maybe snow job. torpedo just looks to plain, i don't like barbques yellow and the other target exclusives repaint color schemes are way weird.

Supposedly, they went up in the computer systems but now show up as sold out.
Wal*Mart has had zero support of this linke. If they did it like transformers, we'd be able to find everything we need right away. The Towson MW is just pathetic as far as finding anything. It's on a crappy cardboard 4-way that's fallen apart...

As for that coupon, I saww RoC again Friday night (this time with my son now that I've previewed it for him) and didn't see a single coupon... although I hadn't heard of them so didn't know. this was White Marsh AMC.

Damn dude, I would never do that, I mean gas is too expensive.

I go to Target on Wednesdays before I head into work like at 8:00 a.m. and I do see some new stuff sitting on pegs that are absent during the rest of the week. I will do this the month of September because of Resolute Snake Eyes only. I'm hoping that you find that Rex Lewis figure, Its a decent figure in its own regardless of the RoC ties. These next few months it was reported that we should be getting:

Past & Present Vehicle assortments
RoC soldier 5-packs
Waves 4-5
Wal-mart exclusives
Target Wave 2 exclusives
RoC Battle scene assortments
3 packs, similiar to those SRO packs..(blaaah repaints)...

Rite Aid? Really? Never go there since they're always more expensive than Wal-Mart...

I know of some unexpecting places to pick up Joes. If you periodically want FREE Joes go to Kohl's and become part of their e-mail group or open an account. I have picked up three RoC action figures for free simply because of the $10 coupons they give me through e-mail. FYE will be carrying the Cobra Island 7 packs sometime in the future and hopefully both sets will hit discount retailers for cheap. Borders, CVS, WalGreens, Costco and BJs also have Joes but the best place for discounted 25th stuff (HoH line, other exclusives) here in MD is TJMaxxx or Ross. I picked up HoH Flint for $6.99 at TJMaxx last month even though that line was supposely an internet exclusive just like those extreme conditions sets. Overseas the Doc figures are showing up in retailers so Hasbro obviously holds true to online exclusiveness for a short while then dish out the backstock to stores. Marshalls is always a mess, they had all five DVD packs but they were being crushed in for certain figures....

My WMs stink! The one closest to me is always re-setting their action figure/hot wheel aisle and they get no toys for the 2 weeks they are re-arranging everything. It seems they have re-arranged that aisle every month for the last 6 months.

Sorry for the anecdotal evidence. I just needed to vent my frustration of going there for the last 3 weeks and seeing the same figures.

Reporting on what you find is sightings; pretending that what YOU see is necessarily indicative of the line as a whole and a basis for predictions would be anecdotal evidence. ;)

The whole thing started because some fat cow felt the need to turn her cart sideways and block the entire ailse while she looked through her coupons (food stamps??) while her kids ran up and down and raised hell in the aisle. My son wanted to look at the toys and my daughter wanted out of the cart...both started having a fit because we couldn't get down the aisle. The lady looked at me like I needed to control my kids. I flipped through the figures while leaning over her cart....which she did not move the entire time. I got frustrated and moved on. Came back five minutes later and she was STILL there having a conversation on her cell phone. No joke...true story.

ah, the aisle campers. i've posted my thoughts on this phenomenom. i've actually encountered this many times. sometimes it's just a dad and his kids camped out infront of a toy section for a good 15-20 minutes. lady with a shopping cart playing joe blocker or parent/kids pitching tents infront of the action figures, matters not. it's equally annoying.

I tolerate that only during Xmas Season as to parents really have no clue what to get their kids. Any other times they get the polite "move out of the way, I see my plastic crack".

Some very interesting things I saw today @Catonsville Walmart.
1 Para-viper, only thing i saw from that wave....but here's the interesting stuff.

a. Zartan's spare head on what appeared to be Breaker's body inside a General Hawk package. Not lying.
b. Zartan figure inside a Desert Ambush Duke package.
c. Breaker's head on Reactive Impact Armor Duke's body inside a Doctor Rex package.

Hasbro should've packaged the ROC figures differently because as you can see there are people doing some major reconstructive packaging jobs

Oh the waiting for the new stuff. I thought ROC was going to be different. Pegs stuffed to the gills and new stuff being pushed out all the time.

I have yet to see the new 2 packs, dragonhawk, crimson hydra.

My WM with its 2 rows of Joes and all of that only up to the Helix wave and yet to see a Rex assortment.

In fact, I have only seen that asst at TRU, never anywhere else in Hagerstown.

I agree with the other posters. Way too many W1 & W2 cases. Just like the Best of 80s they keep putting the same figs out from W1 and W2 in the later assts, while giving us too few of the newer figs. Then the older released product just clogs the pegs.

Thanks for letting me irrationally and frustratingly vent. I feel better. For now.

Waves 4 - 5 might start showing up sometime before 2010. What happened is that retailers overstocked Waves 1-2 and the result is backstock of product that can't be placed on the floor until the old stuff moves. So guess what? We most likely should see a RoC bargain coming from Wal-Mart & Target retailers in time for christmas. Let me see here,

Yesterday I ventured to Columbia to buy MUA2 from TRU. The pegs were filled with the same Joes I seen there three weeks ago. They had the crimson viper 5 packs for $19.99. Across the street at Target I debated getting the Wolverine DVD and decided that the movie sucked ass and put it down; moreover, in the action figure aisle they had the same exact stock of figures that were there three weeks ago. However, they had the newer ML Secret Wars 2-packs with Magneto and Cyclops. I then went to Wal-Mart where guess what, they had the same toys from Waves 1-2 well stocked in the same locations. However they had the Wolverine: Origins deluxe figures wave 2 with Colussus and Wolverine.

These retailers here in Maryland are to blame for the slow incoming of newer merchandise and not the Hasbro delivery trucks that drop off their stuff early in the morning. They are stocking newer waves of other collections from their various toylines because space permits them to do so. They (TRU, Target, Walmart, etc.) were way too pretentious in over ordering the initial two waves from the movie that alot people may have wanted at the beginning but are now no longer interested in buying. Therefore, if they don't clearance this crap from the aisles we will most likely not see Waves 4 - 6 until early next year when they will switch it up to PoC.

I was thinking this very thing while I was out on my usual hunt earlier this week. ROC merchandise is literally falling off the pegs due to it being stocked so tight. Honestly I don't know how the stocking and re-stocking system works in retail but to the untrained eye I would say this stuff just ain't moving. The only time I saw ROC figures move in significant amounts was when TRU had the 2/$10 sale....that is the ONLY time I picked up ROC figures myself. I'm actually looking for a select few figures from the new wave but am wondering if I'm ever gonna see them. I mean, if there is no space on the shelf to even put new waves how are they ever gonna reach us. ROC figures are cluttering the pegs the same way Star Trek, Terminator, Indiana Jones and Wolverine figures did/are. I don't think that's a good sign. I love GI Joe and have since 1982 but for some reason I can't get behind this new stuff 100%. It has nothing to do with it not being "my" Joe or any of that other BS the rest of the Tankers want to debate into the ground. If I thought the figures were decent I'd buy them all. Unfortunately based on the amount of figures I see on the pegs I'm not alone in my way of thinking. I think retailers and Hasbro saw ROC as the relaunch of GI Joe and NOT the 25th Anniversary collection and therefore over purchased/over produced this line. The movie did okay but wasn't the runaway blockbuster they were expecting. In my mind a major clearance is no doubt on the horizon. When we'll see that is anybody's guess and how that will effect future waves remains to be seen.

lol, I can tell you that from being an aisle/stocking employee at Target that there is no structured system to restocking toys; especially action figures. The pegs can be empty forever and until a supervisor feels like looking at the toy aisle, it doesn't get restocked. There seasonal rotations in every department at Target where particular product placement has to be changed/rearranged and pushed to the front of the pegs. That's why I feel that an inevitable clearance on RoC merchandise has to be planned by November because the Pursuit of Cobra line starts in January and the aisles will account for this line at the street date.

For everyone willing to debate my views in this case doesn't understand that retailers could care less about action figures in particular and how much is actually available on the floor. Action figures; not toys on a whole, only increase each stores profit marginally and that's when they are related to summer blockbusters. So yes it may sell well but not as much as CDs, clothes, DVDs, electronics and other merchandise available. The most stolen/purchased/repacked toys are Bakugan, Hot Wheels and various play sets from Tyco, Playmobile, Lego, etc.

When I worked at Target I saw Marvel Legends waves and VvV waves well stocked in the back that wouldn't be placed out there because there simply wasn't anyone around that bothered to put them out. So as far as restocking, it will happen; but, it will be with waves 2-3 and a little of 4 before 2009 is up.

This bothers me a bit and that's the core reason why I only look on Wednesdays or Saturdays about twice a month now instead of almost everyday when the Modern Era was available. I really like some of the upcoming vehicles and a select few figures but I won't waste gas searching for these things during their anticipated release date here in MD, or PA, VA, DE and NYC. The Northeast Coast of the U.S. is always last at actually getting in shipments from China to Target trucks across country and finally on the floor aisles for an inflated price.

If the clearance comes in the couple of weeks I'll get a few Eels and Elite Vipers, but hey its all up to these rigid and stubborn retailers to agree on an across the board mark down of this merchandise.

Probably. I don't know about your Target but my Target only has about 3 RHINO's on the shelf. I scanned it (to see if it was on clearance) and it said none in stockroom. When it first came out there was an entire endcap of RHINO's now it's dwindled down to three. I haven't seen this exclusive in abundance like I did the jets. Maybe Target has learned from their mistakes. I caved and bought this when it was on sale for $40. I'm hoping for a clearance but I seriously doubt we'll see this on the shelf for $6.74 like the jets. Too many people want this and as soon as the price drops down even $10 they'll all be snatched up. The PIT...well, who cares about that thing :)

Jeesh, I wish you guys would join with me in these other forums about how great this RoC merchandise is doing. Whenever I vent my frustration about this toyline some arrogant knowitall tries to insult me. The truth is here in Maryland the line was initially successful but came to a sreaching halt after the 2 for $10 and $6.99 prices went away at TRU and Target. What Hasbro and big retailers don't want to do is lower the prices of these toys at particular times when they aren't doing so well in order bring in newer merchandise of the same line. I mean how hard would it be to do a 25%-30% initial markdown on existing RoC merchandise for October-November to get it moving off the shelves again?

The only reason I'm worried because the potentially good stuff for the 2010-??? PoC line will be delayed or potentially in limbo if this stuff doesn't continually sell like it should. Hasbro has been known to pull the plug on a successful toy franchises for unknown reasons with already existing prototypes/merchandise ready for production. I would hate to see that being done to a Joe line for the sixth time (ex. remember Extreme, Sigma, VvV, 25th, Modern Era??), and I wouldn't put it pass them to do so.

I love how people that disagree with you, or post logical refutations of your anecdotal evidence, are automatically "arrogant knowitalls." But whatever. Welcome to the ignore list.

.

There is a select group of tankers here that have nothing better to do then troll the threads throwing their "know-it-all" ignorance around any chance they get. I've gone head to head with quite a few of them only to have the Mods side with them and post a strike against my name. I try my best to stay out of those conversations now (as hard as it may be especially when I see them ganging up on somebody) it's a can't win situation. As many bad apples out there..there are twice as many good ones.
I kind of like our "members only" Maryland club :)

Irid70, this is a Maryland sitings forum, you are located in Delaware; then again, you are one of the people I am referring to.

Irid is right on the MD border plus I think he works in MD so it's okay by me. Plus I spent my entire youth in DE so he's OK :)

You wouldn't know it with all the bitching that goes on.

You got that right. If I open a thread and see certain Tankers are in the thick of it I just X right out and move on. It's usually the same 4 or 5 guys bitching and egging others on. I just avoid them like swine flu now. I'm much happier now :)

I have a big ignore list and I don't comment in a lot of threads anymore, for reasons much the same as this.

Nope. All of us are sick and tired of seeing the same ol' stuff on the shelf the second anything new hits you'll know about it :)

I can't wait to get my Resolute/City Strike Snake Eyes. After that I'm cool till next year....
I would order from HTS but only if I'm going to get a few figures at a flat shipping rate of $4.99. I can see getting more resolute troopers and a night adder some time in the near future...

Hi Fellas,
I don't know if this is a sign of things to come, but target has the red clearance stickers on the kid's SS and SE swords. I seen this at the Middle River Target this morning. And of coure..still no wave 4. I remember Mech Viper seeing Wave 4 a few weeks ago at the GB TRU

I went to Walmart (off 97) this afternoon and literally wanted to pull my hair out. I had one of those "why the hell am I doing this?" moments. I'm so sick and tired of hunting for things I don't really care about. Not to mention the outrageous overpriced cheaply made crap figures that is making me poor. I'm addicted to plastic and for the life of me can't figure out why. It's as if it's a bad drug that I can't kick.
My true love is the vintage stuff and the toys I grew up with (ARAH, Kenner Star Wars, Super Powers and Secret Wars)....I don't need DCUC. I don't need Marvel Legends and I certainly don't need ROC figures. Look for a BIG unloading of my collection soon.
Thanks rant over. I know this isn't the place for it. I just needed to vent.

yes, i do the same. whats the point to prove someone who wont listen wrong? i say save your energy for more important issues. haters are just a waste of my time. i dont care what they say. i dont respond to them. then they moved on to the next person who responds to them. its funny how predictable that is.

I've reached the same point, my expendable income that was for G.I. Joes now goes towards student loans. I would love to have a Skystriker and a few of the 1980's joes remade but Hasbro doesn't want to that so I'm not going to hold my breath for it....

my expendable income for joes has all but disappeared with the increase in my premium for health insurance policy by 25% and other factors. despite the charged political drivel on health insurance, me and my family are one of the ones being priced out of coverage. my premiums have increased by 14-20% every year for the last 4 years.
that rant aside, i just don't have the money to buy what strikes my fancy anymore. i have to be selective and thankfully, ROC line has made that very easy for me. i'm not even picking up the 25th/me repaints like deep six and target exclusive eel.

i saw the 2 pack walmart exclusives yesterday and i was not impressed. i still want monkey wrench but i'm not buying the 2 pack just to get him. i'll pick him up loose from another tanker.

I'm kind of looking at the ROC figures now the same way I viewed the neon figures in the 90's. They may be Joe in name but that's about it. I didn't go overboard buying ROC figures so for that I can be thankful at least. When time permits I'll probably put up a huge sell/trade thread when I sit down and weed the stuff out I don't want. But as a heads up I have a pretty big collection of Marvel Legends/DC Classics that I'd trade for vintage Super Powers/Secret Wars or 90's Spider-Man Animated figures. I'm not looking to sell my stuff (yet) but if anybody has vintage figures they want to unload PM me.

Make sure you post here when you list it - I know you have some DCUC stuff I'd buy.
